Presbyterian ‘minister’ preaching at Romanist novena celebrating group of priests

Take a moment to look at and re-read the headline at the top of this article.

That is an utterly factual headline, yet it is hard to believe it is true, isn’t it?

Reading that, surely the question comes to mind, ‘what on earth are they doing that for?’

It’s definitely a good question.

Other more specific questions might also spring to mind, such as:

Why would someone who claims to be a minister of Jesus Christ be celebrating a Romanist grouping?

Why would someone who claims to be a minister of Jesus Christ want to take part in a novena, a prayer event which often includes the invocation of Mary?

These, also, are very good questions, and ones which ought to be addressed to ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson.

It is she who will be engaging in this repugnant betrayal of Jesus Christ and, indeed, of her own ordination vows.

Now, of course, she ought not to be in the position of ‘minister’ as this in itself shows ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson’s utter rejection of God’s Word.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 outlines this very clearly for ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson and all those who likewise seek to overthrow God’s Word in this most important matter. It says: “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

However, even leaving that to one side briefly, this is a very grave offence against God.

‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson will be preaching at the ‘Novena of Hope 2019’ at The Graan, a Romanist chapel near Enniskillen in County Fermanagh which, for a long time, has been the clerical home of noted Romanist, ‘Father’ Brian d’Arcy (pictured, below).

It is being held to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Romanist grouping of the Passionists.

A novena is a nine day prayer event and this one will run from Saturday, 23 March to Monday, 1 April, with ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson to sow her ecumenical, heretical seeds of deceit on Thursday, 27 March.

Wikipedia gives some of the history of the novena, including its links to Mariolatry and its seal of approval from the Papacy. It says: “The practice grew by the Middle Ages to include pious prayers for nine days before a feast in honour of a saint identified on a liturgical calendar. By the 11th century, the Novena practice had become a means in Christianity of praying to petition personal or spiritual favour to a saint, such as Virgin Mary. After the Reformation and Counter-Reformation era, the Catholic Church formally approved Novenas, in particular through the papal approvals of a large number of Novenas by Pope Pius IX.”

When ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson took her ordination vows in 1977, she would have stated her objection to the Pope as “that antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition” by signing the Westminster Confession of Faith. What a mockery she has made of her vows!

‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson is well known for her ecumenical betrayal of Protestantism and, indeed, in a recent interview with the Belfast Telegraph, conducted by another old ecumenist, Alf McCreary, she indicated her indifference to those who would criticise her in her religious practices.

We don’t expect that, should she read this, it will make the slightest difference to her, though we may pray God will lift the scales from her eyes, but we want to urge Presbyterians or those who are friendly with anyone in that church to separate from this church and urge their friends and family to do likewise.

This is a woman who, despite her years of ecumenical compromise, remains in great standing in the Presbyterian Church, and was handed an honorary doctorate by the Presbyterian Church in 2001, years after she had left full time ministry to launch her anti-Christian Restoration Ministries.

Why does the Presbyterian Church still hold her in high regard?

It truly is confusing to anyone who refers to the Word of God for their spiritual guidance, rather than their own fancies, notions or thoughts.

The Presbyterian Church has emphatically refused to follow the Scriptural command to separate from false religion.

2 Corinthians 6:14-17 is crystal clear on this: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

The phrase within those verses asking “what agreement hath the temple of God with idols” is most pertinent in this instance.

An article in the Romanist Irish News this past week highlights that a specially created “icon”, or image, has been created to mark this novena.

This is quite clearly an expression of idolatry, yet ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson is evidently more than happy to identify with such Christ rejection.

While Rome conveniently omits the Second Commandment from their own Ten Commandments, this doesn’t mean it is not still relevant.

We’ll remind readers and in particular ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson and any who would seek to defend her or her denomination for harbouring her even yet, what the Second Commandment is.

Exodus 20:4-5 says: “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

“Thou shalt not make any graven image”, it says. Perhaps ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson needs to read this closely, although even a cursory examination makes it abundantly clear she is endorsing paganism.

The closing words of 1 John further demonstrate this with utter clarity.

It says in 1 John 5:19-21: “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”

John, in his parting comments, speaks of the discernment given to the child of God to know the difference between righteousness and wickedness. He then continues and says in the next God inspired breath, as it were, to “keep yourselves from idols”.

So we can clearly see the discerning Christian is to stay well clear of idols, yet here is ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson preaching at a meeting which has had a specially commissioned idol created for it.

What a blasphemy!

Again, the Word of God is very clear and critical of these idols and those who make and serve them.

Psalm 135:15-18 says: “The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.”

This icon, which is dumb, deaf and mute, created for the novena ‘Rev’ Ruth Patterson is preaching at is an example of heathenism and God says, through the Psalmist, that those who make them and those who trust in them are like those idols.

It is quite the condemnation, and yet here we have a Presbyterian ‘minister’, held in high regard by her church, so much so that on two occasions her name was put forward to be Moderator, joining in with senseless heathenism.

Is there a single Presbyterian minister who will raise their voice against such a disgraceful situation? Even one? Sadly, based on what we have seen over the years, it would seem highly unlikely, though we would be very pleased to be proven wrong.

Better still, will any Presbyterian minister come to their senses and realise the Bible forbids women from being ministers and speak out against it before separating from the Presbyterian Church?

Here, too, is a challenge for any minister in a church which remains faithful to the Word of God, to speak out against such wretched rejection of the Word of God.

Let us speak out for Christ.

Dear reader, won’t you please urge anyone you know who is involved in that church to “come out from among them, and be ye separate”.

Our reward for holding a Biblical separatist position is great, for we are told at the end of that 18th verse of 2 Corinthians 6 that if you do that, God “will receive you”.

Let us separate ourselves unto God, rather than stay compromised and polluted by fellowship with that which has ignored, overthrown and rejected God’s Word.

And, if you are as yet unsaved and perhaps attending a church which fails to preach the gospel, won’t you even come to Christ for salvation.

The way of salvation is simple, we are told that we must repent of our sins and believe on Jesus Christ.

Jesus says in Mark 1:15 that we are to “repent ye, and believe the gospel”.

1 John 1:9 tells us: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Acts 16:31 says: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved”.

It is Jesus’ blood which makes us fit for heaven, not the sacramental system of Rome, not the namby pamby social gospel of so many apostate Protestant churches, not church attendance, not financial contribution to the church, it is nothing but the blood of Jesus.

1 John 1:7: “…the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Presbyterian quitter Lord Alderdice endorses pro LGBT Non-Subscribing Church

Back in June, we focused on the Presbyterian Church in Ireland taking some very minor, but positive, steps with regards their acceptance of sodomy in the church.

These included barring full communicant membership to homosexuals and not permitting the baptism of children in the care of same-sex couples, as well as loosening ties with their sister church, the Church of Scotland, due to its endorsement of sodomite marriage.

As we commented at the time, this was a case where the Presbyterian Church was ambling a few yards back down the road of compromise when they should have been running a marathon back down it.

In any case, it was all too much for soppy modernists like (Lord) John Alderdice, former leader of the ecumenical Alliance Party and, until the decision by the General Assembly, an elder in the Presbyterian Church.

He resigned his position of authority in protest at the resolutions made by the church, and was very vocal in doing so, as he is, of course, entitled to do.

However, he cannot pretend that such moves are in any way compatible with the teaching of the Bible, but rather he is simply following the precepts of man.

And in a further demonstration of his utter rejection of God’s Word, on Sunday past, Lord Alderdice was the guest speaker in the sodomite ‘pride’ supporting and ‘LGBT affirming’ All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church in Belfast, which you can read about by clicking here.

This is the church which hosts an annual ‘Pride service’ on the weekend of the sodomite parade through Belfast, and which hosts an annual ‘transgender day of remembrance’, two utterly unbiblical events.

Of course, it is precisely because of Lord Alderdice’s anti-Christian views regarding sodomy that he has been invited to speak in All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church. Were Lord Alderdice in support of the Irish Presbyterian Church’s stance, he would certainly not be invited to such a haven of apostasy and most certainly wouldn’t entertain the notion of going near such.

In addition, leaving to one side its utterly disgraceful attitude to sodomy, the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church is a unitarian church, meaning it rejects the precious doctrine of the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

They deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and God the Son, thereby they take away the Bible’s method of salvation through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

And this is what God’s Word has to say about those who reject Christ as the Son of God.

1 John 2:22-23: “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

John also discusses this theme in 2 John v 9: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”

Someone who does not believe in Christ as God the Son cannot abide in the doctrine of Christ, they have consciously rejected it, yet this is the type of church that Lord Alderdice, who until very recently had responsibility as a spiritual overseer for many souls, is fellowshipping with and choosing to endorse.

We will remind Lord Alderdice of the Westminster Confession of Faith, which he vowed he believed and promised to uphold at his installation as an elder.

It says in Chapter 2, Paragraph 3: “In the unity of the Godhead there be three Persons of one substance, power and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The Father is of none, neither begotten nor proceeding; the Son is eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.”

What does Lord Alderdice think of this now? Does he actually believe in the Trinity? If not, did he ever believe in it or when did he stop believing in it? If he does believe in the Trinity, then what is he doing as a special guest speaker in a church which outright rejects that very crucial doctrine?

Salvation comes through Christ. This is abundantly clear through Scripture.

Peter, addressing the Jews, said in Acts 4:10-12: “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

There is “none other name” but that of Christ which can save us from a lost eternity in hell.

When you remove Christ then you remove salvation. This is the root of the apostasy of all unitarian churches and, once that is achieved, all manner of other evils can spring forth.

The passage we refer to shows that we MUST be saved and we can do it no other way but through Jesus, therefore All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church denies the basic message of salvation.

And Lord Alderdice is giving credence to and endorsing such a blasphemous church by addressing a meeting there.

We repeat the statement we made back in June – the Presbyterian Church in Ireland can only benefit from the absence of the likes of Lord Alderdice.

Being invited to a Christ denying church which endorses sodomy shows that Lord Alderdice is prioritising backing that which is called an “abomination” in the Scripture (Leviticus 18:22) over the salvation of lost souls.

What an appalling situation.

Certainly the homosexual must be evangelised, but this is emphatically not what happens in All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, whose minister, Rev Chris Hudson (pictured, below), is a ‘transgender champion’.

This church openly endorses and “affirms” sodomy as not only acceptable but admirable. One need only scroll through their facebook page to get that message loud and clear.

In All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, homosexuality is not considered a sin.

Alas for them, the Bible says otherwise.

Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

Hallelujah, however, salvation is available to homosexuals as is clearly outlined in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

It says: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

The “effeminate” and “abusers of themselves with mankind” had been saved in Corinth and they can be saved in Belfast, Londonderry, Enniskillen, Ireland, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, anywhere in the world.

Let us pray for those whose sexuality diverges from God’s established plan for mankind, that they might be saved, rather than encouraging them on in their sin like the Rev Chris Hudsons and the Lord Alderdices of this world.

2 Peter 3:9: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Presbyterian Church quitters like Lord Alderdice no loss to anyone

There has been much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth by hardened ecumenists and outright apostates over a few rather soft measures by the Presbyterian Church to limit the involvement of sodomites in the church, withdraw from the World Council of Churches and lessen ties with the Church of Scotland.

In truth, the Presbyterian Church has ambled about a yard down the road away from the depths it has reached when it needs to run a marathon.

But any move away from downright apostasy will always be greeted with howls of outrage from the world, especially when it involves the great cause of our day – sodomy.

This is a vile sin and unnatural, that’s what the Holy Spirit calls it in Romans 1:26. He calls it an “abomination” in Leviticus 18:22.

If you don’t like this, don’t take it up with Rev Stafford Carson, the Principal of Union Theological College, the training ground for Presbyterian ministers, and the man behind much of the doctrinal work which has provoked such apostate outrage – take it up with God.

And if you think shaking your puny fist at the Almighty will avail of anything for you, remember what we are told in Psalm 2:4: “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.”

As we have said previously, we ought not to despise the day of small things, but that is all the Presbyterian Church has done – small things.

They will still work alongside the apostate Church of Scotland, which has given its blessing to same-sex marriage, in areas of “mutual benefit”, whatever they are.

They are still in various ecumenical bodies, such as the Irish Council of Churches and dozens of local groupings.

They will still welcome sodomites into the church, despite this being a position whereby they are endorsing open sin in the pews.

They will retain women ministers and continue to teach them at their training college, where the supposedly hardline Rev Stafford Carson is the Principal. In fact he said this week the following: “At the present time the Presbyterian Church in Ireland ordains women to the eldership and to the ministry and that is a settled conviction of the church.”

They will still tolerate various corrupt translations of the Word of God.

They will still enthusiastically engage with what their own governing principles (supposedly), the Westminster Confession of Faith, calls “that Antichrist”, the Pope.

They will still allow despicable old apostates like Martin McGuinness’ mate Rev David Latimer, the Mary worship endorsing Rev John Stanbridge and Roman Catholic publishing house backed Rev Andrew Watson to hold their positions.

They are just three of the apostates we have written about in the Presbyterian Church on ‘Protestant Revival’ thus far.

We are sure there are more issues we could identify, but we trust we are highlighting the depths of the issues at large within the Presbyterian Church.

Despite the nonsensical protestations of Lord Alderdice (pictured, below), who has resigned as a Presbyterian elder and member over the matter, there remains a great gulf between the stance of the Presbyterian Church and the Free Presbyterian Church, which he sought to claim.

He, and others, including the previously obscure but suddenly “high profile businesswoman” (according to the Belfast Telegraph) Lesley Macaulay claim this is a matter of liberty, which is an absolute falsehood.

We will remind Lord Alderdice, a former Alliance Party leader (and what a wretched, God defying party it is), of what the Westminster Confession of Faith says.

Let’s not forget he would have vowed his agreement with what it said and promised to uphold it when he was appointed as an elder. This was clearly a lie, as we will demonstrate clearly now.

These words would also be helpful to Lesley Macaulay, whose daughter is a lesbian, who follows the time-honoured tradition of something being a sin until one of your family members does it.

Chapter 24, paragraph 1 says: “Marriage is to be between one man and one woman.”

Chapter 20, paragraph 3 says: “They who, upon pretence of Christian liberty, do practice any sin, or cherish any lust, do thereby destroy the end of Christian liberty…”

As a Presbyterian elder, Lord Alderdice would have been required to affirm his belief in the Westminster Confession of Faith in its entirety.

Either his view has changed during the years or he was dishonest from the start in order to gain higher position.

Whatever the case may be, he is an utterly inappropriate candidate for the eldership and his church can only benefit from his absence.

We are reminded in John 14:15 that if we love Christ, we will want to do what is pleasing to Him, not ourselves. It says: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

This same idea is referred to in Acts 5:29, where it says: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

God’s Word forbids gay marriage, but the likes of Lord Alderdice and Lesley Macaulay are fine with it. Who ought we to follow? We trust that is self-evident.

The only way to revival and seeing souls saved and our country transformed (and these are issues which appear to not even feature on the priority lists of the likes of Lord Alderdice and the non-entity of Lesley Macaulay) is through total faithfulness to God’s Word and a confession of sins, not wilful indulgence in still graver sin.

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Please pray, dear reader, for a mighty revival in our land, that souls may be saved in their droves and that our churches will eject the deceivers and the apostates and the ecumenists corrupting religious worship up and down this land.

Presbyterian minister who excuses prayers for the dead to bring Clonard priest into Protestant church

A Redemptorist priest from Clonard Monastery on the Irish republican Falls Road in Belfast is to be welcomed with open arms into a Presbyterian Church in the city tomorrow night.

‘Father’ Ciaran O’Callaghan will be attending Fitzroy Presbyterian Church alongside the self-proclaimed “most hugged Presbyterian minister in the history of the Catholic Church in Ireland”, the Rev Ken Newell, a former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, this Sunday, 20 May.

Readers may well be familiar with Fitzroy Presbyterian Church as it is a hub of ecumenical compromise and helps host the annual ecumenical talking shop, the Four Corners Festival, jointly led by its current minister, Rev Steve Stockman and ‘Father’ Martin Magill, a noted emissary of Papal deceit.

The Four Corners Festival is a quasi (perhaps queasy would be a better word!) political / religious talking shop, and it’s an event we have previously featured, as it was during that event Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson spoke in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast.

Indeed, our photograph at the top of this article of Rev Ken Newell in full ecumenical flow may be familiar to eagle eyed readers of this page. It will certainly be familiar to Emmanuel leader Alain Emerson as it is in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast.

This event tomorrow night (Sunday) is being hyped as part of Fitzroy’s ‘Day of Reconciliation’ to mark Pentecost Sunday.

Reconciliation is a key watchword of the ecumenist and the apostate in Northern Ireland for those keen to take advantage of the bloody, lawless actions of the devil-inspired IRA in our country during what has euphemistically come to be known as ‘The Troubles’.

Those lying preachers who have “a form of godliness” but are guilty of “denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5) use that strife to trick Protestants into thinking the solution to the problems in Ulster is to compromise with the Papists.

However, nothing could be further from the truth.

God hates paganism and idolatry, which Romanism certainly is, and one only has to look at the records of the kings of Judah to see for whom the highest praise was recorded. It was for those who tore down all manner of false idols and places of worship to their blasphemous gods.

Look at the Holy Spirit’s appraisal of Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18:3-6: “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.”

Josiah was similarly praised when he took the throne and carried out a purge of pagan idolatry. Showing an evangelical spirit, he even went into the land outside Judah’s borders to do the same. 2 Chronicles 34:6: “And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali…”

There is no praise for those who, rather than tearing down the altars of paganism, sought to join in with them.

And this is exactly what the likes of Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman are doing by their continual compromise with Rome.

Rev Ken Newell is an arch-ecumenist, and had a notoriously cosy relationship with a ‘Father’ Gerry Reynolds, who is the predecessor of ‘Father’ Ciaran O’Callaghan, the Romanist who will be in attendance with Rev Ken Newell at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church.

The pair were nigh on inseparable during Rev Ken Newell’s 32 years as minister in Fitzroy Presbyterian Church (he was succeeded in his post by Rev Steve Stockman).

Of course, one has to wonder why Fitzroy Presbyterian Church has been allowed to go down the broad road of apostasy for more than four decades and the leadership of the Presbyterian Church bears a dreadful burden of guilt in this matter.

Both Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman signed the Westminster Confession of Faith at their ordination, which states that the Pope is “that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition”.

Clearly, neither man believes that, so why are they allowed to continue to deceive and spread their lies?

Worse still, in 2004 Rev Ken Newell was chosen by the Presbyterian Church to be its moderator – what a grave affront to God.

Indeed, Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman are like the false prophets God condemned in Ezekiel 13:10-16: “Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.”

This is a remarkably apt passage, for “one built up a wall” and “others daubed it”. Is that not exactly what has happened with Rev Ken Newell (the builder) and Rev Steve Stockman (the dauber)? Rev Ken Newell began this ecumenical construction and Rev Steve Stockman now tends to it to maintain the facade of Christianity to keep the people from seeing the truth.

Look at what God says about this wall – He will “rend it with a stormy wind in my fury”; He will “consume it”; He will “break down the wall” and “bring it down to the ground”.

He will do this so that “the foundation thereof shall be discovered”. Just like the foolish man who built the house upon the sand, when the storms come it will all come tumbling down for it is a lie, a deceit, a counterfeit, a delusion, an illusion.

Yet further evidence of the unsuitability of Rev Ken Newell to occupy the pulpit in any place of worship was demonstrated when he said it was “sectarian” to object to the Romish deceit of prayers to the dead.

Showing he has a greater love for Romanism than Protestantism, this counterfeit cleric said that because Orange Order members were advised by the leadership not to use the Papist term ‘RIP’ (Rest In Peace) when paying tribute to those who have died, there was a “reservoir of sectarianism” at large in the Orange Order, a Protestant fraternal organisation.

The term, of course, is utterly unscriptural, not that such a thing would matter to an old compromiser like Rev Ken Newell. We have previously stressed the anti-Christian nature of prayers for the dead. One must only look at the account of David’s child to Bathsheba who died to see that prayers for the dead are a dangerous, blasphemous nonsense. You can read the account in 2 Samuel 12:16-23.

Reader, please pray that God will hasten to tear down the deceitful walls of builders and daubers like Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman and please pray that the true reconciliation of sinners repenting and asking Christ for salvation will take hold in our land.

1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Romans 5:10-11: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”

The message of ecumenical deceit – ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll

After having seen photographs of the ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll’s appearance in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Donaghmore, County Tyrone, we now have the content of the message delivered by the ordained Presbyterian female ‘minister’ (1 Timothy 2:12), featured in the Irish News, a Roman Catholic newspaper.

Lesley Carroll is an arch ecumenist and in her message during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity she appeared to equate the Pope’s impending visit to Ireland with the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and God’s miraculous parting of the Red Sea and stated that the Second Vatican Council offered hope to Christianity.

What blasphemous nonsense!

Within her address, ‘Rev’ Carroll also offered up plenty of bland, ‘thought for the day’ type fluff, the speciality of ecumenists.

Her message was also conspicuously lacking even one single reference to so much as a solitary verse from the Bible. What a surprise.

Citing a ‘Father’ Michael Hurley, who co-founded the Irish School of Ecumenics (a man well worth citing then), she said he had described the push for church unity as having entered “an ecumenical winter”.

If only ecumenism were utterly frozen and swept away by an avalanche of Biblical Christianity, Ulster would not be in the spiritual mess it is.

Referring to some television series she has been watching on ‘Netflix’, the ‘Rev’ Carroll quoted a character therefrom, Harriet Tubman, who gained freedom from slavery in the USA.

Apparently, this lady in the television show said there was a “before” and an “after” in relation to her freedom.

This, ‘Rev’ Carroll said, could be equated with ecumenical efforts to bring about church unity.

She said we are now “after” Vatican II or the Second Vatican Council, which had stressed the Roman Catholic Church’s keenness for ecumenical dialogue… on its terms of course. The Vatican also failed to move an inch on the various key tenets of its corrupt system, including the paganism of idolatry, the lie of Purgatory, the worship of Mary and Saints and the blasphemy of the Mass, among others.

And ‘Rev’ Carroll claims that Vatican II “brought such hope not only to Catholicism but also to the whole ecumenical world”.

The Roman Catholic Church removes hope from its adherents, with its corrupt gospel of works damning its followers to hell. We are saved by God’s grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

We need to be ever watchful against efforts to move towards or soften our stance in relation to Rome. Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

However, the likes of arch ecumenist ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll are throwing themselves into the arms of the anti-Christian system that is Rome.

Her soppy soliloquy gets worse, though.

She stresses her desire for this so-called “ecumenical winter” to give way to an “ecumenical spring”, ie expressing her desire to reinvigorate the ecumenical movement and carry on this mingling of the seed, this distortion of true Biblical Protestantism to please the ungodly appetites of the anti-Christian papal system.

Deuteronomy 22:9 warns against such dangerous practices agriculturally, with a clear spiritual parallel to be drawn, and it is no less important to do the same with the precious gospel of Christ. It says: “Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.”

‘Rev’ Carroll said that “For Moses… there was ‘before’ the Red Sea and there was ‘after’ the Red Sea, with so much still to happen and be done before the people of God would reach the Promised Land.”

Is she comparing the Children of Israel reaching Canaan, God’s covenant land for His people, to unity with Rome?

She continues: “We pray for a time, a mark in the life of the church between a ‘before’ and an ‘after’, between an ecumenical winter and an ecumenical spring.”

Regardless of what success ‘Rev’ Carroll has in bringing about an ‘ecumenical spring’, we can be sure it will not be as a result of God answering her prayers.

Believers ought to pray that the efforts of ‘Rev’ Carroll and her cohorts will come to nought.

And the worst part of her speech was yet to come as she then appeared to liken Jesus’ birth to the upcoming visit to these shores of the Pope.

She said: “Perhaps it (this ‘ecumenical spring’) will be heralded by a big event like the visit of the Pope and perhaps it will be heralded in a quiet corner, as was Jesus’ birth.”

This is a strange comment for a Presbyterian ‘minister’ to make, seeing as she signed the Westminster Confession of Faith at her ordination, at which point she declared the Pope to be “that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition”.

The Pope’s potential visit to Northern Ireland will bring great shame to this country, and to mention it in the same breath as the birth of our Saviour is despicable.

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15), not to satisfy the ungodly aims of ecumenists like the ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll.

Our cry must ever be: “No peace with Rome until Rome makes peace with God”.

Pope here please – Presbyterian Moderator elect Rev Charles McMullen eager to sup with Satan’s servant

It didn’t take long for the latest choice for Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to rush into the arms of Rome.

In his first interview after being chosen to take up the role in June, Rev Charles McMullen, minister for the past 19 years in Bangor West Presbyterian Church, was quick to say he would “relish” the opportunity to meet the Pope.

This is the same man who, at his ordination, signed the Westminster Confession of Faith which describes the Pope as “that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalts himself, in the church, against Christ and all that is called God”.

However, he has disregarded this vow quite spectacularly and, going even further than saying he would accept an invitation to meet the Pope when he comes to Ireland, and probably Northern Ireland too, in August, he has practically invited himself along to kiss ‘Papa’s’ feet.

“We don’t know for certain if the Pope is coming and if he is there would need to be some invitation extended to us,” gushed Rev McMullen.

“If an invitation was extended, our two churches would work out the basis on which that meeting would occur.

“As far as I am concerned, I would relish the opportunity to meet the Pope.

“I would hope that by meeting the Pope, it would be a small contribution on my part.”

I wonder what Rev McMullen thinks he is contributing to?

What he is contributing to is the lie that the Roman Catholic Church is a Christian church, rather than a pagan corruption.

What he is contributing to is the further degradation of the Presbyterian denomination which has been so sullied in the past 100 years.

What he is contributing to is the potential influencing of ordinary Presbyterian churchgoers into thinking the Papacy is an acceptable organisation with which to be involved.

What he is contributing to, most vitally, is the justifying of the corruption of the simple gospel of Christ. Rome says salvation is by works, the Bible says salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

The Roman Catholic Church knows only how to send people to hell with its tyrannical system of works.

As an ordained minister, Rev McMullen has a solemn duty as a watchman. God takes a very dim view of watchmen who fail to fulfil their role. In Isaiah 56:10-11, it says: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.”

God has called for dogs that bark, not nice little lap dogs metaphorically licking the face of “that man of sin, and son of perdition”.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will surprise us all by verbally mauling the man who blasphemes all three persons of the Godhead.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will tell “that Antichrist” that he stands by what he signed up to in the Westminster Confession of Faith when he began to earn a living from the ministry.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will tell the man “that exalts himself… against Christ and all that is called God” that he is a hell bound sinner in need of God’s salvation (Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”).
