‘I hate’ the gospel being preached at funerals – King’s Church leader Glen Mitchell

Romans 10:14: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Several so-called ‘Christian’ ministers have cravenly fallen over themselves to indulge an abortion fanatic who blasted a minister for preaching the gospel at a funeral she had attended.

Kellie Turtle, a brazen campaigner for abortion, the euphemistic term for baby murder, vented her God-defying ire on Twitter after apparently attending a funeral where a minister preached the gospel message of the necessity of salvation from sins in order to go to heaven when we die.

Her disgraceful message is as follows: “Northern Irish Christian clergy: please, from the bottom of my heart, stop using funerals to tell ppl (sic) they should think about where they want to spend eternity. It’s crass and unlikely to ever bring anyone to faith. Just walk with ppl (sic) in grief and be grateful they invited you in.

“Note: other more subtle versions are just as unwelcome. Even the most lovely & comforting homily can leave ppl (sic) cold if you can’t help but throw in a bit about getting right with the Lord. Just speak love over ppl (sic) in pain and if God is who you say they are, they will do the rest”.

And so jumped in a number of compromising clerics, eager to show their disdain for true gospel preaching.

Quick to point out his opposition to the sharing of the need for salvation to those confronted by the brevity and fragility of this life was none other than Biblical creation denier Glen Mitchell, the pastor of King’s Church in Bangor, County Down.

Glen Mitchell has also, quite outrageously, previously expressed his great disappointment that the town hall in Newtownards, near to Bangor, would not be lit up to celebrate sodomite ‘Pride’.

He jumped in to say: “Oh I hate that. So sorry.” This comment was ‘liked’ by Kellie Turtle.

So Glen Mitchell, an allegedly Christian pastor, has publicly declared that he “hates” preaching the need for salvation at funerals.

Another minister always keen to demonstrate his variance with true Christianity, Rev Steve Stockman (pictured, below) of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, was another to jump on this wretched bandwagon.

Replying to Kellie Turtle’s comment, he said: “Preach it sister”.

So Rev Steve Stockman, the man who preaches the gospel according to an exemplar of sin like Lady Gaga and the founder, alongside a Jesuit priest, of the ecumenical Four Corners Festival is endorsing the ‘preaching’ of hatred towards the sharing of the gospel while expressing his opposition to the preaching laid out in God’s Word which seeks to bring souls to Christ.

That is very instructive indeed.

Another Presbyterian cleric making clear their opposition to warning souls of their eternal destiny should they die in their sin is ‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban.

‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban is a notable ecumenist and compromiser.

Indeed, last year she was one of four allegedly Protestant clerics who preached during the blasphemous novena at the Romanist Clonard Monastery, while she has been outspoken on the matter of homosexuality within the church.

At last year’s General Assembly, she was one of the voices, alongside the like of ‘LGBT Christian’ endorsing Rev John Dickinson of Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, to stress her opposition to moves made in 2018 to restrict open homosexuals from full communicant membership and bar the baptism of children in the care of same-sex couples.

And, more outrageously still, perhaps, she was listed to be one of the speakers at a despicable event planned by Church of Ireland minister and Mid Ulster ‘Pride’ sodomite grouping vice-Chairman Rev Andrew Rawding back in April, but which had to be called off due to the coronavirus pandemic, entitled ‘Blessed are the Queer’. One can be sure someone invited to such an event will not be favouring the Biblical view on such matters.

What she said in response to this disgraceful tweet from Kellie Turtle was: “Dear Kellie, I’m so sorry… I’m sure the guy thought he was doing the right thing… but seriously, it’s so harmful.”

There you go – preaching the gospel “is so harmful”, according to a supposed ‘minister’ of the gospel.

And another alleged ‘minister’, or ‘pastor’, the peculiar Karen Sethuraman, was another to jump in on the side of the world against the Lord.

Peculiar in the sense that she claims to be the “first woman Baptist minister on the island of Ireland”, despite her ‘qualification’ coming from Baptists Together, the association for Baptists in England and Wales, rather than Ireland, be it on either side of the border.

She is also a very vocal feminist aiming to smash the patriarchy and other such nonsense.

She must also be keen on stamping God’s Word underfoot by firstly taking on a role forbidden her by God (see 1 Timothy 2:12) and now stressing her deep opposition to preaching the gospel at funerals.

Karen Sethuraman jumped in to the discussion with several unbiblical offerings, starting with this: “I’m so sorry if this was your experience. What on Earth is with some clergy. I’m disgusted… I’m so so sorry.”

Kellie Turtle replied to this with Karen Sethuraman then chipping in again: “I’m so sorry. Unfortunately, I have had many other people who have shared this happening to them. It’s just completely wrong on all sorts of levels. Sending love to you guys xo.”

“Sending love” over social media and sticking an “xo” on the end of a message will do any sinner in need of being told of the cure for their sin a fat lot of good, won’t it?

Our verse at the top of this passage asks the very reasonable, rhetorical question “how shall they hear without a preacher?” If the so-called preacher refuses to tell them their need of salvation then they have no hope of avoiding a lost eternity in hell.

Yet Karen Sethuraman is “disgusted” by this.

It is any true Bible-believing Christian who ought to be disgusted by her attitude.

Funerals are, obviously, fraught, distressing and stressful times for all concerned.

No minister will want to upset those in attendance by his manner of preaching, but can still go about sharing the full gospel message in a sensitive, yet clear, manner.

The true minister isn’t there just to protect people’s feelings, he won’t deliberately hurt their feelings but he won’t be a lily-livered compromiser simply to avoid causing any offence.

Very often a funeral is the only time some people will ever be through the doors of a church and what is actually disgusting, hateful and so harmful is when ministers like those above refuse to warn those in attendance that they need to be ready to die.

Hebrews 9:27 warns us that “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment”.

Judgment is coming, James 5:8 warns us that “the coming of the Lord draweth nigh”.

God will “render to every man according to his deeds”, Romans 2:6 tells us.

If we don’t confess our sin to God and ask for his forgiveness, we face an eternity in hell.

If we refuse to confess our sin, we are in effect telling God we don’t need His forgiveness. Such a state is very dangerous indeed.

1 John 1:8-10 points this out while also showing the promise of salvation to those who truly repent.

It says: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

The verse prior to that passage finished off by telling us that “the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin”.

Jesus came into this world, taking on the form of a man, so that He might take our sin upon Himself and be a perfect once for all sacrifice at Calvary for sin.

All we have to do is believe on Him and seek forgiveness for our sins and we will be forgiven and spend all eternity in heaven.

This is such wonderful news, if you are a minister of this good news, would you not want to share it with everyone? Would you not want to share it as regularly as possible? Would you not be desperate for those you see and meet to take Jesus Christ as their Saviour?

We go back to the very start – “how shall they hear without a preacher?”

Paul, speaking to the church of Ephesus, said in Acts 20:27 that “I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God”.

Paul didn’t hold back on the parts of the gospel which were displeasing to unconverted ears, he didn’t soft soap the gospel message to keep in with those around them.

Neither should any minister who wants to please their Heavenly Father.

Dear reader, if you, or anyone you know, is in any way coming under the spiritual guidance of Glen Mitchell, Rev Steve Stockman, ‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban or Karen Sethuraman, won’t you separate yourself immediately and implore those you know to do likewise.

‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban (pictured, above) is, for example, the Presbyterian Church chaplain to Ulster University – is your child, grandchild, nephew, niece, brother, sister, friend, currently attending that university and coming under her guidance?

Let us shout aloud the need for gospel truth and, whether Glen Mitchell, Rev Steve Stockman, ‘Rev’ Cheryl Meban or Karen Sethuraman want to protect souls from an eternity in hell or not, please don’t allow those in your life, be it family, friends or work colleagues or associates, to go unwarned over the danger their never-dying soul is in each day they go on without Christ as their Saviour.

Be the good watchman, not the unfaithful watchman.

Ezekiel 3:17-19: “Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

Presbyterian church promotes ‘the gospel according to Lady Gaga’

Psalm 12:8: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.”

There have been a few occasions when writing articles for ‘Protestant Revival’ that we have been scarcely able to believe the headline going above it, such has been the mindboggling nature of what is being carried out in God’s name.

This is one such occasion.

Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, on Sunday night past, held their evening service on the subject, ‘The gospel according to female pop stars’.

Among the singers whose ungodly musical compositions were being performed was Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Jessie J.

Rev Steve Stockman (pictured, top) is the minister of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast and he is a noted ecumenist.

He runs the ungodly Four Corners Festival each year in Belfast alongside a Jesuit priest, ‘Father’ Martin Magill, and is a proud Romish compromiser, having taken over that mantle occupied by the previous minister there, the Rome-loving Ken Newell, whose God-defiance you can get a flavour of by clicking here.

Writing on his blog about this service, Rev Steve Stockman says: “Sunday night’s Gospel According To… in Fitzroy is a landmark edition!

“For ten years we have been doing U2 (a lot of U2), Springsteen, Dylan, Cohen, Morrison, Mitchell et al. Of course we have also done Les Miserables and The West End and a Family series that included Harry Potter, Narnia, Nemo and the Lion King.

“But… the music has not been too young! So, The Gospel According To… Female Pop Stars is brand new territory, hopefully bringing the average age of the attendance down! However, if you are an old fogey cynic this one might be more vital for you than any that we have done. Learn about the generation that took over from you a while back!

“Even more exciting is that this is a youth, more edgy edition, curated and performed by a younger edgier collaborative. Hear younger voices sing younger songs!

“Come on down. It’ll help you look at identity, the pressures of a youth culture and how God’s good grace speaks into the yearnings of a generation. Expect Gaga, Perry and Jesse J (sic) among other writers covered!”

So there you have it, Rev Steve Stockman rather succinctly rhymes off why his church should have been studiously avoided for the past 10 years and then demonstrates why, if anything, it is only getting worse.

The specific pop ‘stars’ he is referring to are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Jessie J, though Rev Steve Stockman spelled it incorrectly above.

It is a sign of a wicked age when evil people are lifted up as being noble and worthy of admiration and emulation.

That is the theme of the verse at the top of this article, though in this case we are speaking of women, rather than men.

Lady Gaga is a particularly repellent public figure and is known for her vocal and persistent support for the LGBT agenda.

Wikipedia says she is a bisexual and “actively supports LGBT rights worldwide” and has been named by ‘The Advocate’, a sodomite publication in the USA, as a “fierce advocate” for “gays and lesbians”.

One of her most famous songs, ‘Born This Way’, is considered an LGBT anthem and, upon reading the lyrics, it is easy to see why.

Here are some of the lines from the song:

“No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to survive

I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way”

Is this the sort of message or messenger you would want promoted in a church, or, indeed, anywhere?

The only line above with which you could agree is that “God makes no mistakes”, but Lady Gaga is using this as a way to endorse the lifestyle choices of homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender people and any other perversion of God’s will you could think of, by claiming God creates people to be like this.

What a foul blasphemy.

Another blasphemous reference in this song is when she sings “a different lover is not a sin, believe capital H-I-M”, a clear reference to God, claiming God has said it is the case that you can be the “lover” of whomever you choose.

She also repeats the line on several occasions, “don’t be a drag, just be a queen”, making reference to another sinful perversion being flaunted in our faces in this sinful day, that of drag queens (though the DUP’s Paula Bradley seems content with such filthiness).

Lest there remain any lingering doubt over the message or motivations behind this song, this is what Lady Gaga said herself about it in an interview quoted on her Wikipedia page.

“I want to write my this-is-who-the-f***-I-am anthem, but I don’t want it to be hidden in poetic wizardry and metaphors. I want it to be an attack, an assault on the issue because I think, especially in today’s music, everything gets kind of washy sometimes and the message gets hidden in the lyrical play.

“Hearkening back to the early ’90s, when Madonna, En Vogue, Whitney Houston and TLC were making very empowering music for women and the gay community and all kind of disenfranchised communities, the lyrics and the melodies were very poignant and very gospel and very spiritual and I said, ‘That’s the kind of record I need to make. That’s the record that’s going to shake up the industry’.”

Pretty unambiguous, isn’t it?

She said she didn’t want to “hide behind poetic wizardry and metaphors” but rather wanted to “attack” and “assault” and didn’t want her “message” to get “hidden in the lyrical play”.

So this is a naked, brazen attack on Christianity, the Bible, morality and decency.

Then, referring to music produced by other singers in the 1990s, she has the outright cheek to say pro-sodomy music was “very gospel and very spiritual”.

Make no mistake, this is a woman who is at the vanguard of the rage against God and she is influencing who knows how many millions to join her.

This is a woman doing the devil’s work very effectively, and on a large scale, yet Rev Steve Stockman of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church is parading her music at his Sunday evening service, a meeting which in many churches, including his denomination, historically has an especially strong focus on preaching the gospel of Jesus dying on the cross and shedding His blood that we might be saved if we place our faith and trust in Him and pray for forgiveness of sins.

To trade in such a service for one exalting one of the most famous LGBT campaigners in the world is especially repugnant.

As for the other two names mentioned, both Katy Perry and Jessie J are dreadfully inappropriate examples to encourage others to follow.

Again according to Wikipedia, Jessie J was a bisexual and told a radio show in 2011: “I’ve never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I’ve dated girls and I’ve dated boys – get over it.”

That is not the type of dismissive language she will use when she stands before God to account for her sins, if she fails to repent and come to Him for salvation.

Romans 14:11-12: “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Her Wikipedia page then states that “in April 2014, Jessie J renounced her bisexuality, stating, ‘For me, it was a phase. But I’m not saying bisexuality is a phase for everybody’.”

What it is in fact, is a perversion of God’s will for His creation, as Jesus Himself attested in Matthew 19:4-5 which says: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

As for Katy Perry, she is another fierce advocate of so-called LGBT “rights”.

Once more from Wikipedia, we are told that “Perry has publicly advocated for LGBT rights”.

It also states that “in December 2012, Perry was awarded the Trevor Hero Award by The Trevor Project for her work and activism on behalf of LGBT youth. On March 18, 2017, she received a Nation Equality Award from Human Rights Campaign for ‘using her powerful voice and international platform to speak out for LGBTQ equality’.”

And so it continues on her page with more instances of her avowed support for that which God has called an “abomination” and “against nature”.

How can anyone recommend these individuals to their church’s followers and support the performing of their music in a church service?

The very thought would be laughable, were it not so serious.

This is but a foretaste of that which Paul speaks of in 2 Thessalonians 2 when he speaks of the end of this age.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12: “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

There is surely a strong delusion at large among so much of what professes to be of God, but it will be shown to nothing more than “deceivableness of unrighteousness”.

What a sad day it is in which we live where the musical compositions of those who have set themselves against God is held up as something to be admired in a service which is supposedly bringing glory to God’s name.

When we see such wickedness all around us, let us take comfort in Christ and pray to God that He might work in the hearts of those who are propagating such vileness and those who are taken in by it.

May we desire even to see the promise of God in the valley of the dry bones be replicated in the lives of those who are doing damage to the cause of Christ in our land.

Ezekiel 36:26-28: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

Every mainstream Protestant church in Ulster offers support to Mary worshipping group

Hebrews 4:14-16: “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

A dreadfully sad event took place in Ulster late last month as a large-scale ecumenical convention took place in our little land, blessed so gloriously in times past by God.

The 38th annual ecumenical meeting of the Focolare Movement took place in Belfast, Larne and other venues across Northern Ireland from 21 to 25 October.

The Focolare Movement is a grouping we have previously mentioned on ‘Protestant Revival’.

We did so in April last year when highlighting the blasphemous Ballycastle Prayer Partnership which operates out of Ballycastle Presbyterian Church, on the north coast of Northern Ireland.

At that time we highlighted how Ballycastle Presbyterian Church had, in 2014, played host to a Service of Prayer for Christian Unity as part of the Focolare Movement’s Mariapolis.

This is how we described it at that time: “The Focolare Movement is a Roman Catholic movement whose chief goals are ‘to cooperate in the consolidation of unity in the Christian world, with individuals and groups, movements and associations; to contribute to full communion with Christians of different churches; and to work towards universal brother / sisterhood of all peoples, regardless of religious beliefs’.

“Pope Francis, speaking in relation to the grouping, has said: “The Work of Mary, that everyone knows as the Focolare Movement…”

“It is another method by which the Roman Catholic Church worships Mary and the Focolare Movement’s Mariapolis is a medium by which this is carried out. Mariapolis means “city of Mary” and wherever the event is held, that place becomes a “city of Mary”.

“Therefore, by celebrating this God defying festival, Ballycastle Presbyterian Church made itself part of the “city of Mary”. What utter blasphemy!”

So now, in late October 2019, we had this same Mary worshipping organisation running an ecumenical conference which was cheered on by EVERY major church in Northern Ireland.

Obviously, the Romanists were supporting it as they are ardent practitioners of Mariolatry.

So, too, was the Church of Ireland as the Most Ecumenical Archbishop Richard Clarke (pictured, above) “paid tribute to this important type of dialogue” with Rome, while his comments were “endorsed by the Rev Brian Anderson, President of the Irish Council of Churches, the Rev Sam McGuffin (pictured, top), President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, and the Very Rev Ivan Patterson, present at the meeting on behalf of the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland”.

So there you have it, this article we have quoted from the Church of Ireland Diocese of Connor confirms that the Church of Ireland, Methodist Church and Presbyterian Church have given their endorsement of ecumenical fellowshipping with a group which exists to exalt Mary.

The Focolare Movement organised ecumenical conference featured 30 bishops from 18 different churches in 14 countries and, during their stay here, “the bishops visited Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, Belfast; the Methodist Skainos Centre at the East Belfast Mission; the Corrymeela Community and toured Belfast city.”

Fitzroy Presbyterian Church is the clerical domain of ardent ecumenist Rev Steve Stockman, co-organiser, along with a Jesuit priest, of the ungodly Four Corners Festival in Belfast each year, and it is no surprise to see him hosting such an event.

The Corrymeela Community is the home of ecumenism in Northern Ireland and is an objectionable organisation, specifically set up to destroy doctrinal difference between traditionally Protestant churches and the false religion of Romanism.

And the Methodist Skainos Centre at the East Belfast Mission is also interesting.

The East Belfast Mission’s Chief Executive, Andrew Irvine (pictured, below) was the speaker at an ecumenical Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan in County Armagh in January.

And the East Belfast Mission’s Skainos Centre was the venue a month later for the visit of a Jesuit priest, a ‘Father’ Gregory Boyle, during the aforementioned Four Corners Festival.

The report on the Diocese of Connor website continues and says: “On the evening of 24 October, the bishops participated at an uplifting Choral Evensong in St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast. Immediately afterwards they walked together to the neighbouring Roman Catholic Church of St Patrick, Donegall Street. There, during a moving ecumenical service, a solemn commitment in the light of Jesus’ New Commandment, to love one another’s church and consider each other’s crosses as their own, so that all may be one.”

They really were taking in the tour of the most notorious and noxious religious venues to God, adding in St Anne’s Cathedral, second only to Corrymeela for its wretched rejection of God’s Word in the ecumenical deceit, and then paid a visit to a Romanist chapel for a “moving ecumenical service”.

Ludicrously and, indeed, wilfully changing the Bible to suit their ungodly ends, the report states that these bishops made “a solemn commitment in the light of Jesus’ New Commandment, to love one another’s church”.

Sorry, but where was that in what Jesus said?

These clerical deceivers are clearly distorting and abusing Matthew 22:39, which says: “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Where does Jesus say to love other people’s churches? Where does He say that we are to love a church which rejects His Word? This is deliberate twisting of the Bible.

Indeed, it is more than twisting, it is downright falsehood.

But upon such lies the ecumenical movement has always been built, for God is truth and their schemes are not built on God.

Speaking of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said in John 16:13: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

God the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and it is clear those behind and supporting such initiatives are not being led by the Holy Spirit, but rather are teaching for doctrines things which are at variance with God’s Word.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 warns of this. It says: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron”.

These religious leaders have departed from the faith and are speaking their lies in hypocrisy and feel not the slightest hint of guilt about it, as their consciences are seared.

They are giving themselves over to the blasphemies of the Roman Catholic Church and encouraging unity with Rome.

One of the chief blasphemies of Rome is its teaching that we ought to pray to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus, and this unbiblical exaltation of a saved, yet sinful woman, is a key foundational principal of the Focolare Movement which organised this ecumenical shindig.

There is NO Biblical justification for praying to any other than God.

Indeed, in one of the great prayer meetings of the book of Acts, Mary is recorded as being in attendance. Did any of the 120 or so other attendees address their prayers to Mary? Of course not.

Mary was part of the group addressing their prayers and petitions to God, whom Mary herself called “my Saviour”.

Acts 1:13-14 says: “And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”

They continued in “one accord”, there was no disharmony, nobody was praying at crossed purposes to different people.

What a blasphemy it is and what a disgrace it is to fellowship with and endorse the ecumenical dialogue being carried out by the Focolare Movement.

Yet this is what Most Ecumenical Richard Clarke, head of the Church of Ireland, has done.

Yet this is what Rev Sam McGuffin (perhaps Rev Sam McBluffin would be better, as he appears to only he purporting to be a minister of the gospel by endorsing such falsehood), head of the Methodist Church in Ireland, has done.

Yet this is what Rev William Henry, head of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, has allowed to be done in his name by one of his denomination’s ministers, Very Rev Ivan Patterson.

Dear reader who may still be caught up in these mainstream churches in Ulster, don’t you see that these men are not putting the service of God first? Rather they are prioritising ecumenical compromise and fellowship with those who blaspheme God and His Word over and above the almighty God of heaven.

Let us be that “peculiar people” as Peter, under the inspiration of God, described it, let us be separated unto Christ.

We are instructed to “go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach” (Hebrews 13:13).

There is no true unity or peace in refusing to separate from churches which have overthrown the Word of God.

Those who deny God and engage in ecumenical sell-out of their glorious Protestant heritage are the schismatics, for they are the ones who are causing the division by dividing themselves from Christ.

Let us then cleave to God rather than to institutions which may well mean much to us, and it is understandable that they may well do.

But let us be so determined to be separated unto Christ that nothing will stop us from cleaving to him.

Paul said in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Look at the lengths and the depths of Christ’s love for the believer, do we not owe it to Christ to have a determination to, as much as in us lies, be similarly devoted to Him?

Let us even choose faithfulness to God over familiarity with and fondness to our church, should that be a denomination which has deserted Him and done despite to His cause.

2 Corinthians 6:17: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

Presbyterian minister new leader of ecumenical den of iniquity, Corrymeela

Ezekiel 13:2-5, 8-10: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God. And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God. Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace”.

A Presbyterian minister has taken over as the new Leader of the Corrymeela Community, the leading hub of ecumenical compromise in our land.

The Rev Alex Wimberly (pictured, top) has taken up the role which pays in the region of £50,000 per year, replacing outgoing Leader, the sodomite Romanist Padraig O Tuama.

Now, if you knew nothing else of the Corrymeela Community, the fact that its previous leader was a sodomite Romanist would tell you all you need to know.

The teachings of the Church of Rome are utterly repugnant to the Word of God.

The Mass, Purgatory, Mariolatry, offering of prayers for the dead, idolatry, relics and, worst of all, denial of salvation by faith alone, all mark Rome out as utterly contrary to Christianity.

Sodomy, meanwhile, is so obviously classed as a grave sin by God that for any to try to say otherwise demonstrates an individual who has rejected the Bible.

For those who perhaps may not be overly aware of the Corrymeela Community, it is an avowedly ecumenical organisation seeking to promote religious unity between Protestants and Catholics.

It has been weaving its web of deceit from its base on the north coast of Northern Ireland, in the town of Ballycastle, for more than 50 years.

Indeed, the supposedly Protestant Presbyterian Church has been instrumental in propagating this anti-Christian organisation from the outset.

Its first Leader and founder was Rev Ray Davey, a Presbyterian minister. He was replaced as Leader by Rev John Morrow, another Presbyterian minister, who had also played a key role in the foundation of the den of deceit in Ballycastle.

It is interesting to note that the centre was founded in 1965, several years before the euphemistically entitled ‘Troubles’ (read, armed Romanist uprising against the lawful rulers of the land) began.

Given Corrymeela loves to position itself as some sort of conflict resolution centre, it is very instructive it was founded before the bloodshed began, further demonstrating this was a place set up to promote ecumenical compromise.

And now we have another Presbyterian minister taking the leading role in rejecting the Word of God.

Rev Alex Wimberly was formerly the minister of McCracken Memorial Presbyterian Church in Belfast, spreading his ecumenical nonsense there for seven years, before taking up a role as chaplain at Corrymeela.

Has he been chucked out of the Presbyterian Church? What do you think?

The Presbyterian Church seems to tolerate all sorts of inappropriate characters in its pulpits and in association with it.

There is Rev Steve Stockman, a brazen ecumenist and organiser of the ungodly Four Corners Festival, who is the long-time minister of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church.

Then you have Rev Lesley Carroll (pictured, above), former minister of Fortwilliam and Macrory Presbyterian Church in Belfast who was Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission throughout the Asher’s Bakery saga.

Add to that the likes of ‘Rev’ Liz Hughes and Rev John Dickinson (pictured, below), the great Carnmoney crowd surfer, who both have given their backing to LGBT campaigner and so-called Christian, Vicky Beeching.

There are others we could name, but this is surely plenty to cause serious alarm among any who subscribe to the Presbyterian Church.

There are many warnings in Scripture about refusing to deal with sin.

One of the most clear of these can be found in God’s dealing with the children of Israel in the book of Judges.

They were instructed to utterly drive out those who worshipped false gods.

They failed to do so and God’s judgement fell.

Judges 2:2-3: “And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.”

By making peace with sin, the Presbyterian Church put itself in this position.

Will the Presbyterian Church make any moves to oppose such wickedness being carried out by one of its ordained ministers at a centre devoted to compromise with Rome?

We would encourage all readers to make their objections to this situation known clearly by contacting directly their own local Presbyterian minister, whether you are a Presbyterian or not, and also to contact the Clerk of the Presbyterian Church, Rev Trevor Gribben.

You can do this in a number of ways:

1. By writing to Assembly Buildings, 2-10 Fisherwick Place, Belfast, BT1 6DW

2. By emailing clerk@presbyterianireland.org

3. By phoning (028) 9041 7208

Don’t let them fob you off by saying Rev Alex Wimberly’s role is independent of the Presbyterian Church, he remains a minister of the Presbyterian Church.

Will the Presbyterian Church take any stand against Rev Alex Wimberly assuming the role of leading ecumenism in Northern Ireland?

This is a very important question and we can rightly make the challenge to the Presbyterian Church, just as Joshua did to the children of Israel, outlined in Joshua 24:15.

It says: “Choose you this day whom ye will serve”.

Going by its previous track record, this church has chosen apostasy.

Regardless of what the Presbyterian Church does or doesn’t do, let us be determined to serve the Lord and have the same resolution as did Joshua at the end of that same verse.

Let us say, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”.

East Belfast Mission facilitates ecumenical festival headlined by Jesuit priest

2 John 1:9-11: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

The ungodly, ecumenical quasi political, quasi religious event that is the Four Corners Festival took place in the opening part of February, with lots of ever so worthy events taking place, organised by lots of ever so worthy people.

Chief among these events and people was the keynote visit of a Jesuit priest, called ‘Father’ Gregory Boyle, to speak at the Skainos Centre on the Newtownards Road in the overwhelmingly Protestant east Belfast area.

Indeed, that geographical area also gives its name to the organisation which owns the Skainos Centre – the East Belfast Mission (EBM).

Readers of ‘Protestant Revival’ may well be familiar with the East Belfast Mission as we highlighted this grouping, itself an offshoot of the Methodist Church, very recently.

One of its key figures is Rev Andrew Irvine, who outrageously addressed a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan, County Armagh back in January.

This is a quote from Skainos’ own website, which says: “Skainos gathers under one roof all aspects of the work undertaken by EBM including homelessness services, employability, social economy projects, youth work, family work, community development and peace building as well as a vibrant worshipping community.”

So we have confirmation that Skainos is an East Belfast Mission ran centre.

And this means that the Skainos Centre, and therefore the East Belfast Mission and Methodist Church, is complicit in not only hosting an ungodly ecumenical event, but one at which a Jesuit priest was the star attraction.

Let us not forget who the Jesuits are.

They are the Romanist order set up in response to the Protestant Reformation, with the sole purpose of reaffirming the supremacy of the Papacy in suppressing the rise of Protestantism, and that by any means necessary.

Untold millions of Christians, Muslims and Jews were killed throughout the centuries long Inquisition led by this Romanist order.

This is an organisation whose founding aim was the snuffing out of the gospel light so gloriously unveiled and spread abroad by God through the likes of Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Knox.

Yet here we have the East Belfast Mission facilitating a representative of this wretched order, officially called the ‘Society of Jesus’ (look out for the initials SJ after a priests’ name to indicate one), spreading his deceits. The current Pope, in fact, is a Jesuit.

What a wretched situation this is.

Sadly, this is far from the first instance of the promotion of Jesuits and Jesuitry we have highlighted on this page.

Last February, we featured a God-defying Lenten prayer service in St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, always a hub of ecumenical folly, at which Jesuit priest ‘Father’ Tom Leyden was the speaker. The prayer service was held in the Ignatian tradition, referring to Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, which you can read about by clicking here.

And in November, we brought to light the absolutely disgraceful promotion and glorification of Ignatius of Loyola by Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson. You can read his truly heretical comments by clicking here.

Now here we have again more people who would claim to be servants of God allowing Jesuits into their premises to propagate their lies.

In addition to Rev Andrew Irvine, another prominent minister who is responsible for what goes on at Skainos is Rev Brian Anderson (pictured, top).

He is currently the President of the Irish Council of Churches, which gives you a clear indication of his ecumenical stance.

Both Rev Brian Anderson and Rev Andrew Irvine are culpable in allowing this proponent of Rome’s deceptions to take the stage in the building belonging to the East Belfast Mission.

Rev Brian Anderson is the Superintendent of the East Belfast Mission and Rev Andrew Irvine (pictured, below) is the Chief Executive.

Why do they allow a Jesuit priest to have a platform in their building?

Why do they allow such a God-dishonouring spectacle as the Four Corners Festival to be held in their building?

Do they believe the Roman Catholic Church leads people to salvation?

Do they believe there is merit in the Romanist teachings of prayer to Mary and long-dead so-called ‘Saints’? Or the fictitious venue of purgatory? Or the Mass? Or Rome’s outright denial of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone?

What do they actually believe?

To allow your premises to be used for the promotion of ecumenism and especially for a meeting pandering to a Jesuit, is a violation of God’s command to “be ye separate” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

And to reject God’s Word and disobey His commands is a foolish and dangerous thing.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 highlights this. It says: “Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

There can be no doubt this is a diminishing of God’s commandment which God in this passage advises them to follow, “that ye might live”.

Death follows the rejection of God’s commandments.

This is a battle we must all wage in our own lives, to remain in obedience to God.

Further down the same chapter in Deuteronomy 4:9 we are told: “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons”.

Let us be determined not to throw off the commandments of God.

Sadly, this is what has happened in much of the professing church of Christ in the past century. Sons and sons’ sons have not been instructed as they ought to have been, making way for all manner of Christ rejection to be front and centre of so many churches.

And this attitude of disobedience has created the sorry state in religious affairs which allows the like of a Jesuit priest to be welcomed in with open arms by two of the most senior figures of the Methodist Church to an event organised by a Presbyterian minister.

We as true believers are partly responsible for allowing these who bring dishonour to the name of Christ to engage in their wicked acts.

Have we been active enough in our opposition to these individuals?

Have we just tutted about it privately to those we know are in agreement with us?

Have we just turned our heads the other way so as not to look upon what is being done by those children of disobedience?

As the people of God, we need to “earnestly contend for the faith” in any which way we can and send a message out loud and clear to the compromiser, ecumenist and apostate that we will not sit back and allow them to drag our land down with their rejection of the true gospel of Christ and drag poor, blinded sinners to hell by refusing to “declare all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).

Let us be bold like Elijah who, when faced by that old reprobate Ahab, who had the cheek to accuse God’s servant of being a troublemaker, straightly told Ahab the right way of things.

1 Kings 18:17-18: “And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.”

Elijah told Ahab that his rejection of God had brought the trouble upon Israel and it is Ulster’s deepening apostasy, led by the architects of ecumenical deceit in our land, which has brought such trouble to our doorstep.

We have had plenty of warnings, but still the people of God slumber in failing to speak against it as they should.

Isaiah 9:13-16: “For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

We can bemoan sin but do nothing about it. This was the stance of Eli when confronted with the wickedness of his sons, Hophni and Phinehas.

1 Samuel 2:23-24: “And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord’s people to transgress.”

That was as far as Eli went, he took no action against them and he was punished.

1 Samuel 2:29-30, 34-35 says: “Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.”

Let us not be afraid to take our stand in this day of apostasy, and let us openly challenge any who would seek to denigrate the cause of Christ, whether they come in grand clerical garb, carry the prefix ‘Rev’ to their name or claim to be acting for God when it is obvious they are doing no such thing.

Even as the words of verse 30 of 1 Samuel 2 tell us, “them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed”.

Adultery and apostasy: Why the Royal wedding was an affront to God

1 Corinthians 7:10-11: “And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.”

The Royal wedding on Saturday past has been the subject of much of the world’s attention over the past week.

It is estimated that just under two billion people worldwide watched the wedding, or around one in four people in the entire world, saw Prince Harry, sixth in line to the Great British throne, and American actress Meghan Markle tie the knot, as they say.

Much has been made over trivial matters, such as the bride’s dress, her hair, her make-up, her father’s presence (or indeed absence, as it turned out).

Indeed, the bride’s ethnic heritage was repeatedly raised as being a notable factor in the whole debate, though of course, and this is perhaps the only occasion in this article where we are in tune with modern politically correct dogma, Meghan Markle’s racial background is utterly irrelevant.

However, the key issue at play is that Meghan Markle, regardless of the pomp and ceremony and the (worldly-speaking) litany of important public figures in attendance, was not in the eyes of God and in the light of His Word, legally able to marry Prince Harry.

This is an adulterous union.

Our passage at the top of this article says: “Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband”.

These are not merely the words of Paul, the earthly author of the book of Corinthians, these are the words of God, as God the Holy Spirit led and inspired each earthly penman as they wrote.

For double the effect, Paul even writes: “I command, yet not I, but the Lord”.

That’s pretty clear, isn’t it?

From reading various reports of Meghan Markle’s previous marriage to a film producer called Trevor Engelson, which lasted around two years, it appears Meghan Markle was the principal driver in the separation, posting her wedding and engagement rings back to her husband.

It was also reported that in legal papers concerning the divorce proceedings, the cause stated for the separation was “irreconcilable differences”.

We’ll place that, once more, in the light of the Scripture passage we have already cited. It says: “…if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband…”

As they have legally stated their differences are “irreconcilable”, then it is plain what God says Meghan Markle must do – “let her remain unmarried”.

However, there she was, on Saturday past, in front of one quarter of the world’s population but, most importantly, before God, utterly rejecting and ignoring God’s Word.

Indeed, the Arch-apostate of Canterbury, Justin Welby (pictured, above), gave her a chance to rectify that matter when, shortly before the vows were made, he said: “The vows you are about to take are to be made in the presence of God, who is Judge of all and knows all the secrets of our hearts. Therefore, if either of you knows a reason why you may not lawfully marry you must declare it now.”

That was met with silence.

She then vowed that, “forsaking all others” she would “be faithful to him as long as [they] both shall live”.

That is a right and noble thing to vow. However, she has vowed to do it before with another, and cannot, in the eyes of God, perform those vows again in her circumstances.

She later stated that “in the presence of God” she made her vows.

What a dreadful disregard and disrespect for God that she said such a thing!

There are numerous other verses pertaining to this matter, and several are straight from the mouth of Jesus during His time on earth.

Mark 10:12: “And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.”

Matthew 5:32: “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

Not only is Meghan Markle an adulteress, but Prince Harry is, by the Word of God, an adulterer.

Please pray for our Royal Family, that God will move among them and convict them of their departure from His Word.

Let us not forget that Prince William, who will most likely be King of Great Britain one day, appeared on the front cover of a gay magazine, called ‘Attitude’ just under two years ago.

In an article within that magazine, Prince William hit out against the bullying of homosexuals, and certainly bullying is wrong, regardless of the target.

However, he went on to say: “You should be proud of the person you are and you have nothing to be ashamed of.”

While our probable future King might say that, the King of Kings takes a very different view.

Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Romans 1:22-27 says: “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

Rulers are to be a “terror” to evil works (Romans 13:3), not an endorser of that which God has condemned as abominable and vile.

The subject of homosexuality brings us to the false prophet who was allowed to pollute the pulpit of St George’s Chapel, though of course the Arch-apostate of Canterbury, Justin Welby, was more than capable of doing that by himself.

Rev Michael Curry (pictured, below) took the stage, for that is what it was to him, and preached a message of absolute drivel.

His constant prattling about love and then fire was in no way faithful to the God ordained principle of ministry to preach “all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).

Had the fire he mentioned been in relation to the fires of hell (Revelation 21:8) and that unrepentant sinners will be there for all eternity, then he would have been on a better path.

However, Rev Michael Curry is well advanced down the broad path, which leads to destruction, and he’s taking plenty with him.

For he and his church have taken a disgracefully ungodly attitude to homosexuality, not only of those in its pews but those in its pulpits and highest offices.

Rev Michael Curry is Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, the US sister body of the Anglican Church.

The Episcopal Church authorised the appointment of an openly gay bishop, Gene Robinson in 2003, and gave its backing to gay marriage in 2015.

Rev Michael Curry also has stated his support for the madness of allowing so-called “transgender” people to use whichever public toilets they so choose and publicly stressed his welcome of homosexuals into his church.

Defending his God defying stance following condemnation from other members of the worldwide Anglican Communion, he said: “Our commitment to be an inclusive church is based on our belief that the outstretched arms of Jesus on the cross are a sign of the very love of God reaching out to us all.

“For fellow disciples of Jesus in our church who are gay or lesbian, this will bring more pain. For many who have felt and been rejected by the church because of who they are, for many who have felt and been rejected by families and communities, our church opening itself in love was a sign of hope.”

While Rev Michael Curry’s church will not reject people because of who they are, God will reject people because of who they are.

If you are not saved, Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:23: “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

It is unsurprising that the woolly message of Rev Michael Curry, who also referenced a Jesuit priest, the group which led the murderous Counter Reformation, during his sermon, was praised so fulsomely by two notorious ecumenists, we wrote about just last week, Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson and Rev Steve Stockman, minister of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church.

Both took to Twitter on several occasions during the wedding ceremony to stress their delight at the message of this apostate.

However, while these men will not show their followers the way of salvation, there is a remedy for sin that all may receive, and that is God’s Salvation through the precious blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 9:22 tells us that “without shedding of blood is no remission” of sins.

1 John 1:9 says: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Dear reader, look not to Royal figures in this earth, but instead look to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Hebrews 12:2: “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Presbyterian minister who excuses prayers for the dead to bring Clonard priest into Protestant church

A Redemptorist priest from Clonard Monastery on the Irish republican Falls Road in Belfast is to be welcomed with open arms into a Presbyterian Church in the city tomorrow night.

‘Father’ Ciaran O’Callaghan will be attending Fitzroy Presbyterian Church alongside the self-proclaimed “most hugged Presbyterian minister in the history of the Catholic Church in Ireland”, the Rev Ken Newell, a former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, this Sunday, 20 May.

Readers may well be familiar with Fitzroy Presbyterian Church as it is a hub of ecumenical compromise and helps host the annual ecumenical talking shop, the Four Corners Festival, jointly led by its current minister, Rev Steve Stockman and ‘Father’ Martin Magill, a noted emissary of Papal deceit.

The Four Corners Festival is a quasi (perhaps queasy would be a better word!) political / religious talking shop, and it’s an event we have previously featured, as it was during that event Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson spoke in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast.

Indeed, our photograph at the top of this article of Rev Ken Newell in full ecumenical flow may be familiar to eagle eyed readers of this page. It will certainly be familiar to Emmanuel leader Alain Emerson as it is in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast.

This event tomorrow night (Sunday) is being hyped as part of Fitzroy’s ‘Day of Reconciliation’ to mark Pentecost Sunday.

Reconciliation is a key watchword of the ecumenist and the apostate in Northern Ireland for those keen to take advantage of the bloody, lawless actions of the devil-inspired IRA in our country during what has euphemistically come to be known as ‘The Troubles’.

Those lying preachers who have “a form of godliness” but are guilty of “denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5) use that strife to trick Protestants into thinking the solution to the problems in Ulster is to compromise with the Papists.

However, nothing could be further from the truth.

God hates paganism and idolatry, which Romanism certainly is, and one only has to look at the records of the kings of Judah to see for whom the highest praise was recorded. It was for those who tore down all manner of false idols and places of worship to their blasphemous gods.

Look at the Holy Spirit’s appraisal of Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18:3-6: “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses.”

Josiah was similarly praised when he took the throne and carried out a purge of pagan idolatry. Showing an evangelical spirit, he even went into the land outside Judah’s borders to do the same. 2 Chronicles 34:6: “And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali…”

There is no praise for those who, rather than tearing down the altars of paganism, sought to join in with them.

And this is exactly what the likes of Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman are doing by their continual compromise with Rome.

Rev Ken Newell is an arch-ecumenist, and had a notoriously cosy relationship with a ‘Father’ Gerry Reynolds, who is the predecessor of ‘Father’ Ciaran O’Callaghan, the Romanist who will be in attendance with Rev Ken Newell at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church.

The pair were nigh on inseparable during Rev Ken Newell’s 32 years as minister in Fitzroy Presbyterian Church (he was succeeded in his post by Rev Steve Stockman).

Of course, one has to wonder why Fitzroy Presbyterian Church has been allowed to go down the broad road of apostasy for more than four decades and the leadership of the Presbyterian Church bears a dreadful burden of guilt in this matter.

Both Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman signed the Westminster Confession of Faith at their ordination, which states that the Pope is “that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition”.

Clearly, neither man believes that, so why are they allowed to continue to deceive and spread their lies?

Worse still, in 2004 Rev Ken Newell was chosen by the Presbyterian Church to be its moderator – what a grave affront to God.

Indeed, Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman are like the false prophets God condemned in Ezekiel 13:10-16: “Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord God.”

This is a remarkably apt passage, for “one built up a wall” and “others daubed it”. Is that not exactly what has happened with Rev Ken Newell (the builder) and Rev Steve Stockman (the dauber)? Rev Ken Newell began this ecumenical construction and Rev Steve Stockman now tends to it to maintain the facade of Christianity to keep the people from seeing the truth.

Look at what God says about this wall – He will “rend it with a stormy wind in my fury”; He will “consume it”; He will “break down the wall” and “bring it down to the ground”.

He will do this so that “the foundation thereof shall be discovered”. Just like the foolish man who built the house upon the sand, when the storms come it will all come tumbling down for it is a lie, a deceit, a counterfeit, a delusion, an illusion.

Yet further evidence of the unsuitability of Rev Ken Newell to occupy the pulpit in any place of worship was demonstrated when he said it was “sectarian” to object to the Romish deceit of prayers to the dead.

Showing he has a greater love for Romanism than Protestantism, this counterfeit cleric said that because Orange Order members were advised by the leadership not to use the Papist term ‘RIP’ (Rest In Peace) when paying tribute to those who have died, there was a “reservoir of sectarianism” at large in the Orange Order, a Protestant fraternal organisation.

The term, of course, is utterly unscriptural, not that such a thing would matter to an old compromiser like Rev Ken Newell. We have previously stressed the anti-Christian nature of prayers for the dead. One must only look at the account of David’s child to Bathsheba who died to see that prayers for the dead are a dangerous, blasphemous nonsense. You can read the account in 2 Samuel 12:16-23.

Reader, please pray that God will hasten to tear down the deceitful walls of builders and daubers like Rev Ken Newell and Rev Steve Stockman and please pray that the true reconciliation of sinners repenting and asking Christ for salvation will take hold in our land.

1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Romans 5:10-11: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.”
