More Protestant ministers to preach at blasphemous Clonard Monastery Novena mass services

Last year, we highlighted four ministers in what were once Protestant churches preaching at the annual Novena mass services in Clonard Monastery in the overwhelmingly Roman Catholic west Belfast area.

This is an affront to the Word of God as the mass is a blasphemous event, which purports to again and again offer up Christ as a sacrifice for sin.

The Bible is crystal clear that Jesus gave Himself once for all and His work in this matter is finished, as He declared Himself as He gave up the ghost on the cross at Calvary.

We are told this in Hebrews 7:26-27: “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.”

Again, we are reminded in Hebrews 9:24-28: “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

1 Peter 3:18 tells us: “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit”.

And Romans 6:9-10 says: “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.”

The Roman Catholic mass is incompatible with Scripture, including also the claim that the wafer and the wine offered up is not just symbolic, but it is magically transformed by the priest into the actual body and blood of Christ.

To take part in such a blasphemy is to, at the very least, serve to tacitly endorse such a ritual.

Last year, two Methodist clerics, Rev Johnston McMaster and Rev John Alderdice, Presbyterian ‘minister’ ‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban and Church of Ireland ‘minister’ ‘Rev’ Tracey McRoberts all took part on the ecumenical day of the novena, which, as the name may suggest, lasts for nine days.

Despite the restrictions imposed on church services this year as a result.of the coronavirus pandemic, Clonard Monastery is determined to continue its blasphemous ‘worship’ this year and the 2020 edition of the novena will run from Friday, 19 to Saturday, 27 June.

It will be streamed live from Clonard and from another Romanist venue in County Limerick in the Republic of Ireland as an “all-island” venture.

And two more allegedly Protestant clerics will be taking part in this blasphemous novena on the Monday, 22 June on what is called “the Ecumenical Day”.

They are ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth (pictured, top), who is principal of Edgehill Theological College, the training ground for the Methodist Church’s ministers locally, and Presbyterian minister Rev Jonathan Frazer (pictured, below). He is the minister of Garnerville Presbyterian Church in east Belfast.

‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth (1 Timothy 2:12) has previously came to the attention of ‘Protestant Revival’ in her role as Vice-Chair, now Chair of the Board of Governors at Methodist College in Belfast. The school had been considering implementing a uniform for pupils who consider themselves to be transgender and we had been calling on the five Methodist ministers on the school’s Board of Governors to stand against the catering for ungodliness. We were not encouraged by the responses from the quintet which came back.

Rev Jonathan Frazer, meanwhile, is not an individual of whom we had previously been aware, but he has certainly made some interesting comments in relation to his denomination’s perfectly reasonable moves at its General Assembly in 2018 to forbid full communicant membership to those living in openly homosexual relationships and barring the baptism of children in the care of a same-sex couple.

Quoted in a BBC article from late 2018, Rev Jonathan Frazer said: “I adhere to the laws of the Presbyterian Church and those decisions have already been made, but I still feel a sense of hurt and sadness over how it was all carried out and the results of it.

“Unfortunately for many people, their lasting memory of the church will be of those decisions, but I don’t feel I would be doing my job if I didn’t speak up and show people that there are some within the church who are still thinking about these issues.”

Certainly not a ringing endorsement of the votes made by the church.

Rev Jonathan Frazer is also quoted saying this in the Belfast Telegraph: “This year’s vote on same-sex relationships was passed by a majority, but not all, of the Presbyterian Church. That’s important for people to remember.

“There was a lot of debate, sincere people on both sides who felt they were upholding their biblical principles. But I think you can say we got distracted by our doctrines. We forgot about people. In the church we’re not called to think about doctrine, we’re called to think about people.”

Again, he equivocates over the decisions made but adds another very concerning comment when he says: “In the church we’re not called to think about doctrine”.

I beg your pardon? Are we not? Where does he get this idea from?

The importance of sound doctrine is considered very important in God’s Word.

Paul, who we would say has a rather greater ministerial legacy than Rev Jonathan Frazer, exhorts Timothy, a young preacher, to concern himself greatly with doctrine, warning that many will show their ungodliness by rejecting “sound doctrine”.

2 Timothy 4:2-4 says: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

The importance of understanding doctrine is stressed by God through the prophet Isaiah, while He also points out that such knowledge, properly applied and taken to heart, is “refreshing” and will “cause the weary to rest”.

Isaiah 28:9-12 says: “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.”

It is a child, indeed so undeveloped a child as one which has only ceased being fed at their mother’s breast, to which God compares those who are ignorant of his doctrine.

Yet, unlike a typical child, who are sponges for new information, ideas and knowledge, they “would not hear” and is this not the attitude espoused by Rev Jonathan Frazer when he says “we’re not called to think about doctrine”.

There are numerous more Scripture passages which can clearly demonstrate this simple truth, but we believe this to be more than sufficient to demonstrate the total fallacy of Rev Jonathan Frazer’s dangerous claim.

Of course, when he unburdens himself from the requirement laid out by God specifically to concern himself with doctrine, it is not difficult to see how he ends up preparing to preach at a novena mass in just over a week’s time.

However, we would call on both ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth and Rev Jonathan Frazer to do the right thing and cancel their involvement in this exercise of blaspheming our dear Saviour.

There is still time for them to do so and we would urge readers to either bring this article to their attention or to get in touch with either individual themselves and implore them not to take part in this grave blasphemy.

If we are to please God it will not be done by taking part in services which trample over the gospel message of Christ’s all sufficient sacrifice at Calvary.

It will rather be done, if we are first saved, by acquainting ourselves with sound doctrine so that we might know how we might please Him.

Romans 12:1-2: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Degrees from Rome, ashes from priests and Corrymeela’s sodomite celebration – yet more rebellion against God

Psalm 12:8: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.”

This post is a slightly unusual one as we intend to cover a few matters at once.

We have been struggling to find the time to keep the pieces coming regularly of late, though maybe the government ordered lockdown might help with that!

We plan to cover a little ground here with regards events or news items we maybe didn’t notice at the time or just didn’t get round to highlighting.

Corrymeela hosts conference for LGBT affirming faith groups and leaders

If anyone were in any doubt of the wretched nature of the God-defying Corrymeela Community, the title above would surely be enough to copper fasten such an impression.

Corrymeela has long been a hub of ecumenical deceit, but over the past decade or so it has very clearly added its endorsement of the God hating LGBT lobby to its inglorious CV.

That process would certainly have accelerated during the period when its leader, handsomely remunerated at £50,000, was open sodomite Padraig O’Tuama.

However, given this was the eighth annual holding of this event, the first one must have been held in 2013, a year before Padraig O’Tuama became leader.

The conference, held back in January is entitled ‘Blessed are the Brave’, although what is brave about open defiance of God is hard to fathom.

A description Corrymeela have made of their event in the form of a Q&A says this:

“‘LGBT affirming Faith leaders’ – what’s that?

“This retreat is for Christian faith leaders who believe that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people should rightly enjoy full membership and leadership in all aspects of society.

“We chose the term ‘faith leader’ because it is a broad term – you might lead a congregation, lead a small group, be involved as a chaplain, have faith responsibilities in your work, or be a part of a group of another group of faith-oriented people. Upon application we will ask you to outline your faith involvement.

“Is it a weekend to discuss if the bible affirms LGBT people?

“Blessed are the brave weekends are for people who read the bible in a way that affirms the lives, stories and gifts of LGBT people in faith and society.”

So there you have it, this is for people who choose to twist Scripture into something unrecognisable from reality to suit their ungodly beliefs.

It is also interesting that they choose to capitalise the words “lesbian”, “gay”, “bisexual” and “transgender” (you will notice that we most certainly haven’t) but deliberately, twice in the small excerpt we have quoted above, refused to use a capital ‘B’ for the Bible.

This shows what they think is more important, the God accursed sodomite movement.

Jude 1:7 reminds us of this when it says: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Eternal fire awaits those within the sodomite movement and Corrymeela seeks to put a religious gloss on this awful truth to pretend it is not the case.

Everyone who organised this conference is guilty of the blood of sodomites and their so-called “allies” and so are the self-proclaimed “faith leaders” who were in attendance.

The title “faith leader” would carry a strong suggestion they have some form of spiritual oversight of others, making them just as guilty as the wicked minds behind this conference.

The current leader of the Corrymeela Community is an ordained Presbyterian minister, Rev Alex Wimberly (pictured, top).

Has the Presbyterian Church moved to remove him as a minister, thus depriving him of his ‘Reverend’ title? What do you think?

The sorry stink arising from that apostate denomination grows ever stronger and more putrid.

Presbyterian ministers to get their degree from Rome

Speaking of the Presbyterian Church, it has decided the best way forward is to move from cuddling up to Rome to officially becoming its subservient little lap dog.

After its training ground for ministers, Union Theological College (UTC), fell foul of the thought police at Queen’s University because the church moved ever so tepidly against the sodomite movement and saw their undergraduate courses ditched by Queen’s, the Presbyterian Church has been scratching around to find an alternative.

And now it thinks it has its solution – a link up with probably the most famous Romanist university in the United Kingdom, St Mary’s in Twickenham in London.

Under the planned arrangement, St Mary’s University would “validate” undergraduate degrees offered by UTC.

So trainee ministers will not be able to attain their degree without getting the seal of approval from an educational establishment set up to promote Popery.

What a sorry indication of the state of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

For the sake of a letter or two after their ministers’ names, the largest allegedly Protestant church on this island will go cap in hand to Rome.

There will be no following of Ephesians 5:11 in this instance.

It says: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

It is certainly hard to imagine a Romanist university taking too kindly to a Presbyterian minister reproving the unfruitful works of darkness which make up Rome (though it is also hard to imagine any of them doing it too volubly) when they are tied to them for their qualification.

Yet more compromise is not the answer to the Presbyterian Church’s problems.

Presbyterian minister takes ashes from Papal priest at ecumenical Ash Wednesday service

Here we have yet more wretched compromise from the Presbyterian Church with Rome.

On Ash Wednesday, a day traditionally only celebrated by Papists to mark the first day of Lent, retired Presbyterian minister Rev Ken Newell (pictured, above) continued the pattern of a lifetime by ignoring the Bible and his Protestant heritage by cuddling up with Rome.

Rev Ken Newell, along with ‘Rev’ Elizabeth Hanna, a retired Church of Ireland ‘minister’ and Rev Robin Waugh, the Methodist minister at Sydenham in East Belfast, attended the service at St Mary’s Roman Catholic chapel in Belfast.

Indeed, Rev Ken Newell delivered the sermon at this service, led by Papist priest ‘Father’ Tim Bartlett, with leading ecumenical priest ‘Father’ Martin Magill applying the ashes to the three God-defying ‘Protestant’ ministers’ foreheads.

‘Rev’ Hanna said: “I thoroughly enjoyed being here, and history has been made. It was great being a part of it.”

Rev Ken Newell said: “This will be a symbolic service of healing and reconciliation, of togetherness and not of division. It is another opportunity for the churches to walk side by side, and to move on towards a better future for everyone.”

Rev Ken Newell is a very prominent part of the ecumenical movement, his Romish compromise over many years at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast now being carried on by Rev Steve Stockman, who runs the wretched Four Corners festival each year alongside the aforementioned ‘Father’ Martin Magill.

Rev Robin Waugh (pictured, below) seems to make a habit of ecumenical actions, blasphemously being the speaker at a novena mass at Clonard Monastery in west Belfast as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity back in January 2018.

And ‘Rev’ Elizabeth Hanna is on record as being highly critical of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland distancing itself from the Church of Scotland over the latter’s support for sodomite marriage.

So there is a clear pattern of abandonment of the Word of God here with all three.

Jude v 3 reminds us that “ye should earnestly contend for the faith”.

Such a notion is these days, in many quarters, considered to be evidence of an absence of Christianity when it is the very opposite.

Let us not be fooled by these “certain men (and some women) crept in unawares” who serve to deny the “only Lord God” with their actions.

Rather, let us test the spirits, use spiritual discernment and shun those who serve to dishonor the cause of Christ, be it by endorsement of the sodomite movement, compromise with Rome or any other way.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Pro-LGBT event in Enniskillen Church of Ireland cathedral

2 Timothy 3:13: “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

The LGBT influence in the professing church is continuing to gain ground.

One need only look at the recent deplorable situation where a man who had entered a sodomite ‘marriage’, who also happened to be a Presbyterian elder in a church in the Republic of Ireland, was thrown out of the eldership and the consternation this met with from numerous figures in the Presbyterian Church.

Indeed, virtually every day the Belfast Telegraph is replete with letters from some professing Christian or another who is most irate a man whose lifestyle choice is described by God as an “abomination” was ejected from leadership in the church.

It is ironic they have been so critical and, gasp, judgmental about individuals making this decision, when they preach a gospel of “judge not” to any who condemn homosexuality for what it is – sin.

Many have raised criticisms over the process by which the matter was handled, though this is something we are not especially concerned with, asides from the question as to why it took so long to remove Steven Smyrl from the eldership (apparently around six months from the ‘marriage’)?

Also concerning is the fact that he was apparently known to be a homosexual before his ‘marriage’, certainly by his congregation, as he had been in a same-sex relationship for 20 years and obtained a civil partnership in 2011.

Regardless, it is emblematic of the growing acceptance of sodomy within the church that such a circumstance has occurred.

And further evidence of the increasing prevalence of spokespeople for the sodomite movement in the church came on Monday night this week, when the LGBT organisation JustLOVE held what was described as an “LGBT affirming faith event” at St Macartin’s Hall in Enniskillen.

This is the church hall owned by the Church of Ireland’s St Macartin’s Cathedral in Enniskillen.

The driving force behind this JustLOVE event was none other than sodomite ‘Pride’ parading Rev Andrew Rawding (pictured, top), who will tonight (Thursday) host in his rectory a meeting of a new LGBT group, Mid Ulster Pride.

We had been made aware of this meeting in Enniskillen prior to its taking place but knew few further details of it.

That was until we received a screenshot of the report placed by Rev Andrew Rawding on his Facebook page and we discovered the event was even more troubling than we had previously feared.

Indeed, the details of Rev Andrew Rawding’s post should be of grave concern to any Bible-believing Christian.

Not only was Rev Andrew Rawding the one behind this event, but he tells of an ordained Methodist minister in County Fermanagh called Rev Steven Foster who spoke of how he is a “gay man” and who called for churches to “provide liturgy which affirms queer people”.

It was also revealed that the Church of Ireland’s Bishop of Clogher, the Right Eejit (sorry, Right Reverend) John McDowell, closed “with a prayer of love for our queer brothers and sisters”.

This is the text of the post from Rev Andrew Rawding.

It says: “Another amazing and informative JustLOVE evening with Jo McParland of Cara Friend in St Macartin’s Cathedral Hall.

“In particular we need to show so much more unconditional love and acceptance to our transgender brothers and sisters.

“Thanks to Rev Steven Foster (Methodist Church Ireland) for his honesty, talking about praying a ‘suicide prayer’ as he struggled with isolation and loneliness as a gay man in the church.

“Steven challenged and encouraged churches to love (over legalism), listen, learn, be careful about language, show leadership and provide liturgy which affirms queer (LGBTQ+) people.

“Great to have Bishop John McDowell close with a prayer of love for our queer brothers and sisters and asking forgiveness for those times when we have not been loving.”

And, as you can see from the top of the screenshot which we have reproduced, below, Rev Andrew Rawding also ‘tagged’ Kenny Hall in his post, saying he had been with him at the event.

Kenny Hall, or Rev Kenneth Hall, is the Dean of the Clogher diocese and rector of St Macartin’s Cathedral in Enniskillen.

He is a rampant ecumenist, having previously held a service in his church in honour of a Romanist Jesuit who is en route to being ‘sainted’ by the Roman Catholic Church, as well as having vowed in a sermon at his church to continue to work “tirelessly and endlessly” with Romish priests in his pursuit of unity.

That is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his ecumenical compromise with the devilish deceits of Rome, but now he has added compromise with the utterly ungodly LGBT movement to his God-defying CV.

It would appear he was in attendance given the fact he was ‘tagged’ by Rev Andrew Rawding (otherwise that was mischief making on his part) but certainly he didn’t stand in the way of such an event taking place on his church’s property.

Indeed, reading back through the article we penned last spring detailing Dean Kenneth Hall (pictured, above) renewing his ecumenical vows, as it were, he points out that he was a minister in Coalisland and Stewartstown, exactly where Rev Andrew Rawding is currently a minister.

How neat and tidy is that?

The group Cara Friend referred to in the post by Rev Andrew Rawding is an LGBT support group, while Rev Steven Foster was, until recently, minister of Irvinestown and Pettigo Methodist Churches in Counties Fermanagh and Donegal respectively. He took up a post in Tipperary in the Republic of Ireland a few months ago.

As referred to above, he is a homosexual acting as a minister and has called on churches to “provide liturgy which affirms queer (LGBTQ+) people”.

What a sorry situation this is and what a damning indictment of the state of the Methodist Church in Ireland today.

Right Eejit John McDowell (pictured, below) was also along to sow his seeds of compromise.

Like Dean Kenneth Hall, he is a rampant ecumenist and has now added caving in to the LGBT agenda to his list of God-defiance as well.

Last year on Remembrance Sunday, Right Eejit John McDowell disgracefully preached from the Apocrypha in the supposedly Protestant St Macartin’s Cathedral, while he was also a guest of honour alongside the former Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher, Joseph Duffy, a man found to have “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse”, at a Church of Ireland service in County Monaghan.

So it is perhaps not surprising to see this continued degeneration – one compromise tends to lead to another.

And yet in all this there is still cause for the believer to marvel at the gracious mercy of our Heavenly Father.

These individuals have obtained positions of seniority and respect, and little doubt they are at least financially comfortable, and this is a sign of God’s patience with those who disobey Him, as He bears their sin for a long time, giving them the chance to see the error of their way and come to Him in repentance.

Such mercy is referred to in Isaiah 26:10-11, which says: “Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord. Lord, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.”

However, as we can see, it will be reckoned with at last, and we can also rejoice in God’s justice while praying that He will not need to bring down His judgment on those who disobey Him and that instead there will be repentance.

The issue of sodomy is one which is really crystal clear to any who takes even a slightly honest or scarcely cursory view of Scripture, yet so many are deceiving and being deceived in this sinful day.

Numerous Bible passages deal with the issue.

These include, but are certainly not limited to:

Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

That is certainly not to say we are not to look upon those who fall under the man-made classification of LGBT with concern for their souls or care for their spiritual wellbeing, but we cannot wink at sin, we cannot sit idly by and let sin be endorsed and praised as noble, brave, honest or admirable.

We live in days as those spoken of in Isaiah 5:20, which says: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

However, let us not be silent or reluctant in still declaring that which is evil still to be evil and that which is bitter still to be bitter.

Let us not sacrifice the goodness of God’s Word to protect the temporary feelings of the unconverted.

Psalm 119:103-104: “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.”

Every mainstream Protestant church in Ulster offers support to Mary worshipping group

Hebrews 4:14-16: “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

A dreadfully sad event took place in Ulster late last month as a large-scale ecumenical convention took place in our little land, blessed so gloriously in times past by God.

The 38th annual ecumenical meeting of the Focolare Movement took place in Belfast, Larne and other venues across Northern Ireland from 21 to 25 October.

The Focolare Movement is a grouping we have previously mentioned on ‘Protestant Revival’.

We did so in April last year when highlighting the blasphemous Ballycastle Prayer Partnership which operates out of Ballycastle Presbyterian Church, on the north coast of Northern Ireland.

At that time we highlighted how Ballycastle Presbyterian Church had, in 2014, played host to a Service of Prayer for Christian Unity as part of the Focolare Movement’s Mariapolis.

This is how we described it at that time: “The Focolare Movement is a Roman Catholic movement whose chief goals are ‘to cooperate in the consolidation of unity in the Christian world, with individuals and groups, movements and associations; to contribute to full communion with Christians of different churches; and to work towards universal brother / sisterhood of all peoples, regardless of religious beliefs’.

“Pope Francis, speaking in relation to the grouping, has said: “The Work of Mary, that everyone knows as the Focolare Movement…”

“It is another method by which the Roman Catholic Church worships Mary and the Focolare Movement’s Mariapolis is a medium by which this is carried out. Mariapolis means “city of Mary” and wherever the event is held, that place becomes a “city of Mary”.

“Therefore, by celebrating this God defying festival, Ballycastle Presbyterian Church made itself part of the “city of Mary”. What utter blasphemy!”

So now, in late October 2019, we had this same Mary worshipping organisation running an ecumenical conference which was cheered on by EVERY major church in Northern Ireland.

Obviously, the Romanists were supporting it as they are ardent practitioners of Mariolatry.

So, too, was the Church of Ireland as the Most Ecumenical Archbishop Richard Clarke (pictured, above) “paid tribute to this important type of dialogue” with Rome, while his comments were “endorsed by the Rev Brian Anderson, President of the Irish Council of Churches, the Rev Sam McGuffin (pictured, top), President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, and the Very Rev Ivan Patterson, present at the meeting on behalf of the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland”.

So there you have it, this article we have quoted from the Church of Ireland Diocese of Connor confirms that the Church of Ireland, Methodist Church and Presbyterian Church have given their endorsement of ecumenical fellowshipping with a group which exists to exalt Mary.

The Focolare Movement organised ecumenical conference featured 30 bishops from 18 different churches in 14 countries and, during their stay here, “the bishops visited Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, Belfast; the Methodist Skainos Centre at the East Belfast Mission; the Corrymeela Community and toured Belfast city.”

Fitzroy Presbyterian Church is the clerical domain of ardent ecumenist Rev Steve Stockman, co-organiser, along with a Jesuit priest, of the ungodly Four Corners Festival in Belfast each year, and it is no surprise to see him hosting such an event.

The Corrymeela Community is the home of ecumenism in Northern Ireland and is an objectionable organisation, specifically set up to destroy doctrinal difference between traditionally Protestant churches and the false religion of Romanism.

And the Methodist Skainos Centre at the East Belfast Mission is also interesting.

The East Belfast Mission’s Chief Executive, Andrew Irvine (pictured, below) was the speaker at an ecumenical Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan in County Armagh in January.

And the East Belfast Mission’s Skainos Centre was the venue a month later for the visit of a Jesuit priest, a ‘Father’ Gregory Boyle, during the aforementioned Four Corners Festival.

The report on the Diocese of Connor website continues and says: “On the evening of 24 October, the bishops participated at an uplifting Choral Evensong in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast. Immediately afterwards they walked together to the neighbouring Roman Catholic Church of St Patrick, Donegall Street. There, during a moving ecumenical service, a solemn commitment in the light of Jesus’ New Commandment, to love one another’s church and consider each other’s crosses as their own, so that all may be one.”

They really were taking in the tour of the most notorious and noxious religious venues to God, adding in St Anne’s Cathedral, second only to Corrymeela for its wretched rejection of God’s Word in the ecumenical deceit, and then paid a visit to a Romanist chapel for a “moving ecumenical service”.

Ludicrously and, indeed, wilfully changing the Bible to suit their ungodly ends, the report states that these bishops made “a solemn commitment in the light of Jesus’ New Commandment, to love one another’s church”.

Sorry, but where was that in what Jesus said?

These clerical deceivers are clearly distorting and abusing Matthew 22:39, which says: “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Where does Jesus say to love other people’s churches? Where does He say that we are to love a church which rejects His Word? This is deliberate twisting of the Bible.

Indeed, it is more than twisting, it is downright falsehood.

But upon such lies the ecumenical movement has always been built, for God is truth and their schemes are not built on God.

Speaking of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said in John 16:13: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

God the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and it is clear those behind and supporting such initiatives are not being led by the Holy Spirit, but rather are teaching for doctrines things which are at variance with God’s Word.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 warns of this. It says: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron”.

These religious leaders have departed from the faith and are speaking their lies in hypocrisy and feel not the slightest hint of guilt about it, as their consciences are seared.

They are giving themselves over to the blasphemies of the Roman Catholic Church and encouraging unity with Rome.

One of the chief blasphemies of Rome is its teaching that we ought to pray to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus, and this unbiblical exaltation of a saved, yet sinful woman, is a key foundational principal of the Focolare Movement which organised this ecumenical shindig.

There is NO Biblical justification for praying to any other than God.

Indeed, in one of the great prayer meetings of the book of Acts, Mary is recorded as being in attendance. Did any of the 120 or so other attendees address their prayers to Mary? Of course not.

Mary was part of the group addressing their prayers and petitions to God, whom Mary herself called “my Saviour”.

Acts 1:13-14 says: “And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”

They continued in “one accord”, there was no disharmony, nobody was praying at crossed purposes to different people.

What a blasphemy it is and what a disgrace it is to fellowship with and endorse the ecumenical dialogue being carried out by the Focolare Movement.

Yet this is what Most Ecumenical Richard Clarke, head of the Church of Ireland, has done.

Yet this is what Rev Sam McGuffin (perhaps Rev Sam McBluffin would be better, as he appears to only he purporting to be a minister of the gospel by endorsing such falsehood), head of the Methodist Church in Ireland, has done.

Yet this is what Rev William Henry, head of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, has allowed to be done in his name by one of his denomination’s ministers, Very Rev Ivan Patterson.

Dear reader who may still be caught up in these mainstream churches in Ulster, don’t you see that these men are not putting the service of God first? Rather they are prioritising ecumenical compromise and fellowship with those who blaspheme God and His Word over and above the almighty God of heaven.

Let us be that “peculiar people” as Peter, under the inspiration of God, described it, let us be separated unto Christ.

We are instructed to “go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach” (Hebrews 13:13).

There is no true unity or peace in refusing to separate from churches which have overthrown the Word of God.

Those who deny God and engage in ecumenical sell-out of their glorious Protestant heritage are the schismatics, for they are the ones who are causing the division by dividing themselves from Christ.

Let us then cleave to God rather than to institutions which may well mean much to us, and it is understandable that they may well do.

But let us be so determined to be separated unto Christ that nothing will stop us from cleaving to him.

Paul said in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Look at the lengths and the depths of Christ’s love for the believer, do we not owe it to Christ to have a determination to, as much as in us lies, be similarly devoted to Him?

Let us even choose faithfulness to God over familiarity with and fondness to our church, should that be a denomination which has deserted Him and done despite to His cause.

2 Corinthians 6:17: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

Mariolatry and blasphemy – Protestant ministers preach at Clonard Monastery Novena Mass

Ephesians 5:11: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Four allegedly Protestant ministers have preached at Roman Catholic mass services during the Clonard Monastery Novena on Belfast’s Falls Road.

That’s right, these four individuals gave their endorsement of that “blasphemous fable and dangerous deceit”, as the Church of Ireland’s 39 Articles describes it.

The Westminster Confession of Faith which the Presbyterian Church allegedly holds to, says “the popish sacrifice of the mass (as they call it) is most abominably injurious to Christ’s one, only sacrifice, the alone propitiation for all the sins of His elect.”

The Bible says in Hebrews 9:28 that “Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many”, not that He was to be sacrificed over and over again, which is the purpose of the wretched mass.

But here we have four supposedly Protestant ministers giving credence to that disgraceful act of Christ-rejection so exalted by Rome.

The four allegedly Protestant ministers betraying their glorious heritage are ‘Rev’ Tracey McRoberts (pictured, above), ‘minister’ of St Matthew’s Church of Ireland on the Shankill Road in Belfast, Presbyterian ‘minister’ ‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban, who acts as the church’s chaplain at Queen’s University, Rev Johnston McMaster (pictured, below), Methodist minister and professor in the Irish School of Ecumenics and Rev John Alderdice, another Methodist minister.

Rev John Alderdice is also Director of Ministry at Edgehill Theological College, the training school for aspiring Methodist ministers in Northern Ireland.

Rev John Alderdice is an individual who has came to the attention of ‘Protestant Revival’ in the past.

Firstly, he is an ecumenical canon in Down Church of Ireland Cathedral in Downpatrick, being installed on the same night as Rome loving Church of Ireland rector Canon Mark Harvey and Romanist Benedictine monk ‘Brother’ Eric Loisel.

Secondly, he is a member of the Board of Governors at Methodist College in Belfast, known colloquially as Methody. He is one of five Methodist ministers appointed by the Methodist Conference to serve in that capacity.

The school is planning to introduce a transgender uniform and we posed the question as to whether or not those five Methodist ministers would stand up against the catering for such wickedness in the school bearing their church’s name.

It didn’t take long for us to get an answer.

After a reader highlighted our post on Twitter, it was quickly mocked by Rev John Alderdice, ironically saying “fame at last”, with a host of other God-defiers such as ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas and Biblical creation denier Glen Mitchell also joining in to congratulate him on being featured on the page.

Rather bizarrely, at that time, an individual who appears to be called Jim Deeds, perhaps trying to impress the other mockers with his credentials, claimed to have made it on to ‘Protestant Revival’, pictured with arch-ecumenist and Presbyterian minister Rev Steve Stockman.

The fact we have never featured a photograph of Rev Steve Stockman appears to be irrelevant to him. It is a very strange thing to be a wannabe heretic.

However, we digress.

God-defiant attitude clearly demonstrated, Rev John Alderdice was proud to be a preacher at a novena service in Clonard Monastery. The novena was held last month but his involvement has only just came to our attention.

The entire service is still available to view on the Clonard Monastery website.

And anyone who chooses to do so will see Rev John Alderdice happily sitting throughout the entire mass service, watching on as the priest blasphemously lifts the wafer above his head and claims Jesus is truly present in the wafer and in the wine.

Rev John Alderdice is pictured second from left in the image at the top of the article as the wafer is lifted up by the priest.

Rev John Alderdice also happily sits watching on as numerous prayers to Mary and praising Mary are offered up.

Here is an example of such: “We thank you loving father for giving us Mary the mother of your son to be our mother of perpetual help. We are grateful for all the favours we have received through her intercession. We pray that those past favours may inspire us to greater confidence in your loving mercy and to seek the aid of our mother of perpetual help. Amen.”

What a dreadful, evil, Christ-denying, Bible-rejecting prayer to utter. And what a wretched thing it is for any minister who is supposed to stand for the true gospel of Jesus Christ to sit by and allow for such blasphemy to take place.

Mary is not our advocate or intercessor, we have just one advocate with the Father and that is Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”.

Does Rev John Alderdice (pictured, above) believe that to be the case? Does he believe there is merit in offering prayer to Mary? If he believes prayer to Mary is blasphemous, does he think it is much more polite to allow Romanists to act in such a disgraceful way than to speak out against it and take a stand for Christ?

All four ministers who took part in this dreadful event were present for the blasphemous offering of the mass and the accompanying veneration of Mary, a wholly unscriptural practice.

The claim is that they practice such ecumenical betrayal in the name of “peace”, but there can be no peace with Rome until Rome makes peace with God.

This peace is nothing but a pretence. Did the children of Israel gain God’s commendation for compromising with His enemies? Of course they didn’t. Did Jesus call a truce with the false teachers of His day, the Pharisees? Of course He didn’t.

Each minister ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Of course, they won’t.

Their attitude will be similar to that of the false prophets in Jeremiah’s day.

Jeremiah 6:14-15 says: “They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.”

‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban (pictured, below, preaching at the novena), ‘Rev’ Tracey McRoberts, Rev Johnston McMaster and Rev John Alderdice have all chosen to reject their Protestant heritage and give credence to the lies of Rome.

Dear reader, please don’t be taken in by the ecumenical duplicity which is rife in our churches in this day and generation.

Let us speak out against the lies of Rome and against the folly of those who cuddle up with Rome’s deceits.

And let us never be afraid to challenge those who bring dishonour to the cause of Christ.

2 Timothy 4:2-4: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Methodist Church votes 5 to 1 in favour of sodomite ‘marriage’

Isaiah 5:20: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Regular readers of ‘Protestant Revival’ may well have seen an article we posted at the beginning of last week which revealed the Methodist Church in Britain was to receive a report at its annual conference backing the introduction of same-sex ‘marriage’ in the church.

The report was compiled by the Methodist Church’s ‘Marriage and Relationships Task Force’, whose members include Rev Ken Howcroft (Chairman, pictured, top), Rev Ashley Cooper, ‘Rev’ Roberta Topham, ‘Rev’ Naomi Cooke (1 Timothy 2:12), Rev Geoffrey Farrar (pictured, below) and a man who appears to represent the Methodist Church in Cameroon, whose name we could not catch when he spoke at the conference.

There would appear to be two further members, and if any reader is able to help us fill in the blanks, it would be greatly appreciated.

This report blasphemously claimed they were “being called by God” to back sodomite ‘marriage’ and that such a retrograde move would be “both scriptural and faithful”.

It is of course profoundly unscriptural and unfaithful to God, who calls homosexuality an “abomination” (Leviticus 18:22) and “vile” and “against nature” (Romans 1:26).

We won’t go through the entire, very clear, Scriptural case against such a godless move again, but you can read it by clicking here.

The God-defying Methodists penning that report came up with all sorts of dishonest, feeble arguments against several Scripture passages which clearly outline God’s great displeasure against the sin of sodomy.

We said in that previous article that it was very clear the individuals behind the report were writing “from a position of outright support for the introduction of sodomite ‘marriage’”.

And it is clear from the Methodist Church in Britain’s Conference that this is the sad, apostate view within that church.

When a vote was taken at the Conference on Wednesday past on whether or not to back the recommendation to introduce same-sex marriage, 247 voted in favour and 48 against.

That is a whopping 84 per cent, or more than five in six, who voted to utterly overthrow the Word of God in favour of pleasing their own sinful desires and in favour of pleasing the sinful society around them.

This means the motion will be put out to consultation to Methodists in the pews over the next year before formal ratification of this ungodly move at next year’s conference.

As we have said previously, this ruling will come into effect next year in England, Scotland and Wales, but will not apply in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

What a sad day it is in which we live where those who claim to be God’s servants are leading the rejection of His Word.

Destruction is on its way when such a situation prevails as that which we are seeing today.

Isaiah 9:14-16: “Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

Those who are led by those who “teacheth lies” are “destroyed”, God’s Word says.

What a fearful thing it is to be in that position.

God has also clearly pronounced His wrath against those who speak their own sinful views and ascribe them to Him.

Jeremiah 23:31-32: “Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the Lord.”

Are not these individuals behind this report saying “he saith” as they blasphemously claim they are “being called by God” to give their blessing to same sex marriages?

‘Rev’ Naomi Cooke, one of the group’s members, appeared at the conference wearing a ‘Pride’ rainbow lanyard (pictured, above), while Rev Geoffrey Farrar took to Twitter after the vote to celebrate the support for that which God has condemned as an “abomination”.

Also among the Methodists who have seen fit to welcome this grievous decision is Rev Sam McBratney (pictured, below).

He is in a homosexual relationship himself (with another Methodist minister, no less) and is Chairman of a Methodist grouping called ‘Dignity and Worth’, the logo of which bears the ‘Pride’ rainbow colours.

On its website, it lists a number of things they believe in, the first of which is “radical diversity”.

This is what they say under that heading: “We rejoice that God has created LGBTQI+ people as part of that rich tapestry of life and we seek to celebrate this in worship.”

God hasn’t created “LGBTQI+” people, sin has created people who identify as such.

Matthew 19:4-6: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

In verse 6, Jesus says to “let not man put asunder” the union of man and woman through divorce, but it could just as easily be applied to the notion of a man and woman joining in union. Jesus clearly here endorses the creation principle of a man and a woman marrying one another. Nowhere is it countenanced that there might be another acceptable form of relationship.

Ironically, this group also claims one of its beliefs is “biblical fidelity”. Perhaps they forgot to type the ‘in’ ahead of the word fidelity when they were putting the website together.

A group called Methodist Evangelicals Together had called for a day of prayer two weeks ago as they sought to oppose this godless development, and we had referred to that in our previous article.

Their spokesperson, Rev David Hull, said he was “very saddened” by the move. That would be an understatement!

He also, foolishly, stated his opposition to separation from the Methodist Church at this point.

However, he did appear to endorse separating from the Methodist Church if sodomite ‘marriage’ is officially ratified next year.

He said: “I’m urging people not to leave just yet. I’m urging people to stay and to make the case for remaining faithful as long as we can.

“I don’t believe in division within the body of Christ but I do believe that we need to stand firmly on biblical teaching and so what I will be doing is, when asked the question, whether I continue to uphold the doctrine and discipline of the Methodist Church, if it changes I will have to say no at that point.”

For a church to even be considering officially blessing such wickedness is more than enough reason to separate immediately.

There are clergy within this church, such as Rev Sam McBratney, who are openly practising sodomites.

How could Rev David Hull not consider that a separation issue?

He should be sounding aloud the call of Revelation 18:4-5: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”

Even now Rev David Hull is compromised by remaining in a denomination which allows for sodomites to occupy its pulpits.

That being said, he is to be commended for at least voicing his opposition to this dreadful, brazen apostasy within the Methodist Church in Britain.

What we so desperately need in Ulster, Britain and the whole of Ireland, as well as elsewhere, is a heaven-sent revival.

Let us earnestly cry unto the Lord for a deliverance from the wicked attacks upon His Word and upon His people in our day and generation.

Then we might even share in the joy referred to in Psalm 126, which says: “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Methodist Church report claims God is calling them to hold ‘gay marriages’

Romans 1:28-32: “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

It is a sad sign of the truly apostate, godless age in which we have been called by God to live that churches are moving towards supporting the holding of same sex ‘marriages’.

The Quakers in Ireland last year ratified the holding of ‘marriages’ between two people of the same gender, despite the Bible calling such relationships an “abomination” (Leviticus 18:22), with the first such ‘union’ taking place in the Republic of Ireland earlier this year. This followed on from the Quakers in England supporting it a few years ago.

By the mercy of God, same sex ‘marriage’ remains illegal in Northern Ireland, so such moves by the Quakers have no effect here as yet.

The Church of Ireland, at its General Synod in 2017, narrowly rejected a motion to request public services of thanksgiving for same-sex relationships, with 176 against, 146 in favour and 24 abstaining.

The direction of travel is concerning to any true believer, and it is against this backdrop of apostasy that we see a report being brought to the Methodist Church in Britain’s Conference, running from 27 June to 4 July, which will support same sex marriage within the Methodist Church.

This abominable report has been brought by the Methodist Church’s ‘Marriage and Relationships Task Force’.

The Chair of the group is Rev Ken Howcroft (pictured, top), while other members we have been able to identify are Rev Ashley Cooper and ‘Rev’ Naomi Cooke (1 Timothy 2:12).

The 67 page report, which you can access yourself by clicking here, is Biblically illiterate, to put it generously. It is clearly written from a position of outright support for the introduction of sodomite ‘marriage’, with truly pathetic arguments proffered in favour of this outrageous abandonment of God’s Word.

Indeed they have the brass neck on them to claim that to hold sodomite ‘marriages’ in Methodist Churches is what God would want!

What rank apostasy this is.

This is the conclusion of the sorry, God-defying report.

It says: “We believe that, in awe and humility, the Methodist Church needs to recognise that it is being called by God to take the next steps in the development of its understanding of relationships and marriage. Those steps include enabling people of the same sex to commit themselves to each other in Christian marriage services.

“There is a strong case that, if marriage is what the Methodist Church says it is, and is as wonderful as it says it is, this Church cannot remain true to the God of justice and love by continuing to deny it to those same-sex couples who desire it so deeply.

“In recommending this move, the Task Group believes that we are responding to the promptings of the Spirit in the light of the gospel values and the trajectories of development that are recorded in the Scriptures overall. We believe that in taking this step, the Methodist Church will be being both scriptural and faithful.”

These individuals have the audacity to say they are “being called by God” to sanction the ‘marriage’ of individuals whose actions are described by God as “an abomination”.

They say they “cannot remain true” to God if they don’t do that and they are “responding to the prompting of the Spirit”.

What “Spirit” are they referring to? It is certainly not the Holy Spirit.

Indeed, to invoke His name is surely to be at grave risk of grieving the Holy Spirit, something we are told in Scripture will not be forgiven.

Mark 3:28-29 says: “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation”.

What a frightening risk to take with their souls.

The report also claims they are being “scriptural and faithful” in legislating for that which God has cursed.

What sorry, deluded people they are.

Within the report, they have rejected numerous Scripture proofs used to clearly demonstrate that sodomy is a sin cursed by God.

These include the following passages.

Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Leviticus 20:13: “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination”.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

1 Timothy 1:9-10: “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine”.

Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

They really are very clear yet these clerical compromisers strive to twist, contort, distort and obscure the Bible in such a way as to overthrow these clear passages and cast doubt over the integrity of God’s Word.

And it is all to meet their own sordid end of facilitating that which God calls an “abomination” in their church, and having the temerity to claim it is done with God’s seal of approval.

We can only pray that God will open their blinded eyes and forgive them of their wicked sin.

To go into all the detail of the pathetic, abominable rejection of Scripture carried out in this report in relation to the passages above would take too long, but we will address some of it.

It is quite clear there are wilful omissions of further Bible passages which pour even more cement on the iron-clad certainty of the point that God has cursed sodomy.

They proffer the pathetic argument that God destroyed Sodom due to the inhospitality shown to the angels of the Lord who visited Lot. We’re not sure what you think, dear reader, but we would describe attempted sodomite gang rape as being rather worse than inhospitable!

Indeed, they conveniently neglect to mention this passage from Jude v 6-7, which says: “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Eternal fire fell upon Sodom and Gomorrah for “going after strange flesh”. Perhaps the Methodist Task Group missed that.

They overthrow everything contained within the Levitical law, dribbling that “it is hard to pick out some of them as still binding and dispense with the others”.

The very verse after the Leviticus 18:22 prohibition of sodomy puts a ban on bestiality. Do we dispense with that too? What a pathetic argument.

And the old chestnut about temple worship is used to wish away Romans 1:26-27.

Anyone seen those words or a reference to that in this passage? Nope, us neither.

They spew out this: “Paul may be thinking of ritual prostitution and excessive sexual acts committed in connection with pagan cults and temples”.

Where does this come from? The passage says that homosexual acts of any kind are “vile affections”. It doesn’t say they are vile when connected to idolatrous practices, it is a blanket term for same-sex acts.

The document also singularly fails to point out that God created a woman for Adam and ordained the union of man and woman.

Genesis 2:24: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

This was reinforced by Jesus, who said in Matthew 19:4-5: “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

This is but a very small snapshot of the Biblical ignorance and indeed Biblical rejection of each of the individuals involved in compiling this report.

Each one of them ought to be ashamed of themselves.

The report will be brought to the Methodist Conference and, if accepted, will be “submitted to the wider church for consultation during 2019-2020, with a final decision being made at the 2020 Conference”.

As a response to this shameful move by the Methodist Church, which would apply in England, Scotland and Wales but not in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, a grouping called Methodist Evangelicals Together called for a day of prayer and fasting, to be held on Friday past.

If they are true evangelicals, it is hard to imagine what they are still doing in a denomination which is even considering such a God-defying move, but they are at least to be commended for sticking their head above the parapet against the in vogue sin of the age – sodomy. It is not an easy thing to do – just ask Israel Folau.

While faithfulness to God is not easy, especially in this grievously sinful age in which we live, let us all strive every day to be faithful to God, to love that which He loves and hate that which He hates.

And let us all pray for a mighty outpouring of His Spirit in our day and generation.

Let us pray for a revival.

It is the only thing that will turn the tide of sodomy and all other dreadful sins which so debauch, corrupt and defile our land today.

We are promised that this will come if we earnestly seek it.

Let us all resolve even to do so, starting even from now.

2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Will Methodist ministers stand up against transgender uniforms at Methody College?

Now the battle over sodomy is more or less won by the Christ deniers in the western world, the next battleground they have turned their attention to is transgenderism.

As was the case with sodomy, nothing but total surrender to the transgender cause will do, and all must fall before this sacred cow of secularism. If you don’t believe that’s how such servants of the devil operate, just look at the abuse received by anti-abortion and anti-sodomy sections of Northern Irish society for holding back the tide of depravity attempting to sweep through our land.

The same spirit as that highlighted in Habakkuk 2:5 is evident here. It says: “Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people”.

And to this end of ensuring total submission, and the other key tactic used by those seeking to overthrow the imprint of godliness on society – brainwashing the young – there are now moves afoot to incorporate transgender uniforms at Methody College in Belfast.

Methody is a colloquial short form for Methodist, and this college was founded by Methodists.

While the Methodist Church no longer has outright control over the school, there is still a significant influence from the church over the school.

No less than five members of the Board of Governors are Methodist ministers and we would sincerely hope they will do the right thing, the only proper thing to do in the circumstances, and speak out fearlessly and stridently against the consideration of indulging such wickedness in the school which bears their church’s name.

The five ministers concerned are Rev David Campton (pictured, top), Rev John Alderdice, ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, Rev John Stephens and ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth (pictured, below), who also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors.

All five are, according to the school’s website, ‘Trustee Governors’, who, the website explains, are “appointed by the Conference of the Methodist Church” to their positions.

So these people are in their position due to the decision taken by the Methodist Church’s equivalent of the General Synod in the Church of Ireland and General Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church.

They are in their position due to the decision taken by the highest authority of their church in this land and have a responsibility to represent Christ in their role.

Will they be faithful to God’s Word and take a voluble and determined stand against the efforts to cater for ungodliness in Methodist College?

Sadly, based on what we can establish of the past form of many of these Methodist ministers, the signs aren’t particularly good.

Rev John Alderdice (not to be confused with the Bible rejecter and deceitful subscriber to the Westminster Confession of Faith, Lord Alderdice, former leader of the ungodly ecumenical Alliance Party and Presbyterian elder who resigned when the Presbyterian Church decided to gently tighten up its lax attitude to sodomy) is no stranger to ignoring the Bible.

This is because Rev John Alderdice, who is Director of Ministry for the Methodist Church in Ireland (showing that apostasy pays in the Methodist Church), is an ecumenical canon of Down Cathedral in Downpatrick.

He was installed on the same night as a character we previously featured on this page, Canon Mark Harvey of Shankill Parish Church in Lurgan, County Armagh, a man who invited a Papist into his church to take part in a Remembrance service. He also brought the former UK Ambassador to the Pope, Romanist layman Francis Hughes, into his church at a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in 2018.

There were three canons introduced on that night at Down Cathedral (the trio are pictured, above, with Rev John Alderdice on the right), and the third was a Romanist monk, Brother Eric Loisel of the Benedictine Monastery in Rostrevor in County Down.

So this gives us an idea of the type of spiritual company which Rev John Alderdice sees fit to keep.

As for Rev David Campton and ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, they engaged in an ecumenical event with the Belfast Islamic Centre just last month.

Given this review of the uniform policy at Methody also includes provision for facilitating other faiths, and that surely will be conceived primarily, if not exclusively, with Muslims in mind, one would expect this to be rather relevant.

Of course, while the false religion of Islam will be and already is catered for, the Christian faith, which Methody’s origins are based in, is to be sidelined.

And ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth, who is, remember, Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors, is part of the team at the Centre for Contemporary Christianity in Ireland.

She is part of that team which includes such ‘luminaries’ as ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, the woman who served as Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission throughout the entire time that wretched organisation was prosecuting Asher’s Bakery for refusing to bake a cake bearing a slogan in favour of sodomite marriage.

Also involved is the Equality Commission’s Chief Commissioner, Michael Wardlow, the public face of the campaign to force Asher’s to ignore their sincerely held religious convictions.

And to cap it off you have Romanist Bishop of Derry Donal McKeown involved there as well.

This is despite Rome being a false religion which, in addition to various other blasphemies, most crucially denies the way to salvation.

And there you have ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth, who is also acting principal of Edgehill College, the training school for Methodist ministers, among that crew of religious compromisers and Bible rejecters. And that’s even laying aside the fact that the Bible prohibits her from being a minister (1 Timothy 2:12).

So, these credentials being established and laid out, can we be confident they will take a stand against the madness of transgenderism, madder still to be facilitated among the impressionable and emotionally less mature (generally) young, being facilitated in a school bearing their church’s name?

Well, they are going to have to prove themselves more faithful to the Bible in this matter than they have in other areas.

We will remind Rev David Campton, Rev John Alderdice, ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, Rev John Stephens and ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth of what the Bible has to say on the issue.

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Deuteronomy 22:5: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.”

Matthew 19:4: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female”.

In that third quotation, it is Jesus who is speaking, and he asks, “have ye not read?”

Should any or all of these ministers stand by and let such brazen rejection of Christ to be facilitated in their school, and to facilitate is to promote it as acceptable, then the question “have ye not read?” could very aptly be put to these clerics.

May God even work in their hearts to cause them to take a resolute stand against such wickedness which those campaigners for overthrowing the Word of God in our land are trying to foist on us.

If they don’t, we will remind them of the grave warning which God Himself has given to those who fail to take their stand for Him.

Ezekiel 3:18-19: “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

We would encourage any readers, especially in the Belfast area, who are concerned by this pandering to the LGBT agenda, to register their grave misgivings against these plans and take their stand for Christ.

We would also encourage any readers, especially those with connections to the Methodist Church, to contact those ministers and express your desire that they remember the Word of God when it comes to this matter.

Women helping lead ecumenical sell-out to Rome

Jeremiah 9:13-18: “And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them: Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. I will scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come: And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters.”

The Women’s World Day of Prayer is just one of the many events, held largely in what used to be Protestant churches but who have long since let go of any real semblance of Biblical Protestantism, which seeks to promote unity with the pagan Romanist system.

And last Friday, 1 March, we are aware of no less than 55 such outright rejections of God’s Word being held throughout our land.

No county in Northern Ireland remained untouched by this ecumenical compromise as the land was covered with rebellion against God.

Of course, it was done under the guise of Christianity, as the Protestant, Biblical principles of earnest contention for the faith (Jude v 3) and reproving the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) were thrown out the window, making the whole event nothing more than a sham.

And this sham crying out to God in these prayer events are reminiscent of the professional, false mourners employed in the days of Jeremiah, as referenced in the Scripture passage at the top of this article.

Just as they were employed to make a show of mourning and lamentation for the judgments of God befalling Judah, so, too, these women are leading a pretence of earnestness and zeal towards God.

However, by their involvement in such an ecumenical affair, both hosted in Romanist churches and advertised in Romanist parish bulletins, they are utterly subverting the gospel of Christ.

The teaching of Rome is so utterly contrary to the teaching of God’s Word that to even try to marry the two together is offensive.

Lest any should try to defend the purity of the Women’s World Day of Prayer, on its own website, it describes itself as “a worldwide ecumenical movement”.

And this is how it refers to the involvement of Romanists.

“It was not until the reforms of the second Vatican Council that Roman Catholic women were able to take a full part in the day of prayer and in 1967 the day was celebrated at a special service in Westminster Cathedral, by invitation of Cardinal Heenan.

“In 1969 the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organisations encouraged Roman Catholic women worldwide to participate in WDP and to make this possible WUCWO moved their own day of prayer from March to May.”

So Roman Catholics were eagerly invited to pray alongside supposed Protestants as soon as the Pope had given them the go-ahead.

Let us reiterate, this is the Women’s World Day of Prayer website saying this, condemning themselves with their own words.

And it is perhaps the subject of prayer which demonstrates one of the greatest contrasts between the teaching of Rome and the teaching of the Bible.

Rome teaches of prayer to Mary and to long dead so-called ‘saints’, despite this being repugnant to the Word of God.

Here is an example of a very common prayer said during the rosary by Roman Catholics.

“Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.”

What a dreadful utterance this is, and one which is made every day by millions of the poor, deluded adherents of Rome.

Where the address of “holy Queen” comes from, we do not know, but it certainly does not come from the Bible. At no point throughout the Scriptures is Mary referred to in this manner. It is a plainly unscriptural title.

They speak of “crying” to Mary and “sending up their sighs” and call her a “most gracious Advocate”.

This is clearly blasphemous nonsense, as the Bible very obviously demonstrates. Our sole advocate is Jesus Christ, we don’t approach the Father through Mary, but it is only through His precious Son.

1 John 2:1: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”

1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”.

The prayer also includes the blasphemous phrase “show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus”.

We don’t approach Jesus through Mary, or through anyone else, we can come directly to Him.

Hebrews 4:14-16: “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

This is a very common example of the sort of prayers offered up by Roman Catholics, and as such why would anyone want to join in prayer with those who freely utter such grave blasphemies?

Yet here we have it being encouraged and practised throughout our land.

It matters not whether devotions to Mary were expressed at any of these meetings, this is a very clear demonstration of the rejection of God’s Word on the crucial matter of separation from false worship.

Were any of the Roman Catholic devotees at these meetings clutching rosary beads as they prayed? Some of these events were held in Romanist chapels, meaning all those in attendance were surrounded by the idols and images which are adored by Roman Catholics.

Those Romanist chapels involved were in Limavady, County Londonderry, Glenavy, County Antrim and in Kilmore, County Armagh.

We have compiled a list of churches of whom we are aware of having hosted a celebration of this ungodly festival, which is at the bottom of this article.

If you or anyone you know is connected with any of these churches, won’t you please separate yourself or implore those you know to do so.

We ought to put faithfulness to God and His Word far above some misguided loyalty to a church which ignores and shuns its responsibilities.

East Belfast Mission facilitates ecumenical festival headlined by Jesuit priest

2 John 1:9-11: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

The ungodly, ecumenical quasi political, quasi religious event that is the Four Corners Festival took place in the opening part of February, with lots of ever so worthy events taking place, organised by lots of ever so worthy people.

Chief among these events and people was the keynote visit of a Jesuit priest, called ‘Father’ Gregory Boyle, to speak at the Skainos Centre on the Newtownards Road in the overwhelmingly Protestant east Belfast area.

Indeed, that geographical area also gives its name to the organisation which owns the Skainos Centre – the East Belfast Mission (EBM).

Readers of ‘Protestant Revival’ may well be familiar with the East Belfast Mission as we highlighted this grouping, itself an offshoot of the Methodist Church, very recently.

One of its key figures is Rev Andrew Irvine, who outrageously addressed a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan, County Armagh back in January.

This is a quote from Skainos’ own website, which says: “Skainos gathers under one roof all aspects of the work undertaken by EBM including homelessness services, employability, social economy projects, youth work, family work, community development and peace building as well as a vibrant worshipping community.”

So we have confirmation that Skainos is an East Belfast Mission ran centre.

And this means that the Skainos Centre, and therefore the East Belfast Mission and Methodist Church, is complicit in not only hosting an ungodly ecumenical event, but one at which a Jesuit priest was the star attraction.

Let us not forget who the Jesuits are.

They are the Romanist order set up in response to the Protestant Reformation, with the sole purpose of reaffirming the supremacy of the Papacy in suppressing the rise of Protestantism, and that by any means necessary.

Untold millions of Christians, Muslims and Jews were killed throughout the centuries long Inquisition led by this Romanist order.

This is an organisation whose founding aim was the snuffing out of the gospel light so gloriously unveiled and spread abroad by God through the likes of Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Knox.

Yet here we have the East Belfast Mission facilitating a representative of this wretched order, officially called the ‘Society of Jesus’ (look out for the initials SJ after a priests’ name to indicate one), spreading his deceits. The current Pope, in fact, is a Jesuit.

What a wretched situation this is.

Sadly, this is far from the first instance of the promotion of Jesuits and Jesuitry we have highlighted on this page.

Last February, we featured a God-defying Lenten prayer service in St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, always a hub of ecumenical folly, at which Jesuit priest ‘Father’ Tom Leyden was the speaker. The prayer service was held in the Ignatian tradition, referring to Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, which you can read about by clicking here.

And in November, we brought to light the absolutely disgraceful promotion and glorification of Ignatius of Loyola by Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson. You can read his truly heretical comments by clicking here.

Now here we have again more people who would claim to be servants of God allowing Jesuits into their premises to propagate their lies.

In addition to Rev Andrew Irvine, another prominent minister who is responsible for what goes on at Skainos is Rev Brian Anderson (pictured, top).

He is currently the President of the Irish Council of Churches, which gives you a clear indication of his ecumenical stance.

Both Rev Brian Anderson and Rev Andrew Irvine are culpable in allowing this proponent of Rome’s deceptions to take the stage in the building belonging to the East Belfast Mission.

Rev Brian Anderson is the Superintendent of the East Belfast Mission and Rev Andrew Irvine (pictured, below) is the Chief Executive.

Why do they allow a Jesuit priest to have a platform in their building?

Why do they allow such a God-dishonouring spectacle as the Four Corners Festival to be held in their building?

Do they believe the Roman Catholic Church leads people to salvation?

Do they believe there is merit in the Romanist teachings of prayer to Mary and long-dead so-called ‘Saints’? Or the fictitious venue of purgatory? Or the Mass? Or Rome’s outright denial of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone?

What do they actually believe?

To allow your premises to be used for the promotion of ecumenism and especially for a meeting pandering to a Jesuit, is a violation of God’s command to “be ye separate” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

And to reject God’s Word and disobey His commands is a foolish and dangerous thing.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 highlights this. It says: “Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

There can be no doubt this is a diminishing of God’s commandment which God in this passage advises them to follow, “that ye might live”.

Death follows the rejection of God’s commandments.

This is a battle we must all wage in our own lives, to remain in obedience to God.

Further down the same chapter in Deuteronomy 4:9 we are told: “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons”.

Let us be determined not to throw off the commandments of God.

Sadly, this is what has happened in much of the professing church of Christ in the past century. Sons and sons’ sons have not been instructed as they ought to have been, making way for all manner of Christ rejection to be front and centre of so many churches.

And this attitude of disobedience has created the sorry state in religious affairs which allows the like of a Jesuit priest to be welcomed in with open arms by two of the most senior figures of the Methodist Church to an event organised by a Presbyterian minister.

We as true believers are partly responsible for allowing these who bring dishonour to the name of Christ to engage in their wicked acts.

Have we been active enough in our opposition to these individuals?

Have we just tutted about it privately to those we know are in agreement with us?

Have we just turned our heads the other way so as not to look upon what is being done by those children of disobedience?

As the people of God, we need to “earnestly contend for the faith” in any which way we can and send a message out loud and clear to the compromiser, ecumenist and apostate that we will not sit back and allow them to drag our land down with their rejection of the true gospel of Christ and drag poor, blinded sinners to hell by refusing to “declare all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).

Let us be bold like Elijah who, when faced by that old reprobate Ahab, who had the cheek to accuse God’s servant of being a troublemaker, straightly told Ahab the right way of things.

1 Kings 18:17-18: “And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.”

Elijah told Ahab that his rejection of God had brought the trouble upon Israel and it is Ulster’s deepening apostasy, led by the architects of ecumenical deceit in our land, which has brought such trouble to our doorstep.

We have had plenty of warnings, but still the people of God slumber in failing to speak against it as they should.

Isaiah 9:13-16: “For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

We can bemoan sin but do nothing about it. This was the stance of Eli when confronted with the wickedness of his sons, Hophni and Phinehas.

1 Samuel 2:23-24: “And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord’s people to transgress.”

That was as far as Eli went, he took no action against them and he was punished.

1 Samuel 2:29-30, 34-35 says: “Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.”

Let us not be afraid to take our stand in this day of apostasy, and let us openly challenge any who would seek to denigrate the cause of Christ, whether they come in grand clerical garb, carry the prefix ‘Rev’ to their name or claim to be acting for God when it is obvious they are doing no such thing.

Even as the words of verse 30 of 1 Samuel 2 tell us, “them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed”.
