New Wine to continue same old compromise with Romanists and ecumenicals running the show

The annual New Wine Ireland conference, staged each year in Sligo on the west coast of the island, is always a great opportunity for learning – learning from those who serve to harm the cause of Christ in our land, that is.

And, sadly, 2021 looks like it will be no different.

There is a quite staggering line-up of individuals due to speak at the conference this year (Covid depending,  presumably) who are far from suitable individuals from whom to be receiving spiritual teaching.

Not only are there a number of very clear compromisers on the speakers list, but there is also a Roman Catholic monk due to teach those in attendance.

This is very clearly an outrageous situation.

Previous years have seen Romanists including a Paddy Monaghan of the Evangelical Catholic Initiative and a Roman Catholic Bishop speak at the conference, and this year they have a Romanist abbot coming to spread Romanist deceit.

The Papist invited to New Wine is Benedictine monk, Mark Ephrem-Nolan (pictured, below), the leader of the Benedictine Abbey (recently upgraded from a monastery) in Rostrevor in County Down.

That monastery is essentially a monument to ecumenism, indeed ecumenical fellowship is a key selling point for that ungodly facility and one of the main speakers at its official opening in 2004 was former Archbishop of Canterbury George Carey.

Indeed Abbot (as his official title is now) Mark-Ephrem Nolan has came to our attention previously, having been invited to preach at St Patrick’s Church of Ireland cathedral in Armagh in an outrageous exhibition of religious compromise.

Whether Rome puts on a friendly ecumenical face or not, and no doubt Mark Ephrem-Nolan is a perfectly amiable chap, their doctrines remain the same.

Rome still teaches the lie of Mary worship, of praying to saints, of purgatory, of papal infallibility, of confession to a priest and of the mass to this very day.

And all these wickednesses are taught and practiced at Mark-Ephrem Nolan’s abbey in County Down.

Indeed, this maintaining of Popish deceit while trying to embrace foolish Protestants is explicitly admitted in work published online by prominent local ecumenical academic Gladys Ganiel.

This can be seen in her essay entitled ‘Christianity as a Vocation: The Rostrevor Benedictines and the Renewal of Faith in Ireland’, which forms part of a wider work called ‘Mining Truths: Festschrift (or collection of writings, in ordinary people’s terms) in Honour of Geraldine Smyth OP – Ecumenical Theologian and Peacebuilder’.

OP, by the way, is a title given to members of the Romanist Dominican order, Geraldine Smyth having been a prominent nun.

In Gladys Ganiel’s essay relating to the Benedictines at Rostrevor, she says: “The specifically ‘Catholic’ aspects of the chapel, such as an icon of Mary and a small tabernacle for storing the Eucharistic elements, are located unobtrusively in a corner at the back of the chapel and to the side of the front platform, respectively.”

So they, and Mark-Ephrem Nolan, aren’t ‘in your face’ about their Popery, but it is still there, they still believe it and they still practice it.

All this makes it more mystifying as to why supposedly God honouring organisers would invite such a character to their conference. Doing so is most certainly not God honouring.

Former minister at the terribly modern Willowfield Parish Church in East Belfast and now Bishop of Down and Dromore, David McClay (pictured, top) leads the way on New Wine.

His former church is part of a link-up of five churches in the east and south Belfast areas, along with Newtownbreda Comedy Club, sorry, Newtownbreda Baptist Church, Corrymeela supporting CFC Belfast, Orangefield Presbyterian Church and Crown Jesus Ministries, led by Keith Mitchell (though he likes to be called ‘Mitch’), who actively promotes fellowship with Rome and teaches salvation can be obtained by taking a booklet.

With those sorts of links having been established, it is scarcely surprising Bishop David McClay is equally undiscerning when it comes to whom he invites to his conference.

Among them is ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas (pictured, above), leading figure in the charismatic, heretic promoting Causeway Coast Vineyard and a man who is utterly wedded to ecumenical compromise.

Rather neatly, he has previously expressed his great admiration for Mark-Ephrem Nolan, saying he was “incredible company” with which to be associated when they appeared on the same bill of speakers for a Church of Ireland clergy conference.

Also taking part in the conference is former Presbyterian Moderator Rev Charles McMullen, a man who has previously refused to condemn sodomy as a sin and who gleefully raced down to Dublin to do obeisance before “that Antichrist”, the Pope during his term as Moderator.

Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Rev Andrew Forster, is another luminary in the apostate denominations who will be part of this year’s New Wine vintage.

While an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Armagh, he shamefully refused to make any comment or statement in condemnation of one of his colleagues in the diocese, Rev Andrew Rawding, as he so brazenly promoted sodomy by parading in sodomite ‘Pride’ marches and co-founding a sodomite ‘Pride’ group operating in the area where Rev Andrew Forster was ministering.

He is a classic example of a “dumb dog” (Isaiah 56:10) failing to bark to warn the flock of the danger before them.

And another example of someone who is a questionable choice as a spiritual guide, and who the Bible says ought not to have a flock under their charge, is another Anglican ‘minister’, ‘Rev’ Alison Calvin.

Having emphatically put 1 Timothy 2:12 in the bin as she set out on her career path, ‘Rev’ Alison Calvin is the ‘minister’ of Christ Church in Kilkeel, County Down.

Indeed, the speaker list for this year’s conference states that ‘Rev’ Alison Calvin “builds, trains and leads a Prophetic Prayer Team at our Summer Conference”.

Alarm bells ought to be ringing when phrases like “prophetic prayer” are bandied about.

For those wondering what exactly prophetic prayer is, this is how it is described by an Australian practitioner of this unbiblical pursuit called Helen Calder, who runs a website called ‘Enliven Blog’.

“The prophetic aspect of prophetic prayer, is that you can pray with revelation (prophetic insight) given to you by the Holy Spirit.

“The Holy Spirit has revealed something that you would not know by natural means – the Father’s purpose and intent – and that knowledge is assisting your prayer.”

Extra-Biblical revelation, then.

We are reminded of the fact there is no new revelation at the end of the book which goes by that name.

Revelation 22:18-19: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Yet here is ‘Rev’ Alison Calvin deciding she knows better than God’s Word. After all, she clearly knows better by pursuing the career she has, so why not again?

This is but a flavour of the individuals who will be put forward as appropriate guides for the people who would hope to be in attendance at this event.

Dear reader, New Wine continues to get up to its same old tricks of putting forward a combination of Romanists, charismaniacs and compromisers and claiming they are messengers of God.

Please warn those you know of the dangers of this conference and indeed the dangers of the speakers being promoted at it.

We must ever be vigilant and alert to those who would do harm to the cause of Christ while claiming to be promoting Him.

Colossians 2:8: “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

Evangelical Alliance rewarding Popery – Peter Lynas promoted to top UK role

Malachi 3:15: “And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.”

This is a verse we quoted when veteran Church of Ireland ecumenical cleric Canon David Skuce became Chancellor David Skuce, promoted by that old Romish compromiser the Right Eejit John McDowell, Bishop of Clogher.

What exactly it means for David Skuce’s lofty title now he has moved off to Donegal in the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe we are not entirely sure, but we believed that verse was apt for him and we feel it is equally apt now for Peter Lynas, another who has seen his Romish compromise rewarded by professional elevation, though both may seek to claim it is vocational elevation.

For Peter Lynas, a man whose actions are so synonymous with rank compromise with Romanism that he meritoriously received the moniker of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, has been promoted to one of the most senior roles in the Evangelical Alliance.

He was already the Evangelical Alliance Director in Northern Ireland but now he is occupying the same position over the whole of the United Kingdom.

It would certainly appear that religious compromise and ecumenical betrayal of your Protestant heritage is a sure way to the top in many allegedly Chrustian organisations.

Among Peter Lynas’ most transparently God defying actions was his criticism of any who opposed supposed Christians running down to Dublin to meet “that Antichrist”, the Pope, his eulogising of ecumenical evangelist Billy Graham and his describing of a Romanist monk and God-defying ‘Protestant’ ecumenists as “incredible company”.

And he also decried any who would have the temerity to challenge him for his God-defiance in compromising with the hellish teachings and practices of Popery as being guilty of harbouring “residual bigotry”.

There are plenty more instances of his demonstrating his utter unsuitability for having any type of spiritual oversight over anyone, such as suggesting that churches introduce “trans” accessible toilets, and you can see some more of them by clicking here.

It shows something is very much out of place with so many who claim to be serving God when they are happy to be represented by such a character.

Did Jesus mingle with false religion? Did He condemn those who came to Him by faith alone? Did He describe as “incredible company” those who teach a false gospel of works-based righteousness?

The answer to all of these is a clear and resounding “no”.

Jesus dined with sinners and spoke with those practising false religion, but He didn’t encourage them on in their sin.

When Jesus spoke with the Samaritan woman at the well, He didn’t sugar coat things with her, He made it clear her current relationship was sinful (see John 4:16-18).

Jesus then made it clear to her that her religion was nothing but a confused, mongrel mess of a religion.

John 4:22-24: “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Rome cannot worship God in spirit and in truth, for it blasphemes the Holy Spirit and is built on a lie, yet Peter Lynas is delighted for professing Christians to cower before the leader of that devilish system.

The religion referred to by Christ is that same mongrel mess created after the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel as detailed in 2 Kings 17:25-29,32-33, which says: “And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the Lord: therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which slew some of them. Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land. Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land. Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Beth-el, and taught them how they should fear the Lord. Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt. So they feared the Lord, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. They feared the Lord, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.”

The descendants of these ungodly forefathers then tried to disrupt the work of rebuilding the temple, doing so under the banner of being co-religionists with the true Jews.

Ezra 4:1-2: “Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the Lord God of Israel; Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.”

The Jewish leaders were wise to these ecumenical advances, unlike many foolish Protestants today, and give us a fine example of separation from religious error.

Note the Scriptures call such characters “the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin”.

When their ecumenical advances are rejected, their true colours quickly shine through.

Ezra 4:3-5 says: “But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the Lord God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us. Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building, And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.”

So it is with Rome, we must not fellowship or work alongside false religion, but Peter Lynas throws himself in headlong with Rome.

Jesus never once told people they were saved by their works, but rather by their faith.

Mark 10:51-52 says: “And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.”

Luke 7:50 says: “And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”

Rome teaches we are saved by our works and by fulfilling its sacraments, and indeed pronounces its curse on any who teach salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone.

This is despite Ephesians 2:8-9, which says: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

So why does the supposedly ‘Evangelical’ Alliance leader Peter Lynas not speak out against Rome, but rather call characters involved in it “incredible company”?

Did Christ proclaim that the false teachers of His day were “incredible company”?

This is what He said in Matthew 23:13: “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.”

He continued in verse 33, saying: “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

Jesus wasn’t mincing His words, was He?

Any true follower of Jesus, and you will know them by their works, will refuse to mingle with false religion, will refuse to praise those who deny the truth of the gospel and will unashamedly speak out against religious error.

As Jesus pointed out, this is a matter of heaven or hell, a matter of life or death.

Those following false religion, such as those dear souls within the Roman Catholic Church, are having the door to heaven effectively bolted in front of them by their false teachers, who, Christ warns, are themselves in grave peril.

He asks them, “how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

Peter Lynas continually cosies up with a church whose priests shut up the doors of heaven to their adherents and goes so far as to condemn those who point out that this is unscriptural as bigots.

Do not be deceived into following his example, regardless of the lofty position he currently occupies.

If you are not saved, ask yourself the same question posed by Jesus around 2,000 years ago – “how can ye escape the damnation of hell?”

There is but one way – through repentance of sins and believing in Christ for salvation.

Jesus says in Mark 1:15: “repent ye, and believe the gospel”.

Acts 4:12 says: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

We must be saved – won’t you to come to Christ for salvation even today?

John 6:37: “… him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

ABBA ‘prayer dancing’ Pete Greig and Rome loving Mike Pilavachi for Causeway Coast Vineyard conference

2 Timothy 4:2-4: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

Last week on ‘Protestant Revival’ we highlighted two of the inappropriate characters who will be “preaching” and leading “worship” at Causeway Coast Vineyard’s ‘Encounter More’ conference, which will run from Thursday, 23 to Saturday, 25 May.

They are Havilah Cunnington and Jeremy Riddle, representatives of that frankly frightening hotbed of charismatic deceit, Bethel Ministries, whose blasphemies you can get an idea of by clicking here.

We simply couldn’t go into enough detail in one post to outline all the heretical speakers who will be purporting to offer spiritual guidance to the poor attendees of Causeway Coast Vineyard, but we can reveal that more brazenly ecumenical and God-defying speakers and worship leaders will be held up and exalted by those in charge at Causeway Coast Vineyard Church.

They are Mike Pilavachi (pictured, top) and Beth and Andy Croft of Soul Survivor church and Pete Greig (pictured, below), who runs 24-7 Prayer.

Pete Greig, for any readers who aren’t aware, is an out and out compromiser with Rome and a leading figure in the ungodly charismatic excesses which, sadly, figure prominently in so much of professing Christendom.

Indeed, he is at the extreme end of this.

And that can be seen in the fact that he claims God told him that He, the Almighty God of heaven, the eternal, unchangeable God who cannot abide sin, was “quite enjoying” a group of young women dressed up for a night out on the town coming into a prayer room he was in charge of, turning the stereo up (why it was there in any event is a good question) and proceeding to prayer dance to a song by Swedish pop group ABBA.

They apparently put their own ‘religious’ words to one of ABBA’s seemingly well-known songs, Super Trouper.

This is a blasphemy, yet Pete Greig has the gall to claim, not only that it was an acceptable form of worship, but that it was given the seal of approval of God.

What an outrage!

Furthermore, Pete Greig has played an active role in helping the Roman Catholic Church lure more people in to its evil clutches.

Pete Greig addressed the diocesan assembly of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna in St Stephen’s Roman Catholic Cathedral in the Austrian capital.

Tweeting afterwards, Pete Greig said: “Truly wonderful time in Vienna addressing 1,700 bishops, nuns, priests, laity from every church in the Archdiocese. Extraordinary signs of renewal – ‘unthinkable 9 years ago’ says the Cardinal.”

So Pete Greig was rejoicing in helping and seeing an increase in the number of people coming under the pagan influence of Rome.

Not only that, the 24-7 Prayer organisation which he heads up is an indisputably ecumenical organisation.

And its leader in Ireland is none other than Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson, lead pastor at the truly Christ-rejecting Emmanuel Church in the Craigavon area.

That, in itself, says it all.

The Jesuit promoter that is Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson leads 24-7 Prayer Ireland and indeed had Pete Greig as a celebrity guest at Emmanuel Church’s ‘Tobar’ conference last year, showing the strong links between the pair.

As for Mike Pilavachi and his Soul Survivor church, this man is another confirmed ecumenist.

His Soul Survivor church hosts summer camps each year and every year since at least 2016 these camps have offered the Roman Catholic Mass, a grievous blasphemy against God.

The Roman Catholic catechism says this of the Mass: “Because it is the memorial of Christ’s Passover, the Eucharist is also a sacrifice. In the Eucharist Christ gives us the very body which he gave up for us on the cross, the very blood which he “poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.””

Rome claims they are making a sacrifice of Christ in the Mass, yet the Bible says this in Hebrews 10:11-12: “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God”.

Christ made “one sacrifice for sins for ever”, yet Rome repeatedly claims to be offering a sacrifice of Christ, thus serving to totally reject and blaspheme this most precious and crucial tenet of Scripture.

But Mike Pilavachi, whether he practices the Mass personally or not, serves to do the same by facilitating this blasphemous sacrifice.

But he will be offered an enthusiastic welcome to Causeway Coast Vineyard Church next week.

Mike Pilavachi has also demonstrated his enthusiasm for fellowshipping with heretics by being pictured alongside the Archbishop (read, Arch-apostate) of Canterbury, Justin Welby and Bishop Michael Curry, the sodomy-supporting American heretic who impressed the gullible and fellow-apostates at last year’s Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The trio are pictured together, below.

They were all at the main celebration of the utterly ecumenical ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer initiative, founded by Arch-apostate of Canterbury Justin Welby and given the seal of approval of “that man of sin, and son of perdition”, the Pope,

‘Thy Kingdom Come’ has devotionals to Mary accompanying it and Mike Pilavachi was the main speaker at the event.

So the Pope and Causeway Coast Vineyard Church have something (plenty of things, most likely) in common – they both promote events headlined by Mike Pilavachi.

That is very instructive.

Having the approval of the Pope is certainly not something any of us should want.

John 15:18-19 says: “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”

The Pope is undoubtedly “of the world” and will “love his own”. That would include the likes of Mike Pilavachi.

So why would Causeway Coast Vineyard want such characters as Pete Greig and Mike Pilavachi at their conference?

Well, Causeway Coast Vineyard’s previous lead pastor, Alan Scott, infamously said he was “all in” with the Pope during a sermon at Causeway Coast Vineyard.

And one of its leading figures, Peter Lynas (pictured, below), who also heads up the allegedly Evangelical Alliance, has repeatedly aligned himself with ecumenists and Romanists.

While it is little surprise to see a supposedly God-exalting church promote and fellowship with those who bring dishonour to the cause of Christ, it is imperative those who are saved and endeavouring to follow Christ take a stand against such error and compromise.

Psalm 94:16: “Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?”

God is asking the question and continues to ask it today – who will stand up, who will rise up for Him against those who act contrarily to His will?

Will we speak out against such falsehoods and their propagators? Or will we hold our peace?

Let us be bold and sound the alarm in this evil day and generation and refuse to sit by idly as such blasphemies are being committed in the name of Christ.

Joel 2:1: “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain”.

Heretical Bethel welcomed into Causeway Coast Vineyard

Acts 20:28-30: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”

Last week, we highlighted a conference organised by Journey Community Church in Antrim featuring leading figures in the Bethel Ministries movement.

The ‘Kingdom Come’ conference was held at Glenmachan Church of God in east Belfast and featured notable characters within Bethel such as Eric Johnson, Chris Cruz and Kristene Di Marco.

We also highlighted some of the outrageous beliefs taught by Bethel, quoting its leading figures espousing them.

This included extra-biblical revelation, attempting to raise people from the dead and the disputed practice of ‘grave sucking’, which Bethel leader Bill Johnson described as “anointings, mantles, revelations and mysteries that have lain unclaimed, literally where they were left, because the generation that walked in them never passed them on”.

Bizarrely, and sadly, this wasn’t enough to convince some of those who visited the facebook page connected with this page of the dangers of Bethel.

However, the fact remains that Bethel Ministries is a church and movement which ought to be shunned and repudiated by any true child of God.

Sadly, rejecting and remaining separate from that which is offensive to God is not a strong suit of Causeway Coast Vineyard Church, based in Coleraine, County Londonderry on the north coast of Northern Ireland, who promptly invited Bethel to their Sunday services immediately after the conference ended.

Indeed, Causeway Coast Vineyard Church is not only associated with that which is offensive to God, but it has shown itself to be part of the problem by the characters it associates with.

Its former lead pastor, Alan Scott (pictured, above), now slumming it in a Vineyard Church in sunny California, said in a service at Causeway Coast Vineyard that he was “all in” with the Pope.

Peter Lynas, leader of the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland and a leading figure in Causeway Coast Vineyard, has repeatedly acted in a way which, in the light of God’s Word, is highly questionable.

Peter Lynas endorsed so-called Protestants running down to Dublin to cower before the Pope and criticised all who dared to speak out against such rank rejection of the Word of God.

Peter Lynas eulogised the ecumenical evangelist Billy Graham at his passing, despite the fact Billy Graham instructed poor lost Roman Catholics seeking the way of salvation back into the clutches of Rome.

Peter Lynas described the likes of a Romanist Benedictine monk, Mark Ephrem-Nolan and ardent ecumenists such as Church of Ireland Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Ken (No) Good as “incredible company” when speaking at the same Church of Ireland Clergy Conference as the pair specified and other unimpressive characters.

Peter Lynas described those who seek to take a stand against ecumenism as being guilty of “residual bigotry”.

Peter Lynas, as head of the Evangelical Alliance, has refused to take a stand against Biblical creation denier Glen Mitchell’s church, King’s Church in Bangor and Jesuit promoter Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson’s church, Emmanuel Church in the Craigavon area, being members of that organisation.

Peter Lynas compounded this by then being filmed alongside Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson (the pair are pictured together, below) in promoting a prayer event being ran by 24-7 Prayer Ireland, which Alain Emerson heads up. This organisation’s overall leader, Pete Greig, is a rampant ecumenist who has been advising the Roman Catholic Church on how to lure more people in.

And, just the day after Bethel Ministries finished their ‘Kingdom Come’ conference under the auspices of Journey Community Church in Antrim, they were taking both Sunday meetings at Causeway Coast Vineyard Church.

Eric Johnson, one of the senior pastors at Bethel, who claims to have been called to the ministry by a charismatic leader placing a finger on his head (you can hear his account of this by clicking here), spoke at the morning meeting.

The evening meeting was led by Chris Cruz, the Young Adults Pastor at Bethel Ministries.

Bethel’s arrival at Causeway Coast Vineyard was greeted with great enthusiasm on their social media outlets, demonstrating very clearly their support for such God-defiance as that demonstrated by Bethel.

So many churches are giving room to such movements as Bethel.

This is something which was foretold by the Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of God, when writing to Timothy.

It says in 1 Timothy 4:1: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”.

There can be little doubt that such gatherings, where individuals are falling over, convulsing on the floor, laughing hysterically and flat out unconscious, are “giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils”.

There is certainly nothing of Christ in that.

Such churches like to make much of the Holy Spirit.

That’s fine surely, isn’t it? It certainly is, the Holy Spirit is one person of the Trinity, but they make things of the Holy Spirit which are simply not part of the Bible.

Where in the Bible is there mentioned laughing uncontrollably under the influence of the Holy Spirit? Where is there mentioned all manner of riotous behaviour being carried out under the influence of the Holy Spirit?

There is none, it simply isn’t there.

Furthermore, this over emphasis on the Holy Spirit is non-Scriptural.

The role of the Holy Spirit is to lead people to Christ and to glorify Him.

John 16:13-14 says: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

The Holy Spirit doesn’t strive to bring attention to Himself, but rather to bring attention to Christ.

Being determined to be so filled with the Holy Spirit that you are falling over and laughing like a hyena is a sad corruption of God’s Word.

And, of course, these people are not filled with the Holy Spirit.

The Bible shows us what being filled with the Holy Spirit looks like.

Acts 6:3 says: “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.”

It would be hard for Stephen or the other deacons to have shown much wisdom if they were writhing around on the floor, wouldn’t it? And we can’t imagine they would have been able to look after any business within the church whilst laughing uncontrollably.

Micah 3:8 says: “But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.”

Micah, the servant of God, was full of the Holy Spirit and was able to show judgment and point out the sins of the Israelites.

The charismatic movement is notable for its “judge not” approach, showing its biblical illiteracy. Ironically, they turn their “judge not” approach into a form of a holier than thou contest to be the least judging type of person. No wonder so many heretics have been allowed to creep in when you daren’t speak out against them.

There is the example of Paul, being filled with the Holy Ghost in Acts 13, reproving Barjesus for trying to turn Sergius Paulus away from the true gospel.

Did Paul writhe around on the floor barking like a dog or laughing like a hyena? Absolutely not.

He spoke sensibly and clearly, saying in verse 10: “O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?”

Paul was very firm, blunt and clear in his speaking out against workers of error.

Could we not say in this day and generation, to the likes of Bethel Ministries and Causeway Coast Vineyard, “wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?”

There is an endless stream of God-defiance coming out of Causeway Coast Vineyard.

Eventually, this will lead to judgment.

God has promised this.

On numerous occasions we have highlighted the errors of Causeway Coast Vineyard and yet it appears to be falling on deaf ears

We will just leave Peter Lynas, Causeway Coast Vineyard Church and Bethel Ministries with this word of warning from God’s Word.

Proverbs 29:1: “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.”

If you or anyone you know is still involved with this church and you truly love the Lord, then won’t you separate yourself now and take a stand for Christ.

Revelation 18:4-5: “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.”

And if you have not truly come to God in repentance for your sins, won’t you please do it even now, wherever you are. Whether you are at work, sitting on the sofa watching TV, lying in your bed, out for a walk, wherever you are, won’t you put your faith and trust in Christ for salvation and leave aside all the sideshows of these churches.

2 Corinthians 6:2: “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Peter Lynas and Evangelical Alliance join forces with Jesuit promoter Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson

Jeremiah 14:10-14: “Thus saith the Lord unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the Lord doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins. Then said the Lord unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place. Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

Much polluted worship is offered up in our land today and, like the Pharisees of old, those behind it think “that they shall be heard for their much speaking” (Matthew 7:7).

Many believe that simply invoking the name of Christ will be sufficient to ensure their utterances reach the courts of heaven.

However, Psalm 66:18 tells us that “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me”.

And surely such a peril lies before those organisers of the prayer event held at the gates of Stormont, the would-be seat of power in Northern Ireland, were we not held to ransom by murderers and their apologists, on Sunday past, 24 March.

The event was organised by 24-7 Prayer Ireland, which is an ungodly organisation in the first place.

It is headed up by Alain Emerson (pictured on the right of the image at the top of this article), lead pastor of the anti-Christian charismatic Emmanuel Church, based in the Craigavon area.

Alain Emerson’s ecumenical rap sheet is so long it would make your eyes water, hence his richly deserved moniker of Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson.

You can read his lengthy list of betrayal of the gospel of Jesus Christ by clicking here, which reached its nadir (thus far!) back in November when he engaged in whole-hearted promotion of that wretched Romanist Ignatius of Loyola.

He is, of course, the man who founded the dreadful Jesuit order of priests set up specifically to lead the Counter Reformation, which fought to suppress the glorious light of the gospel, so wonderfully unveiled by God through Martin Luther and others.

Ignatius of Loyola’s Jesuit order led the centuries long, bloody Inquisition, in which untold millions of Protestants, Jews and Muslims were murdered simply for not being Romanists.

But Ignatius of Loyola is a great “dude”, according to Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson.

And on Sunday past he was leading this ungodly event under the auspices of 24-7 Prayer, which was held to, ostensibly, petition God to intervene and restore working government at Stormont and allow everyone to agree over the interminable ‘Brexit’ saga.

Presumably they believe God wants the murderers and apologists for murder of Sinn Fein to reassume control of our affairs.

Another leading figure in the religious deceit spreading throughout our land, ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas (pictured on the left of the image at the top of this article), was also heartily promoting this event.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas is another whose ecumenical rap sheet is the length of your arm, and you can read all about that by clicking here.

He is the leader of the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland and is a senior figure at Causeway Coast Vineyard Church in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

Alain Emerson’s Emmanuel Church is a member of the Evangelical Alliance, and the strong links between him and Peter Lynas were further demonstrated on Sunday past when he publicly expressed his support for, and attended, this initiative.

Peter Lynas tweeted after the event, saying it was “so great to be part of this”.

And indeed, beforehand, he actually appeared in a video alongside Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson or, as he matily referred to him in the video, “Ally”.

Ironically, Alain Emerson is also an ally of Peter Lynas in the ecumenical deceit spreading throughout Ulster.

In that video, and another posted by Peter Lynas afterwards, he talks about people joining with “us”, putting himself as one of the senior figures in bringing this event together.

Now, there is nothing wrong with praying for our country, in fact it is Scriptural, but does Peter Lynas think that fellowshipping with a man who promotes the founder of the Jesuits and has repeatedly engaged with Romanism is going to achieve anything beneficial for Northern Ireland?

Peter Lynas, mind you, doesn’t seem to be too worried about raising a voice against Rome. Instead, he praised professing Christians such as the then Presbyterian Moderator, Rev Charles McMullen, for toddling down to Dublin to cower before the Pope.

With this constant rejection of God’s Word, can there be any excuse for being involved with the Causeway Coast Vineyard Church, or indeed any Vineyard Church, Emmanuel Church in Lurgan or Portadown in County Armagh, or any church which is a member of the Evangelical Alliance?

Scripturally, there is no excuse.

We are told in Ephesians 5:11 that we are to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them”.

Jude v 3 says we are to “earnestly contend for the faith”.

We cannot do that when we are wrapped up in churches who very clearly set themselves up in opposition to the Bible.

Let us not forget, as unfortunately so many in our country seem to have done, that Rome, to this very day, denies the all-sufficient death of Christ at Calvary and pronounces its curse on those who believe that precious doctrine.

Rome teaches of a fictitious holding cell between heaven and hell called Purgatory, it teaches of prayer to Mary and long dead so-called saints, it teaches of the worshipping of idols and images and practises the blatant blasphemy of the Mass, in which they offer Christ up as a sacrifice again and again and again.

All of these teachings are Biblically illiterate and repugnant to the Word of God.

So why do ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas and Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson so willingly and gleefully work alongside them?

Dear reader that is a question we would love you to put to them, particularly if you or some connection of yours is in any way linked to any of the churches they represent, and that includes any whose church is in the Evangelical Alliance. Won’t you even challenge your religious leaders about their involvement in such an organisation, if they are in the Evangelical Alliance, and won’t you even contact these men directly to challenge them on their persistent, repeated unscriptural activities and alliances?

Laugh yourself to heaven at Newtownbreda Baptist Church / Comedy Club

1 Corinthians 1:17-18: “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

In this modernistic, liberal age, many forms of worldly entertainment have been brought in to try to attract a crowd.

These can be quite successful (though that is absolutely no excuse for employing them), as the popularity of churches like the Vineyard and various community / fellowship type churches has proven.

Mostly, it entails the introduction of worldly music with a thin veneer of Christianity from the worship bands.

However, a far more offensive to God form of worldly entertainment was brought into a Baptist church in Belfast on Sunday, 10th February.

For Newtownbreda Baptist Church brought in a stand-up comedian to take their Sunday night service two Lord’s days ago.

Yes, you are reading that correctly, this is not a joke – Newtownbreda Baptist Church became Newtownbreda Comedy Club for the night as a stand-up comic took the platform in this most modern, trendy, hipster of Baptist churches.

Mark Ritchie (pictured on the right of our top image), a Scotsman, apparently blends comedy with a religious message as his routine, which has seen him perform at the well-known Edinburgh Fringe Festival, an annual event for aspiring and established comics alike.

His stand-up tours have taken on frankly blasphemous titles, including “For The Love Of God” and “God Only Knows”.

These are commonly used oaths by the unconverted when expressing exasperation or confusion as they grievously take our precious Saviour’s wonderful name in vain.

Yet here is a man who claims to be proclaiming God’s Word using such blasphemies to make money.

And he is directly disobeying the Third Commandment, which can be found in Exodus 20:7 and says: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”

And here was this man in Newtownbreda Baptist Church being paraded as an admirable and appropriate character to provide spiritual guidance to those in attendance.

This is how Newtownbreda Baptist Church / Newtownbreda Comedy Club promoted the event on facebook: “We have Mark Ritchie coming for a night of community and comedy. We’ll be having @percyscoffeeandfood there and also a free BBQ”.

So it’s a night of community and comedy? No mention of the cross at Calvary? Sure that wouldn’t draw the punters in quite like a few jokes and a cheeseburger.

We have not heard the routine / sermon / message brought by Mark Ritchie to Newtownbreda. Rather oddly, it is the only service held there in months which does not appear to have been uploaded to the church’s website. Why would that be?

However, we have listened to a 35 minute routine by Mark Ritchie at a church in England from two years ago and for that to even be considered a religious sermon is frankly offensive.

A significant length of time goes by before he even mentions the Bible and then he reads a single verse therefrom, before going back to telling his little stories, which had the most tenuous of links to what he was apparently talking about. All of them were uproariously funny though, at least if you listened to the congregation / audience, so that means it’s ok.

Was there mention of how we might be saved? No.

Was there mention of the substitutionary death on the cross by our Lord Jesus Christ? No.

Was there mention of repentance and sorrow over sin? No.

Was there mention of the atoning blood of Jesus which washes away all sin to those who believe on Him? No.

Not much of a message then, was it?

The upshot of the message, as far as we could gather, was that we should engage in a “daring culture”, whatever that’s supposed to mean.

This “daring culture” certainly doesn’t involve over encumbering yourself with knowledge of or serious study of God’s Word, it seems to be more about making bold, impressive sounding, yet meaningless statements.

Certainly, there was some very dubious phraseology employed to, we assume, describe someone becoming a Christian.

He spoke on several occasions of people “making a first time response to Jesus”. What is that supposed to mean? What, then, is a second or third time response to Jesus?

Of course, the terms “getting saved”, “being born again” or “having your sins washed away” are so terribly old fashioned, though increasingly even those terms are being polluted by some churches.

When Mark Ritchie appeared at Newtownbreda Baptist Church two weeks ago, he claimed that “26 people said yes to Jesus”. Newtownbreda Comedy Club repeated that phrase, though they claimed it was 25.

Of course, one might ask, if 25/26 people “said yes to Jesus”, what was the question?

The top of this article shows that God used what the worldly person would consider the “foolishness of preaching” the cross of Christ as his ordained means of sharing the gospel and bringing sinners to repentance.

This point is further demonstrated in Romans 10:13-14, which says: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

The worldly person certainly doesn’t think stand-up comedy is foolishness, that’s why theatres up and down our land are regularly packed out with those wishing to hear the latest comic, most of whom promote the foul and whose language is still fouler.

In what we have heard of Mark Ritchie, there was absolutely NO mention of the cross of Christ, though of course he wasn’t preaching anyway, he was simply bringing the world into the church.

And Newtownbreda Baptist Church invited that man into their church, whose very tour titles take the Lord’s name in vain.

Sadly, this is not the first time we have been forced to highlight this church, which is located in east Belfast.

Only last month we pointed out its membership of the Evangelical Alliance, a grouping headed up by Peter Lynas, who is habitually involved with Romanists and promoting relationships with Rome.

His ecumenical activities are too numerous to reproduce here, but you can click here to get a rundown of his compromise with Rome, which includes praising so-called Protestant ministers and church officers for running down to Dublin to cower before the Pope.

Highlighting this Baptist church, and others, saw us attract great opprobrium but the fact remains Newtownbreda Baptist Church continues to be yoked with a group that includes creation deniers and Jesuit promoters and is evidently more than happy to be so.

Even when this was brought clearly into their view they decided to harden their neck and continue in the same direction.

Indeed, within a matter of weeks of us highlighting this unholy alliance, Newtownbreda Baptist Church had invited ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas down to speak at their Sunday night service, and he also spoke about the document he produced looking at what he suggest be the church’s response to the rising tide of sodomy and transgenderism.

It is called ‘Transformed’ and it is certainly not recommended to any church or Christian, containing as it does the suggestion by Peter Lynas himself that churches provide “trans” accessible toilets in churches.

The document he wrote says that “providing toilets that are clearly accessible to trans people will be an important part of the welcome provided by churches and charities”.

But Newtownbreda Baptist Church, whose pastor is Trevor Ramsey (pictured on the left of our top image), saw fit to invite him down and now they are turning to an easy-believist stand-up comic who is seeking people to “say yes to Jesus” without actually preaching the gospel.

What a cheap gospel is being taught – ‘come on in, grab a hot dog, have a laugh, we’ll give God a brief mention, stick your hand up to say you like Jesus and now you’re on your way to heaven’.

This is outrageous and Newtownbreda Baptist Church / Comedy Club is guilty of encouraging this sort of shallow gospel message.

May God save Ulster from such disrespect for His Word and His House.

Psalm 89:7: “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.”

Rend Collective to perform at ‘Christian’ camp celebrating the Papist Mass

The leading ‘Christian’ rock band Rend Collective (pictured, above) are to take the stage at three allegedly Christian summer camps which will offer the Roman Catholic Mass to those in attendance.

Rend Collective will perform at the Soul Survivor summer camps to be held in Peterborough and Stafford in England in July and August.

In a ‘Leaders Handbook’ provided on the Soul Survivor website, it is stated that, on the final day of the camp, when a Communion service is held, “Catholic Mass is also available”.

Let us not forget what the “Catholic Mass” is.

The Catholic Church catechism says this: “Because it is the memorial of Christ’s Passover, the Eucharist is also a sacrifice. In the Eucharist Christ gives us the very body which he gave up for us on the cross, the very blood which he “poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.””

So they claim the Mass is a sacrifice of Christ, despite the Bible saying the sacrifice at Calvary was once and for all.

Hebrews 10:11-12 says: “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”

They also claim the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, saying that the priest transforms magically the bread and wine to the actual body and blood of Christ.

Apart from the practical aspect of the implications of what it makes a person who eats the body and blood of another, there is also the resolution struck by the early church leaders about the consumption of blood in their correspondence with the Gentiles after disputes sprang up over the implications of the Jewish law for them.

Acts 15:28-29: “For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.”

Blood was never to be consumed, yet here is Rome teaching that its adherents drink the physical blood of Christ.

And this is what Soul Survivor is facilitating at its summer camps.

Soul Survivor is ran by a character who has previously featured on ‘Protestant Revival’, Mike Pilavachi (pictured, below).

We highlighted him at the time he performed, for that is what it was, at Causeway Coast Vineyard Church in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

His then-imminent arrival was greeted with enthusiasm by one of the key figures at Causeway Coast Vineyard, ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, whose tweet celebrating his appearance is pictured below.

And this man who each year, since at least 2016, has facilitated the blasphemous practising of the Mass at the events he runs, is someone who ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas is holding up as a spiritual example to those who attend his church.

Rend Collective, meanwhile, are of course no strangers whatsoever to consorting with Popery.

Indeed, last August, when “that Antichrist”, the Pope, visited Dublin, they were part of the musical entertainment laid on for the Mary worshippers and Pope exalters in attendance, which you can read about by clicking here.

Then a short time later they told a transgender individual on Twitter that they considered it a “sad thing” that certain churches wouldn’t allow them to be a preacher or worship leader.

This transgender individual was challenging them on performing at an event held by Franklin Graham, son of ecumenical evangelist Billy Graham and, to his great credit, a strident opponent of sodomy.

Rend Collective’s response was this: “… in an attempt to foster unity we try not to be selective in who we partner with under the banner of the gospel.”

That lack of selectiveness has been demonstrated yet again for all to see.

Rend Collective have stedfastly refused to abide by the Scriptural command to remain separate from sin (2 Corinthians 6:14-17) and to reprove the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11), even when confronted with their betrayal of God’s Word by this page and others.

Questions also must be asked of the discernment of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas in linking himself to a man who arranges for the central blasphemous act of Romanist worship to be held at the event he runs.

What does Peter Lynas think of the man he supported bringing in to give spiritual direction to the attendees at Causeway Coast Vineyard arranging for Christ to be sacrificed again at the events he hosts?

Does Peter Lynas think the Mass is an authentic, appropriate form of worship?

Will he be happy to welcome Mike Pilavachi back to Causeway Coast Vineyard in future?

What do churches who are members of the Evangelical Alliance, which Peter Lynas runs, think of his association with and support of men who arrange for the Roman Catholic Mass to be held?

There are serious questions, too, for Bangor Elim Church, in County Down, from which Rend Collective were born, as they will have the band back in May to perform at two concerts they are hosting on consecutive nights.

Is Bangor Elim happy for their most famous members to be engaging with events promoting Popery?

They could not but be aware that Rend Collective were part of the musical entertainment for the Pope’s visit to the Republic of Ireland last year, so one must conclude they are happy to be tainted by the blasphemies of the Roman Catholic Church.

What a wretched situation this is on so many levels.

Dear reader, please do not allow yourself to support the compromising ways of Rend Collective, separate yourself from the Evangelical Alliance and all churches within it, thus sending a message to ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, Rend Collective, Bangor Elim, Mike Pilavachi, Soul Survivor and every member of the Evangelical Alliance that you will not be caught up in their rejection of God’s Word.

A stand ought to be taken and indeed a stand must be taken against these characters and their refusal to abide by God’s commands.

Spread the word, share this article widely, shout it out from the rooftops that this religious treachery will not be carried out in your name and, most crucially, it will not be carried out in the precious name of God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit.

Jeremiah 14:14: “Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

Baptist and Congregational churches yoked with creation deniers and Jesuit cheerleaders in ‘Evangelical Alliance’

2 Corinthians 6:14-17: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you”.

A vitally important Biblical principle is that of separation.

However, that principle has been increasingly abandoned throughout professing Christendom and is indeed the subject of mockery from many who would claim to be Christians.

On ‘Protestant Revival’, we repeatedly and unashamedly highlight the absolute necessity for separation from Rome and its manifold blasphemies.

However, it is not just enough to be separate from Rome, we must also be separated from all those who help to propagate error and would deny the Word of God.

We can, as individuals, and as churches, be tied up with that which is dishonouring to God by alliances made within and among churches.

Organisations such as the Irish Council of Churches, which has the Presbyterian Church, Church of Ireland, Methodist Church and Salvation Army, among others, as its members, are such examples.

The Irish Council of Churches is an overtly ecumenical organisation and prides itself on being so.

While such brazen ecumenism is repugnant to the Word of God, it is easily discernible and as such we can be clearly warned of engaging with such organisations.

However, there are other organisations whose ecumenical nature and agenda are much less clear and whose membership comes largely from individual congregations, making it difficult to establish its bona fides.

One of these is the Evangelical Alliance, headed up in Northern Ireland by a man who has come to be known as ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas (pictured, above), a leading figure in the Causeway Coast Vineyard Church.

‘Papist’ Peter is a habitual ecumenist, having praised so-called Protestants for meeting the Pope, eulogised the ecumenical evangelist Billy Graham and endorsed the ecumenical prayer initiative ‘Healing The Land’.

And the former lead pastor of his church, Alan Scott, notoriously said he was “all in” with the Pope.

So this is the man at the head of this supposedly God-honouring organisation.

Any church which is a member of the Evangelical Alliance has made themselves subject to ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas.

Sadly, there is a significant number of churches affiliated formally with the Evangelical Alliance.

There are a number of what might be considered the usual suspects, such as King’s Church in Bangor, County Down, whose pastor Glen Mitchell (pictured, above) has rejected the Biblical account of creation and bemoaned a decision by his local council to block the lighting of a town hall up in support of sodomite ‘Pride’. Sadly, that decision has since been overturned, although Glen Mitchell is yet to comment publicly on the matter, perhaps for fear of it being highlighted on this page once again.

Another member of the Evangelical Alliance which will not surprise any regular readers is Emmanuel Church in the Craigavon area of County Armagh.

So numerous are its flaws and so blasphemous are the actions of its leaders, we won’t go into them all in this article, but the most recent disgraceful developments there include Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson glorifying Jesuit founder and Counter Reformation leader Ignatius of Loyola and another lead pastor, Dave Wylie, describing a Roman Catholic monk as a “hero of church history”.

The fact these two churches, and, needless to say, Causeway Coast Vineyard Church, are members is enough to set alarm bells ringing.

You might say to this so far, ‘well, so what? This is a case of birds of a feather flocking together’.

Indeed, there is some justification in adopting that attitude.

However, there are other churches tied up in this God-defying organisation who casual observers might mistakenly think are ok, not knowing the links they have forged with eager promoters of error such as ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas and Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson.

This includes several Baptist congregations and even one Congregational church in Northern Ireland.

And the Baptist churches we can confirm are members of the ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas headed Evangelical Alliance, according to the Evangelical Alliance’s own website, are Newry Baptist Church, Portstewart Baptist Church, Strandtown Baptist Church, Finaghy Baptist Church and Newtownbreda Baptist Church, the latter three in the Belfast area.

Newtownbreda Baptist Church is interesting as their pastor, Trevor Ramsey (pictured, top), leaped to the defence of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas on our facebook page when we dared to criticise his ungodly supporting of Maghaberry Elim deacon and Ulster Unionist MLA ‘Roman’ Robbie Butler scuttling down to Dublin to do obeisance to “that Antichrist”, the Pope.

Strandtown Baptist Church as well has a lengthy association with the Evangelical Alliance, who in turn appear to have a lengthy association with consorting with Rome.

In a report from the ‘Burning Bush’ website from 2002, it is recorded that a Romanist priest was an invited guest at the installation of a Gordon McDade as the new pastor of Ballynahinch Baptist Church.

Gordon McDade had previously held the role of Associate Pastor of Strandtown Baptist Church and the meeting was closed in prayer by a Stephen Adams, the former Chairman of the Evangelical Alliance.

Perhaps most interesting of all is Portstewart Baptist Church.

This is a church inextricably linked with ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas as he grew up in it and his father, Norman Lynas, founder of the Lynas food company, remains a key figure within it.

While sadly the previous pastor in Portstewart Baptist Church, John Lewis, passed away fairly recently, the fact remains this is a church heavily involved in ecumenism and associating with ecumenists.

Indeed, in the Portstewart Roman Catholic church magazine, called ‘Stella Maris’, a title often used in devotion to Mary, a 2016 edition features a photograph under the headline ‘Interchurch celebration’, of Pastor John Lewis along with the Church of Ireland minister in the town, Rev Stephen Fielding and Portstewart Presbyterian Church minister, Rev Billy Wilson.

Cosy ecumenical relationships all round then, but our focus is on Portstewart Baptist Church and the Evangelical Alliance at present.

A scan of their Facebook page of late will give you a good idea of the nature of Portstewart Baptist Church as well.

Speakers who came along within the last three or four months include the aforementioned advocate of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, Pastor Trevor Ramsey of Newtownbreda Baptist Church, along with another member of that church, its Community Pastor, Tim Robinson.

Gavin and Anne Calver of the Evangelical Alliance have also taken the stage there. That husband and wife pairing will also be performing, sorry, speaking at the ungodly, shameful ‘New Wine’ Conference in Sligo later this year. And the main organiser of the ‘New Wine’ Conference, Rev David McClay (pictured, below) of Willowfield Parish Church in east Belfast, was another guest speaker in Portstewart Baptist Church in the past few months too.

All were, naturally, according to Portstewart Baptist Church’s facebook page, simply wonderful.

The Congregational Church which has formally aligned itself with ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas and his mean ecumenical compromise is Cregagh Congregational, in the east of Belfast.

Both the Baptist and Congregational churches would be considered by many to generally be fairly sound, but this demonstrates clearly that such assumptions are far from safe.

Why are these organisations formally joined with that which is acting contrary to the cause of Christ?

What is their justification for such God-dishonouring conduct?

Pastor Trevor Ramsey of Newtownbreda Baptist Church has already demonstrated his determination to abandon the Word of God when he backed ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas when he supported so-called Protestants running to Dublin to cower before “that man of sin, and son of perdition”, the Pope.

What do members and attendees of Newtownbreda Baptist Church make of such God defiance on behalf of their pastor? Does it sit well with them?

As for the other Baptist churches, in Finaghy, Strandtown, Newry and Portstewart, what do members and attendees there think of their formal alignment with that which is happy to work alongside Popery?

We would strongly encourage, indeed implore, readers to share this article widely so such rejection of a Biblical viewpoint can be challenged and force church leaders to address well founded concerns over their links with an organisation whose leader is habitually engaging in ecumenical conduct and consorting with others who do the same.

In this day of deepening apostasy, we must follow the words of the Apostle Paul and “be not moved away from the hope of the gospel”.

Colossians 1:21-23 says: “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel”.

Ecumenists, hiding under the banner of evangelicals, are moving people away from the hope of the gospel to an ungodly concoction of emotionialism, rock and roll music and wafer thin theology which seeks to please people rather than God.

Don’t allow yourself to be swept away by it and don’t allow churches in your area to get away with it unchallenged.

The people of God ought to be ever ready to follow the words of God spoken through Isaiah: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1).

Let us not be silent when we see and hear the march of the armies of the ecumenical evangelicals, but rather let us cry aloud and challenge them for their ungodly deeds.

Ephesians 5:11: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

True Protestantism is ‘residual bigotry’, says ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas

The leader of the Evangelical Alliance and senior figure in the Causeway Coast Vineyard Church, Peter Lynas, has hit out at anyone who dares to question or highlight his ecumenical cuddling up with Rome.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, a title he has emphatically earned, let loose at any true Protestant when given a forum by the Belfast Telegraph last week.

He branded any who pointed out the error of mixing with the false and blasphemous religion of Romanism as being guilty of demonstrating “residual bigotry” in an interview with the arch-ecumenist Alf McCreary.

In his interview, ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas said in response to a question enquiring as to whether he has ever received any criticism for his faith: “There is also some residual bigotry directed at me for working with the Catholic Church on areas of shared interest. Very few actually want to engage – there is a lot of virtue-signalling, which is a shame.”

Both of the key words he used, “residual bigotry”, are very instructive.

Residual is instructive as it implies that true Protestantism is nothing but a minor legacy of days gone by, and it appears that ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas is more than happy for that to be the case.

Of course, true Protestantism is a diminished force in our land, but it is something to be lamented for and repented of, not to be gloried in.

When Saul departed from the Lord and He rejected him, it was a time of sorrow and was bewailed by the Lord’s servant, in this case Samuel.

1 Samuel 15:10-11: “Then came the word of the Lord unto Samuel, saying, It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night.”

A servant of God should be distressed at apostasy, be it in an individual or a nation, not expressing contempt for what once was.

This is a common theme throughout the books of the prophets as well, no less so than in the case of Jeremiah.

Jeremiah, known often as the wailing prophet, bemoaned the state of religion in the land of Judah throughout his prophecy and sought faithfully to see the people restored to their prior state of godliness.

In pronouncing judgment on the people, God said in Jeremiah 6:16: “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

The old paths, where true Protestantism, which is true Biblical Christianity, predominated in the land, are being consciously rejected, including by the likes of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas.

Has true revival ever been achieved when professing Christians have aligned themselves with Rome? Of course not.

The Roman Catholic Church is a rotten system which leads its poor deluded adherents to a lost eternity in hell by denying the work of the cross by Jesus Christ as being sufficient for salvation.

But ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas is ever keen to mingle seed with the architects of Romish deceit and those who do likewise, while encouraging on others to do the same.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas applauded so-called Protestants who toddled down to Dublin to cower before the leader of that anti-Christian system, the Pope, when he visited the Republic of Ireland in the summer.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas eulogised the ecumenical evangelist Billy Graham when he died, despite Billy Graham instructing poor Roman Catholics concerned for their soul to return to the clutches of Rome and being on friendly terms with successive Popes.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas endorsed the ecumenical ‘Healing the Land’ prayer event at Nutts Corner, which was also backed by at least one Roman Catholic organisation.

And ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas happily retains a close relationship with Alan Scott, former lead pastor of the Causeway Coast Vineyard Church in Coleraine on the north coast of Northern Ireland. This is despite Alan Scott making light of the blasphemy of Mary worship and stating he is “all in” with the Pope.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas ought to be grateful there remains a residue of true Christianity in Northern Ireland, rather than rail against it.

As for the other word, ‘bigotry’, this indicates how low an opinion ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas has of true Christianity.

He despises it and misrepresents it and calls it a false and vexatious name.

This was warned of by Jesus in His Sermon on the Mount when he said in Matthew 5:11: “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”

We are not to be in any way distressed by such lies, but to continue on following and serving God.

Earnest contention for the faith (Jude v 3) and reproving the unlawful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11), such as Romanism, is considered bigotry by ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas.

What a sad state of affairs it is.

We know not who else has spoken out against ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas in his dreadful ecumenical compromise, but it is certain there is a swipe at the witness of ‘Protestant Revival’ within his comment.

Furthermore, we have no doubt he is alluding to the pathetic ‘challenge’ he issued on our facebook page back in September.

We are certainly not interested in playing by his rules and he was confidently able to rest in the knowledge that so long as he sets the boundaries he won’t be forced to give a Scriptural justification for his abandoning of true Christianity.

‘Papist’ Peter Lynas is more than welcome to set out a Scriptural case for his rejection of God’s Word (an oxymoronic position of course, but obviously a leap he has made in his own mind).

However, what we are really concerned about is, as we have sought to do from the start, defending the true gospel and taking a stand against the workers of error.

Compromise and fellowship with Rome is error, pure and simple, regardless of whether you try to claim it is justified because Rome is opposed to abortion or for some other wafer thin reason.

Just because they claim to be under the same generic banner of Christianity, it doesn’t mean Rome is an ally.

Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, made that mistake when he lined himself up with the evil King Ahab, who reigned over Israel.

1 Kings 22:3-4 says: “And the king of Israel said unto his servants, Know ye that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, and we be still, and take it not out of the hand of the king of Syria? And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramoth-gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.”

God’s displeasure can be seen in 2 Chronicles 19:2, which says: “And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the Lord? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord.”

The two kings may have had some things in common, but Ahab was not a servant of God, nor can anyone say that emissaries of Rome are serving God when they deny his wonderful salvation.

And anyone claiming to be serving God is at best sadly misguided in aligning themselves with those who reject Christ, as Jehoshaphat was sadly misguided.

As with Samuel and as with Jeremiah, we lament to see the demise of true Christianity in this country, rather than rejoice in the replacing of it with something displeasing to God and mocking its diminished presence.

Once more, we implore any reader still undecided or indeed still in the camp of the ecumenical charismania movement to “come out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

Rome demonstrates clearly that all that calls itself Christian is not what it claims to be.

Sometimes it is not so obvious, people can say many orthodox sounding things, but ultimately serve to undermine the cause of Christ while claiming to be His representative.

1 John 4:1: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

James 2:19: “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
