Quakers in Ireland give their backing to sodomite ‘marriage’

The apostasy in our land is deepening day by day and this has been shouted out loud and clear by the Quakers in Ireland, who have voted to hold ‘gay weddings’ in their meeting houses.

At their yearly meeting in County Limerick in the Republic of Ireland they decided to make the disgraceful, God-defying step of holding ‘gay marriage’ ceremonies in their churches.

Quakers Ireland covers the entirety of Ireland, both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

While gay marriage remains illegal in Northern Ireland, and we ought to earnestly pray this will remain the case, it means Quaker meetings in the Republic of Ireland will hold sodomite ‘wedding’ ceremonies, in absolute defiance of God’s own established order.

For our readers’ information, the Ulster division of the Quakers, or the Religious Society of Friends, boasts the largest number of congregations of any in Ireland.

In addition to two fellowships in Belfast, there are also gatherings in two further cities, Londonderry and Lisburn, as well as Coleraine. The rest, bar one near Dungannon in County Tyrone, are all in County Armagh.

The issue of homosexuality in the church is one we have had to address on numerous occasions of late, as so-called Christians and so-called Christian churches continue to compromise with this evil world on the sin of sodomy.

As we have previously stated, the Bible is utterly clear on the matter.

We will remind readers what God’s Word has to say.

Leviticus 18:22: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”

Romans 1:22-27: “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”

Genesis 2:24: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

At absolutely no point in God’s Word are same-sex relationships endorsed or even tolerated, yet even so-called Christians today, demonstrating the distressing apostasy of our age, are actively supporting such flagrant rejection of God.

The Quakers, in their statement on the matter, made no referral to what they see as being the justification for such a retrograde step, nor did they offer any Biblical support for their decision.

That is entirely unsurprising, as there is none, and apostates tend not to be able to use much by way of Scripture to support their stance.

Instead, all they said was that “If any Quaker Meetings, solemnisers or members do not wish to participate in meetings for worship for same-sex marriages as a matter of conscience, there is no obligation to do so.”

They said this was “to facilitate the range of views held within the society”.

And they concluded their shoddy statement by saying: “Quakers have a diversity of views on marriage between people of the same sex taking place in a meeting for worship because of the range of their theological, spiritual and biblical approaches but we are united through love for one another.”

This really is a dreadfully sad statement from the Quakers in Ireland.

There are issues on which we may disagree as Christians, but the issue of gay marriage is truly a fundamental point of faith.

God has already pronounced his curse on such a sin, having destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and he has called it in His Word an “abomination”, “unseemly” and “against nature”.

For such an action to be carried out by the Quakers, regardless of whether individual members have the right to opt out of such events, is truly a separation matter and we would encourage anyone involved in that movement to withdraw themselves.

If you know anyone involved with the Quakers, we would ask you to share this with them and urge them to separate themselves.

1 Timothy 4:1: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”

2 Corinthians 6:17: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
