The clock is ticking for Emmanuel leader Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson

Five days ago we featured the latest step in the ecumenical compromise of Emmanuel leader Alain Emerson.

He will, this Sunday, address a meeting of the ecumenical Ballymena Church Members Forum in Ballymena Methodist Church.

The Ballymena Church Members Forum draws its membership from the Church of Ireland, Presbyterian Church, Methodist Church and Roman Catholic Church.

Previous meetings of this forum include meetings in the Roman Catholic Church and a day retreat to a Benedictine Monastery.

We said five days ago, and it is not our intention to repeat what we said then, that this is a meeting with the stamp of approval of Rome.

We also pointed out this was certainly not the first ecumenical compromise on Alain Emerson’s behalf, as he addressed a meeting in St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Belfast in February (pictured, below), which we previously featured and, to compound matters, he endorsed the anti-Christian, ritualistic and ecumenical worship style of Taizé at that meeting, which we also covered.

Five days ago, we advised Alain Emerson and his acolytes, for we are aware they are monitoring this page, that he had eight days in which to cancel this booking and, if he did so, we would be happy to write an item praising him for doing so.

We have been monitoring the situation and it appears he has no such plans to do so.

The Ballymena Church Members Forum continues to advertise this meeting this Sunday night, 22 April, and there is no indication from Alain Emerson himself that he plans to cancel this booking.

Indeed, Alain Emerson has further deepened his commitment to ecumenism, advertising on his Twitter page an event being held by ’24-7 Prayer Ireland’ in May.

It is being held in May Street Presbyterian Church in Belfast, which, we have discovered, is another den of ecumenical deceit.

In March it played host to a Women’s World Day of Prayer event, the danger of which we previously addressed, and in January the church celebrated the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, another event we previously warned against, by attending what they call their “annual” ‘Prayers Around The Cross’ service in St Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church on Alfred Street in Belfast.

According to May Street Presbyterian Church, it was a “most moving” candlelit service and thanks were extended to St Malachy’s for their “kind invitation” into the hub of iniquity.

At the 2017 service, May Street Presbyterian Church’s Clerk of Session Arthur Acheson performed a reading, so we know the senior office bearers in this church are fully behind this apostasy.

Once again, this demonstrates the type of fellowship Alain Emerson is keen to engage in and keen to persuade others to engage in as well.

There may be many who think we ought to remain silent and indeed think it is wrong to challenge Alain Emerson for his ecumenical treachery, but we are set a fine example by Paul as to what stance we should take with those whose actions serve to undermine the gospel of Christ.

Galatians 2:4-5 says: “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.”

Paul refused to countenance untruths or corruptions of God’s Word for so much as an hour, and by the grace of God, neither will we.

Does Alain Emerson, the leader of a supposedly God exalting church, believe it is OK to mingle seed with Romanists and their chums? Does he believe it is God honouring to associate spiritually with those who would blaspheme against God in so many ways?

By encouraging others to follow him and setting a very poor example, Alain Emerson is guilty of the same crime as those priests in Malachi 2:8, of whom God said: “But ye are departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law.”

Alain Emerson is treading a dangerous line and needs to be very careful. God will not tolerate such behaviour.

Matthew 18:7: “Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!”

Are not these meetings Alain Emerson is leading and advertising an offence to God? They most assuredly are, and God promises a most fearsome punishment to those who bring these offences.

We renew our call once again to Alain Emerson only now he has three days to cancel this booking and again we would encourage readers to share this post to help challenge him on his continued failure to abide by Biblical standards.
