Harbour Faith Community condemns efforts to protect ministers from threat of carrying out sodomite ‘marriages’

We are told, though it is transparently becoming increasingly less the case, that we live in a ‘free country’, where people are allowed to hold whichever opinion they choose, whether we find it distasteful or not.

However, the rushed through policy of introducing so-called sodomite ‘marriage’ by MPs determined to defy God has seen no legal protection put in place for ministers who object to being forced to act against their conscience and disobey God by officiating at such godless affairs.

This is not the case in the rest of the UK where the ‘marriage’ between those given over to what God terms an “abomination” and “against nature” can be conscientiously objected to by any minister or denomination who so wishes.

Just as is the case with the other devil-inspired policy foisted on us in Northern Ireland by God-defying MPs of abortion, the policy is more extreme in Ulster than it is in the rest of the UK.

Babies could be murdered, legally, up to 24 weeks in the rest of the UK but it is up to 28 weeks in Northern Ireland.

This is an act of twisting the knife by the enemies of God and His Word, rubbing it in the noses of those in Northern Ireland who still seek to place God at the forefront of their lives.

It is an act of gleeful punishment to God-fearing people in Ulster for having the temerity to stand up against their evil notions to then, when the power is in their hands, ram through policies which are worse than the ones operating in their own jurisdiction.

They would all need to read the words of Isaiah 10:1, 3 and tremble: “Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?”

The Christian Institute, who represented Asher’s Bakery throughout their ordeal at the hands of the state in the ‘gay cake’ row, aided by supposed ‘Christians’ in the (In)Equality Commission such as Presbyterian ‘minister’, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, has stepped up to take legal action to protect ministers from this obvious form of discrimination.

However, as is often the case in matters that are exceedingly clear to anyone, the Harbour Faith Community in Carrickfergus, County Antrim and its leader, Steve Ames, contrive to see it differently.

This is evidenced by the fact that the church is “LGBT affirming”, despite the Bible condemning such actions which fall under that man-made umbrella term as “abomination”, the fact that it equates the Lord Jesus Christ to a thug running a protection racket and the fact that it held an event recently where the guest speaker was a militant abortion campaigner.

And now Steve Ames has spoken out against the Christian Institute’s efforts to protect ministers from being forced by the state to officiate at ‘marriages’ with which they profoundly disagree.

How Steve Ames thinks it is a tolerable situation to force ministers to officiate at such ceremonies is hard to fathom.

Yet he is quoted in the Belfast Telegraph saying: “We believe that the LGBT community receives enough hostility as it is from the wider community and that often comes from Christian voices, sadly.

“For us, the Christian Institute seeking protections from having to marry same-sex couples is sending a further negative symbol that there is something wrong with same-sex relationships. That for us is frustrating.”

He also further said apparently that the Christian Institute’s concerns are “completely unfounded”.

Following this up on his Facebook page, Steve Ames said: “Our issue with the Christian Institute is their blind assumption that Christian ministers will obviously not want to perform same sex marriages in the first place.

“They make no attempt to acknowledge those of us who consider guiding couples through the sacrament of marriage to be our privilege, not something we need special protections from.

“An institution claiming to represent Christian values can and should do much, much better than this. They should be advocating for love, acceptance and inclusion for everyone regardless of gender or sexuality, instead of driving yet another wedge between the church and the LGBT+ community.”

It is remarkable that Steve Ames, in taking the position he has, seems to be making a blind assumption that Christian ministers will want to perform same-sex marriages.

The vast majority of ministers in the vast majority of denominations with any sort of significant membership in Northern Ireland would not countenance carrying out such an affront to God.

This includes the Church of Ireland, Presbyterian Church and Methodists, apostate as they all are, where most ministers would be opposed to going to such lengths away from God, while the likes of the Brethren, Independent Methodist, Free Presbyterian, Baptist and Reformed Presbyterian churches (as far as we know) would simply not countenance it in any way.

Indeed, most charismatic / Pentecostal / Elim type churches also would not even consider officiating at sodomite marriages.

Steve Ames may be doing his best to follow the crowd in endorsing what God has called an “abomination”, but he is very much in the minority when it comes to religious circles in Northern Ireland, although of course he has set himself up as a pastor, seemingly entirely off his own bat.

This sort of issue we referred to previously when farmers from outside Ballymena decided to go from pasteurising to ‘pastorising’ in setting up Mid Antrim Vineyard. We would again advise readers to see the inconstancy of such a position by reading the stark example of Micah in Judges 17-18.

The argument of the wrongs of sodomy is one which has been repeated on numerous occasions on this page and it really is remarkable that people who claim to be Christians continue to reject God’s Word in this most clear and important matter.

Anyone looking to know God’s mind on the matter can turn to a host of different passages for His view on sexuality and relationships, including, but most certainly not limited to Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:18-24, Leviticus 18:22, Matthew 19:4-6, Romans 1:22-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Timothy 1:9-10.

However, Steve Ames’ comments that the action by the Christian Institute is “driving yet another wedge between the church and the LGBT+ community” shows his determination to remain at odds with God and His Word.

The wedge between the church of Christ and the “LGBT+ community” comes from the side of those who choose to live their lives in open defiance of God, ie those who fall under the man-made “LGBT” umbrella.

Those who identify with such a lifestyle separate themselves from God and His church.

God will not let sin into heaven, only those upon whom He has imputed His righteousness.

Revelation 21:27: “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

God calls sodomy an “abomination” and nothing which “worketh abomination” will be in heaven.

Furthermore, as referenced above, 1 Corinthians 6 tells us that the “effeminate” and “abusers of themselves with mankind” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Job 28:28 tells us: “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”

Departing from evil is understanding of the will of the Lord, not wilfully engaging with and supporting the indulgence of evil.

Likewise, those who preach the LGBT false gospel, so obviously contrary to the doctrine of Scripture, are to be marked out and avoided.

Romans 16:17-18: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

Indeed, Steve Ames and Harbour Faith Community are very much the schismatics as they are the ones who are consciously rejecting God’s Word.

So often the ecumenist, compromiser and the heretic tries to paint those who wish to stay in the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16) as the schismatic because they wish not to follow the broad road leading to destruction.

It is clear they are the true schismatics as they put a clear gap between themselves and God’s Word.

And let us follow that clear Scriptural command with any church, church leader or fellowship which chooses to ignore God’s Word and, indeed, chooses to directly disobey God’s Word as they pursue their own ungodly ends.

Marching for sodomite marriage- Presbyterian minister Rev Bill Shaw

Isaiah 5:20: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

In this day of outrageous apostasy, where bitter is being put for sweet and sweet for bitter on a daily basis, it is still shocking to observe the conduct of ordained Presbyterian minister Rev Bill Shaw.

He doesn’t currently hold a charge and instead runs an arts and ‘peace’ centre in north Belfast called the Duncairn, while spending a significant amount of his time expressing his extreme opposition to the Israeli state and unequivocal support for the Palestinian lobby.

While we are not looking to or are indeed particularly well equipped to engage in a debate surrounding Middle Eastern politics, it is certainly a very strange position to hold, as a supposedly Christian minister, to God’s chosen people.

Another pet project of his is to consistently express his support for the sodomite agenda, and he paraded as part of the so-called ‘marriage equality’ procession in Belfast at the weekend, which he posted about on his Facebook page (pictured, below).

This follows on from his participation in the sodomite ‘Pride’ parade in the city last summer, at which Rev Bill Shaw also carried a poster saying that he, as a Presbyterian, supported the LGBT agenda, something which flies in the face of God’s Word.

The Bible is so clear on sodomy it truly can only be the view of someone who has cast off God’s Word to try to claim it is permissible in the eyes of God.

Genesis 2:18, 21-24: “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Romans 1:26-28: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient”.

These verses are crystal clear.

Indeed, nowhere whatsoever in Scripture is the notion of a same-sex relationship, much less marriage, considered as even a legitimate possibility, never mind commendable.

Paul, in his letters, speaks of elders in the church being the “husband of one wife” (Titus 1:6) and, of marriage, says “let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2).

Jesus reiterated the foundational principle of a man being married to a woman.

Matthew 19:4-6: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”

These very clear verses appear to either not be sufficient for Rev Bill Shaw or he has simply disregarded them.

Whatever the case, his actions run completely at odds to that which is approved by God in His Word.

Sadly, this is a topic we have had to visit on numerous occasions as so many churches and professing Christians seem to be compromising on the sin which brought God’s judgment down on Sodom and Gomorrah.

And for any who try to deny this was the reason, just have a read of Jude v 7, which says: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

We have seen Groomsport Presbyterian Church in County Down celebrate the same-sex ‘marriage’ of one of its former trainee ‘ministers’, Jennifer Barchi.

We have seen so-called ‘Christian’ rock band Rend Collective say it is a “sad thing” in response to a transgender person bemoaning the fact they couldn’t lead worship or preach in certain churches.

We have seen Presbyterian ‘minister’ ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll refuse to speak out in defence of the Asher’s Bakery as they were prosecuted by the (In)Equality Commission for refusing to bake a cake bearing a slogan in favour of same-sex marriage.

We have seen Carnmoney Presbyterian Church minister Rev John Dickinson endorsing the lesbian ‘Christian’ LGBT campaigner Vicky Beeching, along with another Presbyterian ‘minister’, ‘Rev’ Liz Hughes.

We have seen the DUP, which once stood foursquare for the Word of God, greatly soften their stance in relation to sodomy, allowing sodomite pardons to be brought in, seeing leader Arlene Foster attend and speak at an event celebrating sodomites at Stormont and topping it off by nominating a lesbian candidate for the recent council elections.

This is just a brief snapshot of the overthrowing of God’s Word which is being practised by so many who ought to be defending it.

And Rev Bill Shaw is no exception.

As an ordained Presbyterian minister, he ought to be taking a stand against the rising tide of sin in our land which seeks to drown out all opposition to it, but instead he is joining in with the sinful chorus of the enemies of Christ.

Dear Christian, you cannot but be aware of the prevalence and promotion of that which God has called an “abomination” in our country.

It is not enough to merely be vexed and grieved by such depravity, we must speak out.

Lot was vexed by the filthiness he was surrounded with in Sodom, yet he was not a good example for us to follow.

We are told in 2 Peter 2:7 that God “delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked”.

Would any Christian reading this consider Lot an example to follow? Yet he was vexed by the wickedness all around him.

That was a proper and just reaction, but it wasn’t enough.

What action did he take? There’s very little recorded in the Bible of it.

Even when he offered shelter to the angels and tried to protect them from the wretches outside the door, he vilely offered his virgin daughters to satisfy the unseemly lusts of the men of Sodom (Genesis 19:4-8).

We can also see the ungodly house over which he headed.

His wife, having a regard for the sin and evil company she had apparently ‘enjoyed’, looked back at Sodom, against God’s command, and perished (Genesis 19:17, 26).

His sons-in-law had clearly heard so little of God from Lot that when he told them of the impending judgment of God upon it, he “seemed as one that mocked” (Genesis 19:14).

His daughters, who survived the city’s destruction, had their minds so corrupted by the company they kept, plotted to get their father drunk two nights in a row before engaging in vile conduct so as to have children (Genesis 19:31-38).

Lot, of course, was foolish enough to allow himself to be drunk the first night, and was more foolish still to allow it to happen a second time, and so soon after.

And this is the man who was “vexed with the filthy conversation (or lifestyle) of the wicked”.

He was grieved and stopped there and the consequences were grave.

And likewise today the consequences will be grave for us personally and Ulster collectively if we don’t speak out against the sins of the day.

Sodomy is the number one sin of the day; it is being waved in the faces and rubbed in the noses of every child of God.

Are we going to sit silently and tut to ourselves or in company where we know we are safe to do so?

Or are we ready to take our stand for Christ and be determined to obey God rather than the latest evil thought of man?

Rev Bill Shaw is taking to the streets to support sodomy and call for that which grieves the Lord to be foisted upon us.

What will we do to take our stand for God and His Word?

Isaiah 58:1: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

Presbyterian minister new leader of ecumenical den of iniquity, Corrymeela

Ezekiel 13:2-5, 8-10: “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord God. And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord God. Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace”.

A Presbyterian minister has taken over as the new Leader of the Corrymeela Community, the leading hub of ecumenical compromise in our land.

The Rev Alex Wimberly (pictured, top) has taken up the role which pays in the region of £50,000 per year, replacing outgoing Leader, the sodomite Romanist Padraig O Tuama.

Now, if you knew nothing else of the Corrymeela Community, the fact that its previous leader was a sodomite Romanist would tell you all you need to know.

The teachings of the Church of Rome are utterly repugnant to the Word of God.

The Mass, Purgatory, Mariolatry, offering of prayers for the dead, idolatry, relics and, worst of all, denial of salvation by faith alone, all mark Rome out as utterly contrary to Christianity.

Sodomy, meanwhile, is so obviously classed as a grave sin by God that for any to try to say otherwise demonstrates an individual who has rejected the Bible.

For those who perhaps may not be overly aware of the Corrymeela Community, it is an avowedly ecumenical organisation seeking to promote religious unity between Protestants and Catholics.

It has been weaving its web of deceit from its base on the north coast of Northern Ireland, in the town of Ballycastle, for more than 50 years.

Indeed, the supposedly Protestant Presbyterian Church has been instrumental in propagating this anti-Christian organisation from the outset.

Its first Leader and founder was Rev Ray Davey, a Presbyterian minister. He was replaced as Leader by Rev John Morrow, another Presbyterian minister, who had also played a key role in the foundation of the den of deceit in Ballycastle.

It is interesting to note that the centre was founded in 1965, several years before the euphemistically entitled ‘Troubles’ (read, armed Romanist uprising against the lawful rulers of the land) began.

Given Corrymeela loves to position itself as some sort of conflict resolution centre, it is very instructive it was founded before the bloodshed began, further demonstrating this was a place set up to promote ecumenical compromise.

And now we have another Presbyterian minister taking the leading role in rejecting the Word of God.

Rev Alex Wimberly was formerly the minister of McCracken Memorial Presbyterian Church in Belfast, spreading his ecumenical nonsense there for seven years, before taking up a role as chaplain at Corrymeela.

Has he been chucked out of the Presbyterian Church? What do you think?

The Presbyterian Church seems to tolerate all sorts of inappropriate characters in its pulpits and in association with it.

There is Rev Steve Stockman, a brazen ecumenist and organiser of the ungodly Four Corners Festival, who is the long-time minister of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church.

Then you have Rev Lesley Carroll (pictured, above), former minister of Fortwilliam and Macrory Presbyterian Church in Belfast who was Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission throughout the Asher’s Bakery saga.

Add to that the likes of ‘Rev’ Liz Hughes and Rev John Dickinson (pictured, below), the great Carnmoney crowd surfer, who both have given their backing to LGBT campaigner and so-called Christian, Vicky Beeching.

There are others we could name, but this is surely plenty to cause serious alarm among any who subscribe to the Presbyterian Church.

There are many warnings in Scripture about refusing to deal with sin.

One of the most clear of these can be found in God’s dealing with the children of Israel in the book of Judges.

They were instructed to utterly drive out those who worshipped false gods.

They failed to do so and God’s judgement fell.

Judges 2:2-3: “And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.”

By making peace with sin, the Presbyterian Church put itself in this position.

Will the Presbyterian Church make any moves to oppose such wickedness being carried out by one of its ordained ministers at a centre devoted to compromise with Rome?

Don’t let them fob you off by saying Rev Alex Wimberly’s role is independent of the Presbyterian Church, he remains a minister of the Presbyterian Church.

Will the Presbyterian Church take any stand against Rev Alex Wimberly assuming the role of leading ecumenism in Northern Ireland?

This is a very important question and we can rightly make the challenge to the Presbyterian Church, just as Joshua did to the children of Israel, outlined in Joshua 24:15.

It says: “Choose you this day whom ye will serve”.

Going by its previous track record, this church has chosen apostasy.

Regardless of what the Presbyterian Church does or doesn’t do, let us be determined to serve the Lord and have the same resolution as did Joshua at the end of that same verse.

Let us say, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”.

Will Methodist ministers stand up against transgender uniforms at Methody College?

Now the battle over sodomy is more or less won by the Christ deniers in the western world, the next battleground they have turned their attention to is transgenderism.

As was the case with sodomy, nothing but total surrender to the transgender cause will do, and all must fall before this sacred cow of secularism. If you don’t believe that’s how such servants of the devil operate, just look at the abuse received by anti-abortion and anti-sodomy sections of Northern Irish society for holding back the tide of depravity attempting to sweep through our land.

The same spirit as that highlighted in Habakkuk 2:5 is evident here. It says: “Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people”.

And to this end of ensuring total submission, and the other key tactic used by those seeking to overthrow the imprint of godliness on society – brainwashing the young – there are now moves afoot to incorporate transgender uniforms at Methody College in Belfast.

Methody is a colloquial short form for Methodist, and this college was founded by Methodists.

While the Methodist Church no longer has outright control over the school, there is still a significant influence from the church over the school.

No less than five members of the Board of Governors are Methodist ministers and we would sincerely hope they will do the right thing, the only proper thing to do in the circumstances, and speak out fearlessly and stridently against the consideration of indulging such wickedness in the school which bears their church’s name.

The five ministers concerned are Rev David Campton (pictured, top), Rev John Alderdice, ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, Rev John Stephens and ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth (pictured, below), who also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors.

All five are, according to the school’s website, ‘Trustee Governors’, who, the website explains, are “appointed by the Conference of the Methodist Church” to their positions.

So these people are in their position due to the decision taken by the Methodist Church’s equivalent of the General Synod in the Church of Ireland and General Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church.

They are in their position due to the decision taken by the highest authority of their church in this land and have a responsibility to represent Christ in their role.

Will they be faithful to God’s Word and take a voluble and determined stand against the efforts to cater for ungodliness in Methodist College?

Sadly, based on what we can establish of the past form of many of these Methodist ministers, the signs aren’t particularly good.

Rev John Alderdice (not to be confused with the Bible rejecter and deceitful subscriber to the Westminster Confession of Faith, Lord Alderdice, former leader of the ungodly ecumenical Alliance Party and Presbyterian elder who resigned when the Presbyterian Church decided to gently tighten up its lax attitude to sodomy) is no stranger to ignoring the Bible.

This is because Rev John Alderdice, who is Director of Ministry for the Methodist Church in Ireland (showing that apostasy pays in the Methodist Church), is an ecumenical canon of Down Cathedral in Downpatrick.

He was installed on the same night as a character we previously featured on this page, Canon Mark Harvey of Shankill Parish Church in Lurgan, County Armagh, a man who invited a Papist into his church to take part in a Remembrance service. He also brought the former UK Ambassador to the Pope, Romanist layman Francis Hughes, into his church at a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in 2018.

There were three canons introduced on that night at Down Cathedral (the trio are pictured, above, with Rev John Alderdice on the right), and the third was a Romanist monk, Brother Eric Loisel of the Benedictine Monastery in Rostrevor in County Down.

So this gives us an idea of the type of spiritual company which Rev John Alderdice sees fit to keep.

As for Rev David Campton and ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, they engaged in an ecumenical event with the Belfast Islamic Centre just last month.

Given this review of the uniform policy at Methody also includes provision for facilitating other faiths, and that surely will be conceived primarily, if not exclusively, with Muslims in mind, one would expect this to be rather relevant.

Of course, while the false religion of Islam will be and already is catered for, the Christian faith, which Methody’s origins are based in, is to be sidelined.

And ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth, who is, remember, Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors, is part of the team at the Centre for Contemporary Christianity in Ireland.

She is part of that team which includes such ‘luminaries’ as ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, the woman who served as Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission throughout the entire time that wretched organisation was prosecuting Asher’s Bakery for refusing to bake a cake bearing a slogan in favour of sodomite marriage.

Also involved is the Equality Commission’s Chief Commissioner, Michael Wardlow, the public face of the campaign to force Asher’s to ignore their sincerely held religious convictions.

And to cap it off you have Romanist Bishop of Derry Donal McKeown involved there as well.

This is despite Rome being a false religion which, in addition to various other blasphemies, most crucially denies the way to salvation.

And there you have ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth, who is also acting principal of Edgehill College, the training school for Methodist ministers, among that crew of religious compromisers and Bible rejecters. And that’s even laying aside the fact that the Bible prohibits her from being a minister (1 Timothy 2:12).

So, these credentials being established and laid out, can we be confident they will take a stand against the madness of transgenderism, madder still to be facilitated among the impressionable and emotionally less mature (generally) young, being facilitated in a school bearing their church’s name?

Well, they are going to have to prove themselves more faithful to the Bible in this matter than they have in other areas.

We will remind Rev David Campton, Rev John Alderdice, ‘Rev’ Emily Hyland, Rev John Stephens and ‘Rev’ Janet Unsworth of what the Bible has to say on the issue.

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

Deuteronomy 22:5: “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.”

Matthew 19:4: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female”.

In that third quotation, it is Jesus who is speaking, and he asks, “have ye not read?”

Should any or all of these ministers stand by and let such brazen rejection of Christ to be facilitated in their school, and to facilitate is to promote it as acceptable, then the question “have ye not read?” could very aptly be put to these clerics.

May God even work in their hearts to cause them to take a resolute stand against such wickedness which those campaigners for overthrowing the Word of God in our land are trying to foist on us.

If they don’t, we will remind them of the grave warning which God Himself has given to those who fail to take their stand for Him.

Ezekiel 3:18-19: “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

We would encourage any readers, especially in the Belfast area, who are concerned by this pandering to the LGBT agenda, to register their grave misgivings against these plans and take their stand for Christ.

We would also encourage any readers, especially those with connections to the Methodist Church, to contact those ministers and express your desire that they remember the Word of God when it comes to this matter.

Ecumenists close Henry Cooke’s old church, May Street Presbyterian as charismatics take over

Old dead ecumenism in the traditional churches has led to the ringing of many a death knell on old churches and May Street Presbyterian Church is the latest to fall victim to the onward march of ecumenical compromise.

Once the clerical domain of that great Presbyterian figure, Rev Henry Cooke, who led the purging of Arians and Arminians from his denomination, May Street has long been reduced to a husk of a church, hence its closure as of last week.

Sad as it is to see a church go, it is equally sad to see it will now be put to use by some of the leading figures in the charismatic movement in Northern Ireland.

Central Belfast, a church under the auspices of Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, will take over the running of the church.

Readers of ‘Protestant Revival’ will be well aware of Carnmoney Presbyterian Church.

We first highlighted the antics which go on under its roof when we pointed out the foolish, irreverent action of its minister, Rev John Dickinson, who allowed himself to be carried out of the church in a ‘crowd surfing’ manner by the foolish people in attendance.

This action, in fairness to Rev John Dickinson (pictured, below), was prompted and encouraged by that leader of the 24-7 Prayer movement and ardent ecumenist, Pete Greig.

We previously wrote about him helping the Roman Catholic Church to lure more people through its doors and about how he claimed God had told him that He was “quite enjoying” a bunch of young women prayer dancing to the music of ABBA.

And it was his prompting which led to the embarrassing incident in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, which saw Rev John Dickinson later giving a rather sheepish interview to the Belfast Telegraph indicating he didn’t plan to repeat such a ludicrous activity.

However, Rev John Dickinson was then entirely responsible for his actions when he tweeted his excitement at reading the life story of Vicky Beeching, noted Contemporary Christian Musician and so-called ‘gay Christian’, who describes herself as an ‘LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) equality campaigner’.

The book he expressed delight at reading is entitled ‘Undivided: Coming Out, Becoming Whole, And Living Free From Shame’, hardly a subtle title.

Regardless, these are the credentials of the minister of the parent church which has taken over the May Street Presbyterian Church building.

The old congregation has left after 190 years of worship on that site and, glorying in ecumenical compromise to the end, had a Romanist priest in attendance to wave them off.

‘Father’ Michael McGinnity of the nearby St Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, which, a Belfast Telegraph article reporting on the matter says has “long been associated” with May Street Presbyterian Church, did a reading at the meeting.

May Street Presbyterian Church played host to a meeting of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer initiative last May, organised by the local leader of the 24-7 Prayer movement, Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson, the glorifier of Jesuit founder Ignatius of Loyola and lead pastor of Emmanuel Church in the Craigavon area.

‘Thy Kingdom Come’ is an ecumenical prayer initiative and has the backing of Rome, who produce prayer guides for those looking to take part in it.

And there it was, devoted to ecumenism to the last, even though departure from God is what closed it.

The church has amalgamated with Fisherwick Presbyterian Church and is the second ecumenical Presbyterian church to close in the past few months. It is following hot on the heels of Fortwilliam and Macrory Presbyterian Church, itself an amalgamation and formerly led by ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, a woman who expressed her desire for ecumenism to make progress in Northern Ireland at a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity event in a Roman Catholic chapel in County Tyrone.

She is also the Deputy Chief Commissioner of the (In)Equality Commission which brought the disgraceful legal action against Asher’s bakery.

This clearly demonstrates that ecumenism, which is a departure from God’s Word, leads to destruction, as has befallen Fortwilliam and Macrory and now May Street Presbyterian churches.

Jeremiah 29:17-19 speaks of how the people of Israel were warned about their apostasy yet failed to listen to God’s servants and they were taken into captivity by the Babylonians.

Ulster has had many faithful servants speaking out against ecumenism and other forms of religious betrayal. However, so many have refused to listen and May Street is the latest to reap this sorry harvest.

Those verses say: “Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil. And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them: Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the Lord, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the Lord.”

The service at May Street was called a ‘Dawning Of A New Era’ service, which is something of a fairly euphemistic badge to put upon death.

However, there is an element of accuracy to this as well as it refers to the new era of charismatism taking over as the chief interest of much of professing Christendom.

Just as straightforward ecumenism was de rigueur a number of decades ago, the charismatic movement, which eschews traditional, Biblical theology in favour of creating a venue of entertainment, is now all the rage.

The old dead churches are striving to survive by bringing in the rock bands and turning church into a concert and, in many cases, are currently enjoying a surge in popularity.

And, with Central Belfast, headed up by Rev John Dickinson’s son, David Dickinson (pictured, top), that is exactly what is happening.

David Dickinson also presumably didn’t have an issue with ‘Father’ Michael McGinnity being in attendance at the meeting as he too was there to apparently receive a special baton from May Street’s clerk of session, Arthur Acheson.

This is also a fine allegory for the passing of the baton from old style ecumenism, which has led to the death of so many churches, to the new charismatic ecumenism.

It is no less deadly, but gives the appearance of life as its adherents jump up and down to the latest inane, shallow compilations put together by the revered worship leaders so beloved in such establishments.

Dear reader, please don’t be taken in by this attractive to the senses veneer applied to the same old dead ecumenism which leads so many astray.

Instead, separate yourself from such and dedicate yourself to actually honouring God, rather than claiming to do so while engaging in actions which run contrary to that very claim.

1 Peter 1:15-17, 23: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

Asher’s victory ‘disappoints’ ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll’s Inequality Commission

Isaiah 5:20: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

This week saw the announcement of a great victory in the highest court in our islands, the UK Supreme Court, for the disgracefully persecuted Asher’s Bakery.

While no doubt the vast majority of readers are familiar with the case, we will briefly recap lest any are left in the dark.

A sodomite called Gareth Lee ordered a cake from the Christian run bakery based in Belfast, asking that it be emblazoned with the message ‘Support gay marriage’. The order was initially taken by a member of staff who was unaware of how to handle the situation before being passed to the bakery’s owner, Daniel McArthur, who contacted Gareth Lee to tell him they were unable to carry out the order and gave him a refund.

The unhappy Gareth Lee, a campaigner for sodomy, got in touch with the Inequality Commission, who took legal action against Asher’s Bakery and, shamefully, they were found to have discriminated against Gareth Lee.

Asher’s appealed the decision, with the matter going all the way to the UK Supreme Court, who, praise God, overturned the initial decision on a unanimous 5-0 verdict.

While the whole issue was shameful enough as it was, the fact that Michael Wardlow, the Chief Commissioner of the Inequality Commission, is a professing Christian, compounded the matter.

And to put the tin hat on it, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Inequality Commission is a ‘minister’ in the Presbyterian Church, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll.

We previously highlighted how she had failed to speak up at any point throughout the whole process, not making any public pronouncements on the case, thereby showing her support for the persecution of Asher’s Bakery by the organisation in which she holds the second highest post.

Had she, as a supposedly Christian ‘minister’, been opposed to the legal action against this Christian owned bakery, she would surely have done so at some point over the past four years, for that is how long the McArthur family have been subjected to this distressing process.

Instead, her only response is to share online the statement issued by the Inequality Commission in which they expressed their “disappointment” at the verdict delivered by the UK Supreme Court.

The Inequality Commission issued a statement shortly after the ruling was made public, linking to it from their Twitter page, and ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll was quick to retweet it so as to further spread the resolutely defiant and anti-Christian stance of the Inequality Commission.

It starts by saying: “The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland is disappointed in the judgement given today by the Supreme Court…”

Certainly little introspection there.

They continue by saying the previous judgments which found in their favour were “in line with case law developed over the years”. In the next breath they say: “The Supreme Court has overturned these findings…”

There is most definitely at least a passive aggressive narrative at play here, with what appears to be more than a hint of a swipe at the unanimous judgement by the five members of the Supreme Court.

In the final paragraph of the fairly brief statement, they say: “There is a concern… that the beliefs of business owners may take precedence over a customer’s equality rights…”

This is steadfastly refusing to accept the key thrust of the Supreme Court ruling.

Gareth Lee was treated absolutely equally with everyone else, no difference was made for him because he is a sodomite. Had a heterosexual man requested the exact same cake, he would have been rebuffed as well. Indeed, it is highly probable the staff at Asher’s Bakery didn’t even know Gareth Lee was a homosexual.

This absolute lack of humility on the part of the Inequality Commission highlights how it is utterly unfit for purpose.

And ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll’s continuing to reject Biblical standards demonstrates emphatically that she is, even laying aside the Bible’s warning against female ‘ministers’ (1 Timothy 2:12), an utterly inappropriate candidate for the ministry.

This is in addition to her consistently ecumenical conduct, such as preaching at a service during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in a Roman Catholic Church, at which she compared the Pope’s then-impending visit to the Republic of Ireland to the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is also noteworthy that the church she vacated two years ago to contest the Northern Ireland Assembly election of May 2016 (at which she received a paltry 5.4% of the vote) will close tomorrow (Sunday).

Fortwilliam and Macrory Presbyterian Church, itself an amalgamation, is to close due to a drastically dwindling congregation, proving once again that, when a church which once stood for the truth moves away from God’s Word, attendances fall.

It is hardly coincidental that the further the Church of England moves away from God, the further attendances dwindle. Their solution is to further water down the message and the result is even greater wasting away of a church which once stood firmly for God.

Apostasy is rejected and punished by God.

Deuteronomy 29:18-20, 24-28: “Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven. Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the Lord done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger? Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.”

God will uproot those who turn away from His Word and will destroy them, just as Fortwilliam and Macrory Presbyterian Church will be consigned to the dustbin of history.

Those who bemoan its closing can look to this passage in Deuteronomy for the explanation of why it has died – Ichabod has been raised above it, the glory of God has long since departed.

Let us ever be diligent to protect our church, whichever it may be; if it is faithful to God, if it preaches salvation through the blood of Christ, through faith alone in Him, if it rejects error, if it rejects compromise with Rome, if it speaks out against the sins of the day, let our desire and efforts be directed towards preserving those old paths.

If we do this, then God will surely bless us.

Jeremiah 6:16: “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”

We will find rest for our souls if we walk in the old paths, but just a few verses down we see the punishment for rejecting the ways laid down by God for us to follow.

Jeremiah 6:19-20 says: “Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it. To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.”

The worship of those who seek to go their own way is not acceptable to God.

Isaiah 29:13: “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.”

We must cleave to God’s ordained way of worshipping Him and to the precepts He has laid down in His Word.

And that includes standing up to those who would seek to persecute true Christians like the McArthurs as they defend themselves from those who, whether they claim to be Christian or don’t, would seek to denigrate the cause of Christ in our land.

‘LGBT service’ in Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church gets approval of homosexual who brought legal action against Asher’s Bakery

Last weekend, we at ‘Protestant Revival’ revealed the shocking ‘LGBT service’ held by All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church and their minister Rev Chris Hudson (pictured, above) on Sunday past.

In a staggering exhibition of defiance to God, the church sought to honour those who are living at open and brazen variance with God’s Word.

Following the service, the church put up a facebook post bragging about its disgraceful activity, which we have placed below.

It attracted a distressingly high number of ‘likes’ from other facebook users, with a total of 139 people or organisations indicating their approval when we last checked.

And there was definitely a few interesting characters expressing their support for such defiance of God.

Unsurprisingly, there was a ‘like’ from 1st Dunmurry Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, the ‘minister’ of which is ‘Rev’ Linda Ballard, who vowed prior to her ordination to base her ‘ministry’ “around gender issues”.

Then there was a ‘like’ from Lesley Macaulay, a woman whom we described back in June as “the previously obscure but suddenly high profile businesswoman (according to the Belfast Telegraph)” when she voiced loudly and repeatedly her objection to the Presbyterian Church, of which she was a member at the time, deciding to limit full communion to heterosexuals and barring the baptism of children in the care of homosexuals.

And then, most intriguingly of all, the presence of a ‘like’ on the facebook post by Gareth Lee, the sodomite who initially kicked up a fuss and pursued legal action against the Christian Asher’s Bakery.

It was Gareth Lee (pictured, below) who placed the order in Asher’s Bakery for what became known as the “gay cake”.

This was a cake he requested from the bakery, which he admitted himself had previously served him quite obligingly, bearing the slogan, ‘Support Gay Marriage’ and emblazoned with the name of a sodomite grouping of which Gareth Lee is a member.

To ice such a message would have gone against the Christian owners’ beliefs, the McArthur family. We are warned in Scripture not to wish evil-doers well in their efforts.

2 John 1:10-11 says: “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

The order was initially taken by another member of staff who was unsure how to react in the situation before Daniel McArthur, the manager, told Gareth Lee they were not able to fulfil the order as it went against their Christian convictions and refunded him.

Unhappy, Gareth Lee took his complaint to the (In)Equality Commission, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of which is a Presbyterian’minister’, the ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll (1 Timothy 2:12), who pursued the Christian McArthur family through the courts.

Disgracefully, the court found they had discriminated against Gareth Lee and ordered them to pay him compensation. Asher’s contested the decision and the matter now sits with the UK Supreme Court, with a final verdict expected later this year.

And it was this individual who indicated their approval for such a God-defying service as this.

Of course, it is no surprise to see a sodomite showing their support for such a church service, but it is very instructive as to the nature of the type of people the minister of that church chooses to align with and draws support from.

The minister of All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, Rev Chris Hudson, is on friendly terms with a character who has hounded through the courts the Christian owners of a bakery because they refuse to fall prostrate at the feet of the sodomite agenda.

It is like unto the dictatorial and blasphemous order from King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon to bow down before a golden image he had made to worship it.

When the faithful servants of Christ, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to do so, they kindled the wrath of the heathen.

Daniel 3:12-13,16-19: “There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. Then they brought these men before the king. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.”

Notice that the “form of his visage was changed against” these three servants of the one true God when they took their stand.

That is the same for the child of God when they take their stand. People with whom you may have previously been on civil, even amiable terms, when confronted with your beliefs which you have taken from God’s Word, will often change their attitude towards you.

Gareth Lee had previously made purchases from Asher’s Bakery and there had never been a problem. But when they told him they would not bow down to the sodomite agenda, everything changed.

However, this man is pleased by the actions of Rev Chris Hudson, a man who would claim to be serving God.

It is vital that we point out that regardless of his courting of the sodomite agenda, Rev Chris Hudson is in grave error by simply being a part of the Non-Subscribing Church.

This is because that church denies the divinity of Christ, they say he is not God the Son, which means they deny salvation by the cleansing power of the blood of Christ.

That makes it a false church, but still one which is leading poor blinded sinners to hell.

David could gladly say in Psalm 26:4-5: “I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.”

Rev Chris Hudson certainly cannot say that. Rather, he has actively sought them out and encouraged them to persist in their wicked ways, claiming that God is in approval of their vileness.

He is playing a very dangerous game indeed with his own soul, as he is warned in Isaiah 5:20.

It says: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Dear reader, let us reject the “doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1) and instead embrace Christ in all His fullness.

If you are as yet unsaved, it is our prayer that God will speak to you, for it is He alone who can convict you of your sin and cause you to come unto him humbly and penitently for forgiveness.

Romans 10:9-10: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Belfast Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church holds ‘LGBT service’ to celebrate sodomite ‘Pride’

The depths of apostasy in our land of Ulster seem to continue to increase, as we are grieved to say that tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon a Belfast church will host an LGBT service.

All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church will host the service as it disgracefully joins in the sodomite ‘Pride’ celebrations in our capital city, which has been overrun with this festival of filth for the past week.

Called their ‘Pride Service’, All Souls has been advertising its service on facebook, a screenshot of which we have dropped in below.

As you can see, they have, despicably, placed a table cloth embellished with the rainbow flag synonymous with the sodomite movement on top of the altar. You can also see from the caption in the screenshot we have provided that they advertised their service in the ‘Pride Guide’, a manual listing all the vile events being held to celebrate sodomy.

How much more polluted and perverted can so-called worship be?

When the law was being outlined in Leviticus, all manner of sexual deviancy, including incest and bestiality, as well as sodomy, is outlawed.

After outlining all these grave sins, God explains why they must restrain themselves and the consequences of such sin.

Leviticus 18:24-28 says: “Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.”

The land “vomited” out sodomites and others who perverted God’s natural order, because it had been “defiled” by this sexual deviancy.

What judgment must be awaiting our own land when it is paraded around the streets of our capital as something praiseworthy, as something commendable and as something noble?

This is compounded when so-called Christians are joining in the honouring of that which God has said is abominable.

We must at this point clarify that, regardless of this service, the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church in general, not just All Souls, must be avoided by all as it is a Unitarian church, meaning it denies the precious doctrine of the Trinity.

This means they deny that Jesus is the Son of God and therefore they reject our only means of salvation, which is by faith in Christ.

However, it is most distressing and grotesquely offensive nonetheless to see such vileness offered up as supposed worship of God.

This All Souls church has already been featured on ‘Protestant Revival’ as it is the church which hosts annually a ‘Transgender Day of Remembrance’ service and its 2015 edition was attended by Presbyterian Church ‘minister’, the ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll.

She performed a reading at the service in her role as Deputy Chief Commissioner of the (In)Equality Commission, the organisation persecuting the Christian Asher’s Bakery.

A presentation was also made that day to a woman who was soon to become the ‘Rev’ Linda Ballard (pictured, below), and she now ‘ministers’ in 1st Dunmurry Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church. At that time she had stated her “plans to form her ministry around gender issues”, a blasphemous notion and utterly unscriptural precept for any supposed ‘ministry’.

This is the character of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church and therefore it is no shock to see them holding a blasphemous service such as they are planning for tomorrow.

However, it does not mean we ought to be silent about it or just ignore it or shake our head and move on.

We are clearly told in Ephesians 5:11 we are to take the opposite approach.

It says: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

We are to reprove them, or, as that word can also be rendered, ‘expose’ them.

Sin must be called out for what it is. We must not keep our peace when we see such departure from and rejection of God’s Word.

Dear reader, let us not be silent in this day of great departure and declension.

Let us be as Jeremiah, who could do nothing but tell forth what it was that God would have him to say. Pray that you will be emboldened and strengthened by the Holy Spirit to take your stand clearly for God.

Jeremiah 20:9: “Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.”

The reproach of his neighbours and countrymen was weighing heavily upon Jeremiah, but he could not contain himself, he could do nothing but speak God’s truth.

He was “weary with forbearing”, he had tired himself out with holding his tongue and he could hold it no longer.

Dear Christian, have we as the people of God not been holding our tongues for too long? Have we not been silent for too long in the face of sin when we should have spoken out? Have we not allowed the enemies of God to gain great ground without us so much as trying to hamper their way?

We as a Christian people are expected by God to “earnestly contend for the faith” (Jude v 3).

In this day of deepening apostasy and of rejection of God by all and sundry, let us not be afraid to speak out against such evil, and let us truly be a Protestant people once more.

Presbyterian ‘minister’ Lesley Carroll gives her backing to transgenderism while helping persecute Asher’s Bakery

Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”

At ‘Protestant Revival’, we have previously highlighted the shocking ecumenical conduct of the so-called Presbyterian ‘minister’, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll (1 Timothy 2:12).

This includes addressing an ecumenical service in a Roman Catholic chapel in County Tyrone in January, at which she appeared to equate the Pope’s planned visit to Ireland with the birth of Jesus and stated that the Second Vatican Council offered hope to Christianity.

In addition to this heretical nonsense, we then featured her role as second-in-command of the (In)Equality Commission, the body bringing the disgraceful legal action against the Christian Asher’s Bakery, who have been persecuted by the forces of the state for refusing to betray their Christian principles by icing a cake with a message supporting gay marriage, a notion utterly repugnant to the Word of God (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27).

She has not offered one public pronouncement speaking out against the disgraceful treatment of the McArthur family, who own Asher’s Bakery, and continues to hold her position as Deputy Chief Commissioner and enthusiastically support the Inequality Commission’s work.

And now, while refusing to support Asher’s Bakery, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll has instead demonstrated her public support for the misguided and utterly unbiblical notion of transgenderism.

A transgender group called the ‘Belfast Butterfly Club’ recently marked 25 years of promoting its delusion and who was the special guest? The ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, of course.

According to the Belfast Butterfly Club’s website, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll “congratulated the club on its 25 years of transgender support charity work across Northern Ireland”.

She is also pictured on the right of our image at the top of this article with a leading member of this transgender grouping.

It is most instructive that a supposed ‘minister’ of the gospel, though of course it’s not a position she is entitled to hold, would rather be pictured showing her support to a group utterly at odds with God’s Word than with the Christian owners of Asher’s Bakery.

We would also say at this point, lest anyone reading this should start with the “but Jesus dined with sinners” line they love to peddle, that Jesus didn’t actively endorse sinful lifestyles.

Jesus didn’t endorse the Samaritan woman at the well’s sinful lifestyle. He didn’t say that having had five husbands was ok.

John 4:16-18: “Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.”

These same twisters of God’s Word also love to say about how Jesus ministered to prostitutes. That was an absolutely proper thing to do, everyone has a soul in need of salvation, but did Jesus give his blessing to immorality? Of course not. He sought to save people from their sinful estate.

Had there been an event in Jesus’ time such as this one in Belfast, would Jesus have attended and offered best wishes to the ‘Butterfly Club’? The very notion is utterly blasphemous.

‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll was not there to proselytise, otherwise she would not have been invited.

Indeed, this is not the first time that ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll has offered her support to the anti-Christian notion of transgenderism.

In November 2015, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll offered her support to another transgender grouping, the ‘Focus Trust’. Its tagline on its website neatly sums up its purpose: ‘Supporting transgender and intersex individuals and their families’.

According to the report on its website, ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll gave a reading. Whether or not it was from the Bible we are not told, but we can be fairly confident she didn’t read any of the verses already specified in this article.

‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll also attended that event in her role as Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Inequality Commission.

The event was termed as a ‘Transgender Day of Remembrance’ for those “transgender and intersex individuals worldwide who have lost their lives because of society’s intolerance towards them due to a condition they were born with”.

We are not sure what that refers to, but certainly were they physically harmed or subjected to mental abuse because of their decision to live in the way they have chosen, then that is wrong.

However, the condition they are actually born with, like us all, is sin.

Romans 3:23 reminds us that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Jeremiah 9:11 says: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Psalm 51:5 says: “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

We are all natural born sinners, from the point of our conception and the notion of ‘changing’ our gender based on our own feelings is an affront to God.

This meeting from 2015 was held in All Souls Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church in Belfast.

The denomination takes its name from the fact they refused to subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith at the time Henry Cooke led a great clear-out in the Presbyterian Church.

Among other major issues with the church, it adopts a Unitarian stance, thus rejecting the Biblical doctrine of the Trinity, meaning they reject the truth of Christ being God, making the church heretical and therefore somewhere no Presbyterian ‘minister’ or worshipper should attend, or indeed those belonging to any other denomination.

It would appear, from the report already referred to, this ‘Transgender Day of Remembrance’ happens in the Church annually, under the auspices of the minister there, Rev Chris Hudson.

At the event, he was presented with a ‘Transgender Champion’ award by the Moderator of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church, the Right (more like Wrong) Reverend Chris Wilson, on behalf of the Focus Trust.

Further evidence of the shocking defiance to God in that church was then demonstrated as a gift was presented to a student ‘minister’ of that denomination, a Linda Ballard (pictured, below). The report explains that this Linda Ballard “plans to form her ministry around gender issues”.

The very basis of her supposed ministry of the gospel is something utterly corrupt and contrary to God’s natural order. That is a truly disgraceful rejection of Biblical Christianity.

Linda Ballard is now the ‘minister’ of 1st Dunmurry Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church.

These are the sort of characters that ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll prefers to associate with.

Proverbs 13:20: “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

Psalm 26:4-5: “I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.”

‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll certainly does not heed this advice from the Word of God.

As we stated earlier, were ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll seeking the conversion of these characters, she would not be invited to these events.

Her compromise with the most brazen of sins is obvious, repeated and grave.

And any minister who teaches such error is guilty of the most serious offence in the eyes of God.

Ezekiel 33:8 says: “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

Reader, if you are as yet unsaved, please do not allow your blood to be on the hands of some apostate preacher, but rather heed the warnings of Christ and take of his free offer of grace.

Repent of your sin to God and ask forgiveness and He will save you.

1 John 1:8-9: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The blasphemy of female ministers such as ‘Rev’ Sarah Mullally

1 Timothy 2:9-12: “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

It is quite clear that the Bible prohibits the elevation of women into the role of pastors, teachers or other positions of authority in the church.

While this does not preclude women from fulfilling certain roles within the church, such as children’s work, it does mean women ought not to hold office in the church as they are in a position of authority over male adult members of the church.

One must only look at the appointment of the deacons in the Apostolic Church, as detailed in Acts 6:1-5: “And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch”.

Note that, not only were seven men chosen, it was strictly stated in advance that only men were to be considered – “look ye out among you seven men of honest report”.

This is quite clearly a God ordained precept and one which ought to be adhered to.

However, over the past number of decades, so-called Protestant churches have opted to ignore the various sections of Scripture pertaining to the role of the woman in the supposed interests of modernity and inclusivity, two dogmas pursued today, even by professing Christians, with far greater zeal than the precepts taught within the Bible.

In fact, so far down the road has this gone, that last year it was reported that more women than men had applied for the ministry in the Church of England.

And it is in that shameful context that we recently saw the appointment of the first ever female Bishop of London, a ‘Rev’ Sarah Mullally (pictured, top).

She is not the first female bishop appointed by the Church of England, indeed this is her second bishopric, but she is by far the most senior woman in the church, and is currently the third most senior figure in the Church of England, behind only the Arch-apostate of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu.

It has been a heady rise for ‘Rev’ Sarah Mullally, she having only quit secular employment in 2004, and it is an indication of the pace with which the apostate Church of England is descending to the gutter that within four and a half years of permitting female bishops, they have one sitting as third in command in the entire church.

In Proverbs 6 we are told of a number of things which the Lord hates and considers an abomination. Verse 18 gives us two of them. They are: “An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief”.

The overthrowing of God’s ordained order is undoubtedly a “wicked imagination” and the Church of England has certainly been “swift in running to mischief” by appointing so many female bishops in such a short space of time.

Women who hold ministerial positions are flagrantly disregarding God’s Word, and it is telling that often they are among the most notorious ecumenists and compromisers in the ordained ministry.

We need only look at the truly disgraceful situation whereby ‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll, an ordained Presbyterian ‘minister’, holds the position of Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission in Northern Ireland.

This is the organisation which has brought its repressive, anti-Christian legal action against Asher’s Bakery, simply because the bakery’s Christian owners refused to compromise their own beliefs by icing a cake with a message in support of gay marriage, a practice repugnant to the Word of God and illegal in Northern Ireland.

She has remained silent on the matter throughout the three years or since that matter first came to public attention.

‘Rev’ Lesley Carroll has, however, not remained silent in her ecumenical fervour, it is only when good is being attacked that she holds her tongue.

Another example is ‘Rev’ Christine Bradley, the ‘minister’ of Armagh Road Presbyterian Church in Portadown. She stressed her support in 2015 for gay marriage in the light of the referendum in the Republic of Ireland which favoured legalising that most anti-Christian of acts.

There are many more besides who are to the forefront of ecumenical compromise.

In fact, while researching a couple of months ago an article on the various ecumenical Good Friday walks of witness being held up and down the country, we were struck by the sheer number of women engaging enthusiastically in the apostasy and thus leading their congregations down the same broad road to destruction.

They included ‘Rev’ Anne Tolland of Newtownbreda Presbyterian Church, ‘Rev’ Maureen Hassard of Ballynafeigh Methodist Church, ‘Rev’ Elaine O’Brien of St John’s and St Ninian’s Church of Ireland, Whitehouse, Belfast, ‘Rev’ Liz Hughes of Whitehouse Presbyterian Church, ‘Rev’ Pauline Whan of Greencastle Methodist Church, ‘Rev’ Louise Monroe of Downpatrick Methodist Church and a ‘Sister’ Myrtle Morrison of St Saviour’s Church of Ireland, Craigavon.

Given that men do still significantly outnumber women in the ministry in Northern Ireland, this was a most noteworthy fact.

Also, when you see female ministers, you always notice they have their heads uncovered, unless, of course, they, like ‘Rev’ Sarah Mullally, are bedecked in their elaborate ceremonial garb.

This is despite this once again being part of God’s inspired and inerrant Word.

1 Corinthians 11:3-9: “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.”

That is pretty clear, isn’t it?

Every woman who attends church without her head suitably covered is acting in open and determined defiance of God and are dishonouring their husband, if they have one, and, most importantly, God, whom they are supposed to be there to worship.

Characters like ‘Rev’ Sarah Mullally are counted among the false prophets warned of in God’s Word. They are those who are described in 2 Timothy 3:5 as “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away”.

And dear reader, if you are in a church which tolerates the presence of women in the pulpit or in positions of authority, we hope and pray that you will “turn away” from such and separate yourselves unto God.

And if there happens to be any women reading this who hold positions of authority or indeed act in a ministerial capacity, we would implore you to consider your ways and examine the Word of God.

While this closing verse may use the male pronoun, it is equally applicable to women.

James 4:17: “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
