Jeremiah 6:15: “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.”
Philippians 3:18-19: “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.”
It is a most grievous thing to God when we sin, but that sin is compounded still further when those who sin take pride in their iniquitous conduct, those who “were not at all ashamed” when they had committed abomination; those “whose glory is in their shame”.
And so it is with Very Reverend (Very Reprehensible!) John Mann, the former Church of Ireland Dean of Belfast, who led the ecumenical treachery which is synonymous with St Anne’s Cathedral in that city.
In our picture we can see him grinning proudly next to the Arch-apostate of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who had just awarded him the ‘Lambeth Cross’ for his ecumenical work in Belfast.
What a dreadful thing to glory in and a shameful thing to reward!
The award citation for Very Reprehensible John Mann reads: “The Lambeth Cross for Ecumenism, for courageous and visionary leadership which affirmed diversity, fostered healing and made Belfast Cathedral (St Anne’s) a place of welcome as a sacred civic space at the heart of a divided city.”
Very Reprehensible John Mann has done many great things in the eyes of sinful men, such as the Arch-apostate of Canterbury, but nowhere in his citation has he been praised for faithful preaching of God’s Word, earnestly contending for the faith or showing sinners the way to salvation.
These are the things that men who claim to be God’s servants are supposed to, but “by their fruits ye shall know them” and the fruit brought forth by Very Reprehensible John Mann is very loathsome indeed.
This betrayal of his Protestant heritage was no more evident than in July 2016 when he installed a Roman Catholic priest, a ‘Father’ Edward O’Donnell, as an ecumenical canon in St Anne’s Cathedral.
What an absolute disgrace!
He installed a Mary worshipping, prayers for the dead saying, Pope exalting, Purgatory believing, salvation by faith alone denying heretic to a position of authority and held him up to the congregation at St Anne’s and all within the Church of Ireland and the wider Anglican movement as an acceptable, nay admirable, figure, worthy of being listened to and in whose hands it was acceptable to place your spiritual welfare.
He also launched an ecumenical youth choir with students from a Protestant school, a Roman Catholic school and an integrated school.
You can be sure that the Roman Catholic pupils wouldn’t have been allowed near a so-called Protestant church were it feared they might be taught the truth of the gospel, rather than the pagan corruption of Rome.
And what Very Reprehensible John Mann has achieved through this is help set a generation of young people on their way to hell by bringing them in to sing at services where he is spewing out his filth and shame.
On numerous occasions throughout his epistles, the Apostle Paul said the phrase “I would not have you ignorant”, but Very Reprehensible John Mann fostered ignorance during his reign of terror and he and his followers have a fearsome price to pay.
Hosea 4:6-10″ My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.”
That is a powerful passage of God’s inspired Word (no doubt Very Reprehensible John Mann will add to his list of heresies by denying that it is inspired) and no doubt the fans of St Anne’s Cathedral will want to cover their ears when faced with this prophecy of Hosea.
Could there be more apt a phrase, “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” for the state that apostate clerics such as Very Reprehensible John Mann leave their congregations in?
God has rejected him and there awaits the same fate for his followers (“there shall be, like people, like priest”).
What a fearsome position to be in! Please, dear reader, do not allow some apostate to take you to hell with them.
Just because Very Reprehensible John Mann appears to be doing well right now, do not forget that God’s judgement is awaiting him and one day he will find he can run no further from the God he has claimed to serve but has so blasphemously denied.
Ecclesiastes 8:11-13: “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.”
God’s judgement is coming on all who deny him and Nahum 1:3 tells us He “will not at all acquit the wicked”.
If you are involved with a church in the ecumenical movement, please separate yourself and, if you’re not saved, look to Christ, who alone can atone for sins.
1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
