Bangor Church of Ireland holds ‘celebration of LGBTQ inclusion’

Much of the world’s news bulletins are currently being dominated with news of the spread of the coronavirus.

More than 60,000 people have been reported as infected with the disease and over 1,500 have lost their lives.

Such is the danger and fear caused by this disease that rigorous quarantine procedures have been put in place in an effort to curb the spread of the disease.

Sadly, no such precautions are being put in place in many areas of the professing church today to prevent the spread of a deadly virus which is infecting the minds and souls of so many.

That is the bizarre and utterly unscriptural concept that the various violations of God’s established order which make up the LGBTQ acronym and movement are somehow pleasing to God or welcomed by Him.

Never worry that the Bible repeatedly condemns these sins, those involved in this campaign to affirm all forms of wickedness are listening to their own notions rather than God’s Word.

Proverbs 14:12 sums it up rather succinctly. It says: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

We are all sinful and when we rely on our own wisdom we go astray, and there can be no doubt that such notions as those within the LGBTQ movement are of man’s own wisdom.

And such exaltation of man was on show just a few weeks ago as a Church of Ireland congregation in the Bangor area of County Down held what was titled a “celebration of LGBTQ inclusion”.

It took place in St Gall’s Parish Church, Carnalea, on the Crawfordsburn Road in Bangor.

This wicked event, which celebrated rebellion against God while claiming to be of God, took place on 28 January.

It would appear that the main organiser of this particular event was a Mary Gilfillan, who unscripturally holds office within the church (1 Timothy 2:12).

She is a member of the Select Vestry which runs the church, holding the role of People’s Churchwarden.

In an article about the event she has written for the church’s website, she outlines the various nonsense activities going on, including bringing in a storyteller and an artist, while screening a video about a woman who apparently chose her “LGBTQ daughter over the evangelical church”.

At the top of the article, this Mary Gilfillan states that in September 2019 “our Select Vestry decided to take up an invitation to register with Changing Attitude Ireland”.

For those who haven’t heard of Changing Attitude Ireland, it is a pro-LGBTQ organisation within the Church of Ireland.

This event was their celebration of taking up this membership.

Every single member of the Select Vestry of St Gall’s Church of Ireland, Carnalea, ought to be ashamed of themselves.

The membership is made up of minister, Canon Michael Parker (pictured, above), Christopher Houston, the aforementioned Mary Gilfillan, Brian Waters, William Tennis, Desi Sykes, Noel McKeown, Derrick Conn, Pauline Smyth, Lynne Davison, James Hanna, Gary Ballentine, Janis Dunn, Jim Noble, Bertie Thompson and Angie Orr.

These people and their organisation’s attitude may be changing, but God’s Word is not.

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us of this as it says: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

St Gall’s Carnalea certainly is showing some gall to be seeking to overturn God’s Word and is most certainly acting very carnally.

Of course, a pro-sodomy event in a church would not be quite the same were it not attended by Rev Andrew Rawding (pictured, top), who seems desperate to make himself the patron saint of the sodomite movement.

Accompanied by members of the Mid Ulster Pride group, of which he is the vice-chairman, he was in the midst of it and very excited to share photos of this abominable event online, as you can see, below.

While true saints of God will rightly grieve over such an event taking place, let us take comfort from the knowledge that God is not mocked.

And let us also take comfort from the fact that God can and does overturn the wisdom of men.

1 Corinthians 1:19-20 says: “For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”

Even though the sodomite movement appears to be in the ascendancy at present and is certainly gaining ground within what passes for professing Christendom in many places today, we know that God remains sovereign over all things.

We also know that God is able to save the souls of any who attended or supported this horrendous event.

Salvation is available to those who identify themselves under the LGBTQ umbrella if they but repent of their sins and turn their back on the wicked lifestyle they have chosen to lead.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”

God has saved the “effeminate” and “abusers of themselves with mankind” and He can do it again.

Let us pray that God will move mightily in Ulster once again, put to flight the enemies of the gospel and wondrously save many thousands of people in our land.

Bangor Elim to give hero’s welcome to Pope performers Rend Collective

Acts 5:29: “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Amos 3:3: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

The supposedly ‘Christian’ rock band, Rend Collective, who performed for the Pope when he visited Dublin last year, will be welcomed back as heroes to Bangor Elim next week as they perform three concerts at that church.

Rend Collective will be on stage at Bangor Elim for three consecutive nights from Tuesday, 21 to Thursday, 23 May.

Indeed, sadly such was the demand to see this Papal pandering band that initially there was to be just two concerts, but a third was added after the first two sold out. Tickets cost £20 each.

Religious compromise certainly can be financially profitable, it would appear.

It is being billed as a hometown show as Rend Collective was born out of Bangor Elim in 2002.

Let us remind readers of the truly disgraceful compromise carried out by Rend Collective as they seek to please man rather than God.

Last August, during the visit of the Pope, who blasphemously calls himself the Vicar of Christ on earth, to Dublin, the allegedly God-exalting Rend Collective gladly accepted an invitation to be part of the entertainment for the crowds as they gathered in Phoenix Park to celebrate the Papal Mass.

So they have openly compromised with the false religion of Popery.

Then, in September, in a discussion with a transgender individual, they appeared to say it was “a sad thing” that certain churches would not allow a transgender person to lead worship or preach.

So they have openly compromised with the utterly godless LGBT lobby.

They also made a very telling statement at that time, saying that “in an attempt to foster unity we try not to be selective in who we partner with under the banner of the gospel”.

Sadly, they certainly got that right!

And to drive home that ecumenical spirit, we revealed in February that this summer, Rend Collective will perform at supposedly ‘Christian’ summer camps, ran by brazen ecumenist Mike Pilavachi’s Soul Survivor church, at which the Roman Catholic Mass is celebrated.

So they will once more openly compromise with ecumenists and Romanism.

Does Bangor Elim think all of these antics are acceptable?

Does Bangor Elim believe they should be promoting a band, regardless of its links to their church, which repeatedly engages with the pagan, anti-Christian system of Rome and which compromises with the sodomite lobby?

Gary Beattie is the lead pastor of Bangor Elim and has been since 2002, which, perhaps coincidentally, is the same year Rend Collective formed.

So, does Gary Beattie think all of these antics are acceptable?

Does Gary Beattie believe Bangor Elim should be promoting a band, regardless of its links to their church, which repeatedly engages with the pagan, anti-Christian system of Rome and which compromises with the sodomite lobby?

The sad and disgraceful compromise of Rend Collective has already been brought to the attention of Bangor Elim but what have they done?

Rather than rectifying the situation by cancelling the two (at that time) scheduled concerts and publicly repudiating the God-dishonouring actions of Rend Collective, what did Bangor Elim do? They organised a third concert.

Like Pharoah in the days of Moses and like the children of Israel in the times of their disobedience and apostasy, Bangor Elim stiffened their necks, and not only continued in their error, but added to it.

This is great foolishness.

Proverbs 12:15 says: “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”

Proverbs 17:10 says: “A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.”

Proverbs 26:11 says: “As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.”

Had Bangor Elim not been deaf to the calls to dissociate themselves with Rend Collective, this ecumenical, compromising, people pleasing rock band, they would have been wise.

As it is, they have made it clear they are happy to reject what God has to say, through His Word, on matters of ecumenism, Romanism and transgenderism.

We are told, in Ephesians 5:11 that we are to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Jude v 3 instructs us that we are to “earnestly contend for the faith”.

Yet here is Bangor Elim enthusiastically endorsing ecumenism by bringing in a band which seemingly, by their own admission, refuses to practice any form of spiritual discernment in whom they fellowship with.

We will also remind Bangor Elim, and Rend Collective, of what the Bible has to say regarding the teachings of the false religion of Romanism in the titles the Pope blasphemously takes upon himself.

The Pope calls himself the “Holy Father”, despite Jesus saying in Matthew 23:9: “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

The Pope calls himself the “Pontiff”, meaning “bridge”, claiming he is a bridge between man and God, despite the Bible saying in 1 Timothy 2:5 that “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”.

The Pope calls himself the “Vicar of Christ on earth”, despite that role belonging to the Holy Ghost, as evidenced in John 14:26, which says: “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

So the Pope blasphemes all three Persons of the Godhead, yet Bangor Elim is happy to welcome in Rend Collective, who have given credence to the Pope and his evil claims, as well as his church’s evil teachings, by performing at an event where the Pope was exalted and lifted up.

The notion of transgenderism is also clearly spoken of and rejected in God’s Word.

Genesis 1:27 says: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Deuteronomy 22:5: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.”

The very notion, like that of sodomy, is an “abomination” (Leviticus 18:22) in the eyes of God, yet Rend Collective said, in response to the previously referred to Twitter comments by a transgender individual that they wouldn’t be allowed to lead or preach in certain churches, that it was “very sad”.

What is “very sad” and indeed downright dangerous, is the influence held by Rend Collective over so many young (in particular) professing Christians.

The same minds which think it is “very sad” those whose lifestyle choices God describes as an “abomination” cannot lead or preach in some churches are conceiving the lyrics which many Christians, perhaps brothers and sisters, sons and daughters or grandchildren of readers, are singing away merrily in their spare time.

The same minds which think it is absolutely fine to give credence to the blasphemous claims and teachings of the Pope of Rome are conceiving the lyrics which are influencing the minds and Christian walks of brothers and sisters, sons and daughters or grandchildren of readers.

What a sad and, as we say, dangerous situation this is.

James 4:4: “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

It is difficult to imagine that everyone who attends Bangor Elim would concur with Rend Collective’s assessment that it is “very sad” that sodomites and transgender people cannot lead and preach in certain churches, their own included.

It is difficult to imagine that everyone who attends Bangor Elim would be content with religious association with the blasphemies of Rome.

We would encourage anyone who attends Bangor Elim who is reading this to make their voice heard loud and clear in opposition to this fearful compromise being carried out by Rend Collective and by their church.

And we would also encourage anyone reading this who knows anyone involved with Bangor Elim or knows anyone who listens to Rend Collective’s music to share this article with them and warn them against attending or supporting these concerts.

We ought to be separated from error, but Rend Collective have brazenly ignored the Scriptural call to do just that, but do not let yourself be caught up in both their and Bangor Elim’s disobedience to God.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Isaiah 58:1: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

So-called ‘evangelical’ Bishop Harold Miller promotes unity with Rome

Isaiah 29:13: “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men”.

Every year in the latter part of January, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity takes centre stage in many of the ecumenical churches, and 2019 was no different.

Indeed, it was the subject of one of the first posts mounted on this page last year and, sadly, once again this year we have the sad duty of documenting the wretched compromise carried out in the name of ‘unity’ in many of the churches up and down our land.

We are aware of at least eight ecumenical events which took place in Northern Ireland throughout the week, though it is more than likely there were more.

We would certainly encourage any readers who were aware of other events to get in contact with us to allow this compromise to be brought to a larger audience.

The towns (and cities) throughout our land of which we are aware holding such services are Coleraine (County Londonderry), Ballycastle, Belfast (County Antrim), Dungannon (County Tyrone), Lurgan, Armagh (County Armagh), Enniskillen (County Fermanagh) and Bangor (County Down).

That means in every county of our country there was so-called Protestant clerics either speaking at or promoting religious mingling with the errors and deceits of Rome.

This demonstrates how widespread the religious deception and delusion is in our country.

And part of that deception is caused by those who give some sort of an impression to others that they hold to a more traditional and orthodox view and theology.

This is where a great deal of spiritual discernment is needed and must be sought by Christians.

There is an old saying that ‘if you get a name for rising early you can lie all day’ and that appears to be the case with many church leaders in our country.

Too many today seem to think the acid test of orthodoxy is simply saying you are opposed to abortion and same sex marriage, but holding to those views simply means you are not a complete reprobate on moral matters.

Religious purity ought to be a precious commodity sought diligently by all who claim the name of Christ.

However, this is not valued by a significant percentage of today’s church.

And one such man who has somehow managed to carve out a reputation of being an ‘evangelical’ is the Church of Ireland Bishop of Down and Dromore, Harold Miller (pictured, top), who was the preacher at one such Week of Prayer for Christian Unity event last week.

In days of yore the term evangelical may have meant more but in recent decades that term has been hijacked by many clerical compromisers seeking a greater level of orthodoxy being attributed to them.

The late Rev Ian Paisley talked about evangelicals ‘with the emphasis on the jelly’ and certainly we can see the term evangelical being distorted and corrupted by many who adopt that banner.

Indeed, Bishop Harold Miller was one of two Anglican bishops from Ireland who attended the much vaunted GAFCON (Global Anglican Future Conference), a supposedly conservative Anglican gathering concerned with the worst excesses of the foul departure from God practiced by much of the global Anglican movement.

Were someone such a conservative, they would be much better separating from the Anglican church, which is the Biblical approach.

One must only look at the example of Paul when he was in Corinth to see how separation is a proper response to those who refuse to follow God’s Word.

Acts 19:8-9: “And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.”

When there were those who spake evil of the gospel and denied and rejected it, and indeed slandered its proponents and adherents, Paul separated and brought the faithful followers of Jesus with him.

He didn’t tell them to stay in the synagogue and try to win round those who refused to obey God, he brought them out and they formed their own church in Corinth.

And indeed it was to the church in Corinth that Paul, under the inspiration of God, penned those famous words in 2 Corinthians 6:17: “Come out from among them, and be ye separate…”

Yet this ‘conservative’, ‘evangelical’ Bishop Harold Miller remains in the Church of Ireland in his very prominent, and no doubt rather generously remunerated role.

And last Sunday, 20 January, Bishop Harold Miller was the preacher at a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in First Presbyterian Church in Bangor.

The event was advertised in the Bangor Roman Catholic parish bulletin and clearly demonstrates the ecumenical nature of the meeting.

How does Bishop Harold Miller square his supposed evangelical credentials with ecumenical compromise with Rome?

Why does Bishop Harold Miller choose to align himself with an event with a stated aim of unity with Rome?

What does Bishop Harold Miller think of the 39 Articles he is supposed to stand for as a minister of the Church of Ireland? Does he believe them? Or has he rejected them?

It would certainly appear he has indeed rejected them.

Article 11, relating to the justification of man, says this: “We are accounted righteous before God, only for the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by Faith, and not for our own works or deservings.”

Rome outright denies this, proclaiming its anathema, or curse, on any who holds to the Biblical doctrine of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone.

So why is Bishop Harold Miller promoting unity with Rome? Does he believe man can be justified by works? The Bible makes clear that is resolutely not the case.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Titus 3:5-7 says: “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Bishop Harold Miller would also do well to reread Article 31, which states: “The Offering of Christ once made is that perfect redemption, propitiation, and satisfaction, for all the sins of the whole world, both original and actual; and there is none other satisfaction for sin, but that alone.

“Wherefore the sacrifices of Masses, in the which it was commonly said, that the Priest did offer Christ for the quick and the dead, to have remission of pain or guilt, were blasphemous fables, and dangerous deceits.”

So Bishop Harold Miller, who is supposed to adhere to the 39 Articles of his faith, is rejecting that very church’s teachings in relation to the central act of worship in the Roman Catholic Church.

Why does Bishop Harold Miller want to promote unity with those who teach “blasphemous fables and dangerous deceits”? And if Bishop Harold Miller doesn’t believe the 39 Articles, then why is he holding such high episcopal office, or indeed any episcopal office?

Dear reader, don’t just take what spiritual leaders say for granted, but rather follow the Biblical model and test out these characters before deciding whether they are worthy of taking heed of.

1 John 4:1 says: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

King’s Church leader Glen Mitchell ‘hugely disappointed’ Ards Town Hall won’t be lit up for sodomite ‘Pride’

Lamentations 2:14: “Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.”

The leader of an easy-believist, charismatic church in Bangor has expressed his great disappointment that a public building in a nearby town will not be lit in the rainbow colours to honour sodomites from the borough.

Glen Mitchell, who is the lead pastor of King’s Church, based in the County Down town, took to Twitter to outline his dismay that a local council move to light up Newtownards Town Hall in a celebration of sodomy had been voted down by a majority of councillors present at the North Down and Ards Council monthly meeting for September.

Glen Mitchell has already proven his aversion to abiding by the Bible by publicly affirming his disagreement with the Biblical account of creation.

And he has further cemented his attitude by saying it was wrong not to light up a town hall in honour of those whose conduct is called an “abomination” and “against nature” by God.

Taking to Twitter to express his dismay at councillors taking a stand against the most fashionable sin of the day – sodomy – Glen Mitchell said: “Hugely disappointed by this, although unsurprised. A gesture like the one suggested threatens nothing and no one.”

He then followed this up a short time later with another tweet, referencing how professing Christians had contacted him to express “surprise” at his previous tweet, though that seems like a fairly soft response to his ludicrous comment.

Explaining himself, Glen Mitchell said that the Area and North Down “borough isn’t a church and shouldn’t be run like one”, that such “gestures build desperately needed trust and understanding between opposing groups”, before concluding his risible self-justification by saying that “Christianity thrives at the margins of society, not when it’s central”.

All three points are very weak indeed and fail to stand up to scrutiny, indeed, they barely stand up at all.

His first point that the borough “shouldn’t be run” like a church is a strange one for a supposed religious leader to make.

Surely he should want the district or borough to be run in a way that would be pleasing to God? Or should godlessness such as sodomy be allowed to run rampant in society? In fact, the pride of place sodomy takes in so many areas of modern society is largely attributable to the shameful downgrade of the standard of so-called religious leadership in our country.

The Bible says that our rulers have a responsibility to act against sinfulness and take measures to restrain it.

Romans 13:3: “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.”

Not only that, but we have an example given to us in Judges for our instruction as to the consequences of a lack of leadership.

Judges 18:7, 27-28: “Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zidonians, and had no business with any man. And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire. And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Zidon, and they had no business with any man; and it was in the valley that lieth by Beth-rehob. And they built a city, and dwelt therein.”

The people of Laish “dwelt careless” and “there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing”.

This was a land which had nobody to enforce the laws of good and evil on its people, everyone was allowed to do as they pleased.

They took no measures to protect themselves, their city was not well guarded, they had no alliances with any of the peoples living nearby, and look at the consequences, they were easily routed and destroyed.

Leadership needs to be strong and pleasing to God, and indeed Glen Mitchell appears to want the members of that council to go against their own beliefs and vote for something which is gravely displeasing to God.

Acts 5:29 tells us of the danger of such a move. It says: “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Glen Mitchell seemingly wants those councillors to obey men rather than God. What a sad position to occupy.

His second point that lighting up the council building in honour of sodomy is equally misinformed, though we give him some credit for pointing out that Christianity and sodomy are opposing positions.

Luke 16:13 outlines that. It says: “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

However, to say that Glen Mitchell shows a misguided attitude is an understatement.

The Bible flatly condemns homosexuality, this is an issue we have covered on many occasions and readers are invited to look at Romans 1:22-27 and Leviticus 18:22 to get a flavour of God’s rejection of such conduct.

Christians ought not to be coming to terms with homosexuality but rather should be constant in pointing out not only that God rejects it, but that salvation is freely available to the homosexual, if they would, as every other sinner, which is all of us, turn from their sin.

2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that when we are saved we are changed. It says: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

We are not to compromise with sin, but rather to reprove it and implore those who are unsaved to turn from it.

However, Glen Mitchell is pursuing a line of thought which seeks to encourage the cause of sodomy, which is rebellion against God.

His third reason for his unscriptural stance is perhaps the weakest of all, saying that Christianity thrives when on the margins.

What type of Christian wouldn’t want Christianity to be at the very centre of our society and civil and public life?

What type of Christian wouldn’t want the majority of the people in society to be saved and using whatever position they have to better advance the cause of Christ?

What type of Christian wouldn’t want elected representatives to defend the cause of Christ publicly?

Instead, he chooses to attack those, no doubt many of them professing Christians, who took a stand for the teachings of the Bible.

Proverbs 14:34 reminds us that a country is lifted high when it follows God. It says: “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Why would Glen Mitchell not want the nation to be exalted?

When countries departed from God, that was when judgment came. One must only read the book of Judges to see the repeated story of Israel departing from God and then falling into the hands of their enemies to see that illustrated clearly.

Northern Ireland is suffering today because of sin, both from our religious leaders and our political leaders.

You have the leaders of the Church of Ireland and Irish Presbyterianism, the two largest so-called Protestant churches, meeting the Pope and engaging in all manner of ecumenical compromise.

And you have the leader of political unionism, Arlene Foster, speaking at a sodomite event in Belfast and compromising with Islam.

You have not one professing Christian willing to back Jim Allister of the TUV when he stood against sodomite pardons being introduced in Northern Ireland, be they from the DUP, UUP or the Alliance Party.

Indeed, the Alliance Party, many of whose members claim to be Christians, including their leader Naomi Long, were the ones who brought this motion before the Ards and North Down Council.

What a sorry state our land is in and Glen Mitchell is encouraging another retrograde step be taken? What a shameful attitude.

His comment reeks of the nonsensical guff often propagated by such easy-believists and charismatics who like to talk about religion being “radical” and “counter-cultural”, trying to make it sound like some sort of hipster minority interest.

Pleading forgiveness of God, righteous living and faithful adhering to and preaching of the Bible from our religious leaders, political leaders and ordinary Christians are the route to revival.

If that is achieved, then God will be central in our land, and not confined to the margins.

Let us devote ourselves afresh to God, to pleasing Him and pray He will bless our land once more with revival.

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

‘Christian’ rock band Rend Collective play for the Pope

Proverbs 13:20: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

The ecumenical and anti-Christian nature of much of what goes on in ‘Contemporary Christian Music’ (CCM) circles was laid bare for all to see last week as one of the most popular of these bands performed during the Pope’s visit to the Republic of Ireland last week.

Rend Collective, who originate from Bangor Elim Church, were invited performers at the World Meeting of Families in Phoenix Park where Pope Francis performed the Mass for the crowd in attendance. The photograph above shows them smiling at Phoenix Park after having played for the Pope.

Not only were they invited performers, but they actually led the worship at the biggest Roman Catholic festival in Ireland for decades.

How much more compromised can you be?

So pleased were they to have consorted with Popery they bragged about it on their facebook page (pictured, below) afterwards.

They said: “What a crazy week leading worship in Dublin at the #worldmeetingoffamilies! We feel so humbled and honoured to get [to] sing about Jesus with so many (600,000 to be exact!). This is definitely a week we won’t be quickly forgetting!”

Laying aside the inaccuracy of the numbers performed to, as it is estimated less than 200,000 turned up, there is so much wrong with this public repudiation of God’s Word perpetrated by these professing Christians.

You can be sure that if Rome was concerned by the songs Rend Collective might sing that they wouldn’t have been invited, and this is all part of Rome’s tricks to lure foolish Protestants into thinking that, because the band they admire was performing in Dublin, the Roman Catholic Church isn’t so bad.

While it may not be considered especially kind by the modern “God is love” Christians who neither know nor want to know anything of His justice and judgment, Rend Collective are at best useful idiots for Romanism and, at worst, deliberately complicit in luring Protestants down the path of ecumenism. It is also possible the exposure to a largely new market of potential Papist purchasers of their music was appealing to them as well.

Many younger (and some older) Christians, and very sadly this includes a lot of those who attend the much more traditional churches, are far too fond of CCM and treat their favourite artists with the same sort of admiration as the unsaved person treats their favourite pop star.

This is utterly wrong.

We previously posted about one of the leading figures in Hillsong, Joel Timothy Houston, and his blasphemous expression of support for the Big Bang Theory and linked to an article on the ‘Protestant Standard’ website highlighting the ‘Heresy of Hillsong’, which you can read by clicking here.

This gives a flavour of the ecumenical spirit abroad within CCM, which has now reached real depths by this very brazen consorting with Popery by Rend Collective.

No doubt many young Christians will follow Rend Collective on facebook, where they bragged about their compromise, and this has the potential effect of softening their view of the lies and deceits of the Roman Catholic Church.

Rend Collective, who, as we have already mentioned originated from Bangor Elim Church, clearly have taken no stand against the Church of Rome, otherwise they would not have been invited, nor would they have accepted an invite.

This flies directly in the face of God’s Word, which says that we ought to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude v3).

Ephesians 5:11 says: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

However, there was Rend Collective on stage last week leading the fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness.

What a dreadful betrayal of Biblical Protestantism, which is true Christianity.

The words and sentiment of Psalm 119:115 should have been the response of Rend Collective when they received that invitation.

It says: “Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.”

This was the response of Nehemiah when the spoilers of the work to build the walls of Jerusalem came to try to engage in ecumenical dialogue with him.

Nehemiah 6:1-4: “Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.”

Despite persistent efforts to draw him away, Nehemiah knew that such ecumenical dialogue would hinder the work of God and as such he would have no part of it.

It is just such a shame that Rend Collective failed so spectacularly to follow this example.

Dear reader, please take care to ensure you are not caught up in this compromise. We must be ever vigilant as the devil is ever trying to sneak in and do damage to the cause of Christ.

King’s Church leader Glen Mitchell rejects Biblical account of creation

Exodus 20:11: “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

Exodus 31:17: “It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”

Genesis 2:1-2: “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”

A very popular method the world chooses to use to attack God’s Word is to reject the Biblical account of creation.

They come up with increasingly fantastic stories to explain the origin of the universe and tell us objects they find are millions and billions of years old, despite having no objective way of ever being able to back up what they are claiming.

Praise God we, if we are saved, have His inspired and inerrant Word to explain to us how our wonderful world came into being.

However, there sadly seems to be creeping into many so-called churches and many so-called Christians a rejection of God’s Word when it comes to creation.

And it would appear that one such ‘church’ leader in Bangor, County Down, has endorsed such blasphemous rejection of the manifestation of God’s greatness through his creation of the universe in just six days.

Glen Mitchell (pictured, top), who leads a charismatic group in the seaside town of Bangor called King’s Church, seems to have endorsed the anti-Biblical nonsense that God used the so-called ‘Big Bang’ and evolution to create the world we see today.

He has certainly seen fit to give this blasphemy his support on his Twitter page.

Glen Mitchell shared a comment on his Twitter page from a Joel Timothy Houston, who, according to his Wikipedia page, is an “Australian musician, songwriter, pastor and leader in the Sydney-based band Hillsong United, a worship band of Hillsong Church.” He is also co-pastor of Hillsong NYC (New York City).

Hillsong, of course, are no example for any Christian to follow but they are sadly extremely popular and much beloved of the type of charismatic, easy-believist ‘churches’ the likes of Glen Mitchell are in charge of. Back to the comment from Joel Timothy Houston on Twitter (pictured, below). When asked for his views by another Twitter user, he said: “Evolution is undeniable – created by God as a reflective means of displaying nature’s pattern of renewal in pursuance of God’s Word – an ode to the nature of the creative God it reflects – and only ever in part – not the SOURCE! Science and faith aren’t at odds. God created the Big Bang.”

Those comments are utterly opposed to the Bible and, of course, Joel Timothy Houston didn’t use any Bible verses to support his man-made theory. The very good and clear reason for that is because there are none.

The natural response of any minister or church leader, or indeed any Christian worth their salt, would be to express disgust that a professing Christian could make such an unbiblical claim.

However, in his response to the comment from Joel Timothy Houston, Glen Mitchell left a single ’emoji’ of an explosion, thus clearly demonstrating his endorsement of the ‘Big Bang Theory’. Glen Mitchell’s tweet is pictured, below.

It is a very flippant response to a heretical comment and to demonstrate support for such is highly offensive to God.

This statement Glen Mitchell has given his backing to tries to claim that plants and animals evolve in their own tribute act to God, which is frankly ludicrous.

It is clear from the Bible that God simply created the world and didn’t rely on making the ‘big bang’ or creating animals to evolve.

The very notion is a nonsense.

John 1:3: “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

Colossians 1:16: “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

Isaiah 45:12: “I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.”

Genesis 2:19: “And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.”

We are not told that God created animals out of other animals over what even evolutionists would say is a very slow process, we are told simply that “out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast”.

This is typical of large swathes of modern professing Christianity, a desire to have their cake and eat it, having a little bit of Jesus in the hope it’ll get them to heaven but denying Him by trying to be on friendly terms with the world.

Matthew 6:24: “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

Interestingly, Glen Mitchell was part of the august list of ecumenists and easy-believists who took part in the God-defying ‘New Wine’ Conference in Sligo last week.

Given the remarkable level of Biblical illiteracy he has demonstrated by rejecting God’s own account of His creation, it is somewhat ironic that Glen Mitchell was lecturing on ‘Competency in Biblical Literacy’ at that ecumenical conference.

And who was he lecturing with at the ‘New Wine’ Conference? Another character we have highlighted previously, Dave Wylie of the Emmanuel Church.

This also poses questions for the Emmanuel Church.

What is its view on creation? Do they believe the account given in God’s Word? Or do they reject God and His Word and embrace the blasphemy of theistic evolution?

Pope here please – Presbyterian Moderator elect Rev Charles McMullen eager to sup with Satan’s servant

It didn’t take long for the latest choice for Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to rush into the arms of Rome.

In his first interview after being chosen to take up the role in June, Rev Charles McMullen, minister for the past 19 years in Bangor West Presbyterian Church, was quick to say he would “relish” the opportunity to meet the Pope.

This is the same man who, at his ordination, signed the Westminster Confession of Faith which describes the Pope as “that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalts himself, in the church, against Christ and all that is called God”.

However, he has disregarded this vow quite spectacularly and, going even further than saying he would accept an invitation to meet the Pope when he comes to Ireland, and probably Northern Ireland too, in August, he has practically invited himself along to kiss ‘Papa’s’ feet.

“We don’t know for certain if the Pope is coming and if he is there would need to be some invitation extended to us,” gushed Rev McMullen.

“If an invitation was extended, our two churches would work out the basis on which that meeting would occur.

“As far as I am concerned, I would relish the opportunity to meet the Pope.

“I would hope that by meeting the Pope, it would be a small contribution on my part.”

I wonder what Rev McMullen thinks he is contributing to?

What he is contributing to is the lie that the Roman Catholic Church is a Christian church, rather than a pagan corruption.

What he is contributing to is the further degradation of the Presbyterian denomination which has been so sullied in the past 100 years.

What he is contributing to is the potential influencing of ordinary Presbyterian churchgoers into thinking the Papacy is an acceptable organisation with which to be involved.

What he is contributing to, most vitally, is the justifying of the corruption of the simple gospel of Christ. Rome says salvation is by works, the Bible says salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 says: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

The Roman Catholic Church knows only how to send people to hell with its tyrannical system of works.

As an ordained minister, Rev McMullen has a solemn duty as a watchman. God takes a very dim view of watchmen who fail to fulfil their role. In Isaiah 56:10-11, it says: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.”

God has called for dogs that bark, not nice little lap dogs metaphorically licking the face of “that man of sin, and son of perdition”.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will surprise us all by verbally mauling the man who blasphemes all three persons of the Godhead.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will tell “that Antichrist” that he stands by what he signed up to in the Westminster Confession of Faith when he began to earn a living from the ministry.

Perhaps Rev McMullen will tell the man “that exalts himself… against Christ and all that is called God” that he is a hell bound sinner in need of God’s salvation (Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”).

We’ll not hold our breath…
