Lack of discernment as Protestant churches join in ‘Irish Blessing’ recording organised by Jesuit priest

1 John 4:1: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Ecumenists and diluters and compromisers of God’s Word and true Christianity seek to employ any means by which they can advance their ungodly cause.

The Protestant people of Ulster ought to know this more than anyone, given how wretched clerics, both allegedly Protestant and Romanist, used the murder campaign of the Romanist thug agents of the devil of the IRA to seek to foster a sham “unity”.

We are expected to follow it to this day and the words “cross-community” being applied to any event or grouping are expected to be greeted with almost reverential awe and nods of approval to indicate how worthy and wonderful such a thing is.

It is very troubling when such things are transplanted into the spiritual realm and such an occasion has arisen courtesy of the coronavirus pandemic.

Brazenly using the deaths of thousands between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to advance their mean gospel of ecumenical compromise, a Jesuit priest and Church of Ireland ordinand have joined forces to promote a recording of what they are calling ‘The Irish Blessing’.

‘Father’ Martin Magill (pictured, top) of St John the Evangelist Papist chapel in Belfast is the Romanist Jesuit priest who is co-organising the initiative alongside Philip McKinley, a Dublin based Church of Ireland ordinand.

‘Father’ Martin Magill is, alongside Rev Steve Stockman of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast, joint organiser of the annual ecumenical talking shop known as the Four Corners Festival. He was also the much-lauded (by other ecumenicals, be they political or religious ecumenicals) speaker at the bizarre funeral of journalist Lyra McKee, accidentally shot by a dissident republican while reporting from a republican riot in Londonderry but who somehow became some sort of LGBT martyr.

According to their website: “The Irish Blessing is an initiative for Christian people from all of the Irish Churches to join together seeking God’s blessing on the people of Ireland and to join our voices in praise of God on Pentecost Sunday. This unprecedented pandemic requires a collective response from Irish Churches”.

So the answer to a pandemic is religious compromise and ecumenical wickedness, apparently.

Further stressing their desire for an ecumenical party, they say: “We want all churches to know that they are included in this initiative. We want to encourage the widest possible participation, denominationally, geographically and also in terms of backgrounds of age, ethnicity and abilities, all representing the richness of an Irish Blessing and the spirit of Pentecost.”

The “widest possible” denominational participation is sought, leaving no room for discernment or separation.

The initiative takes the form of a recording of people from various churches and faith groups singing the hymn, ‘Be Thou My Vision’. The numerous people involved record themselves singing the hymn and then those behind it splice the various clips together to create one video.

Of course there is nothing wrong with the hymn they have chosen, but the message behind what is being done and the architect of it is not so admirable.

The message behind this video is the idea of fostering ecumenical unity, using the Covid-19 pandemic as a cover for it. Everybody is grateful for the efforts of frontline workers at this time so how could anyone speak out against it, eh? Any dissent can easily be framed as unreasonable.

Well, sadly, a voice ought to be raised at this latest clever trick to pollute true Godly worship.

A vast list of a few hundred churches heeded the ungodly call for ecumenical unity to join in on this scheme.

Did all these churches who signed up to it understand the nature of what they were backing and who they had joined forces with? Possibly not, but at best these churches are guilty of carelessness and a lack of discernment as to whom they join under the banner of Christianity with.

Sadly, a number of churches from denominations which might be considered better than involving themselves with such ecumenical compromise have given their name to this.

This includes numerous Baptist churches as well as a couple of Congregational churches.

The Baptist churches which are listed by The Irish Blessing’s own website as contributors are Antrim Baptist Church, Greenisland Baptist Church, Holywood Baptist Church, Newtownbreda Baptist Church, Portstewart Baptist Church, Strandtown Baptist Church and Windsor Baptist Church, the latter two both based in Belfast.

Interestingly, the latter four are also 80% of the quintet of Baptist churches who are members of the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland, which, until his promotion to Director of the Evangelical Alliance UK wide, was led by determined ecumenist ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas. The Evangelical Alliance also contains numerous very questionable members, so carelessness in who one fellowships with or joins under a banner with is a recurring feature for them.

The Congregational churches involved in this are listed as being Ballycraigy Congregational Church in Newtownabbey and Straid Congregational Church, near Ballyclare in County Antrim.

It is very concerning to see such churches aligning themselves with a religious project ran by a Jesuit priest.

Among the other churches involved are a number of what might justifiably be called the “usual suspects”.

This includes Newtownbreda Baptist Church’s ecumenical chums in the south and east Belfast areas, CFC Belfast and Willowfield Parish Church, as well as Emmanuel Church in Portadown, County Armagh, ran by Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson, Causeway Coast Vineyard in Coleraine on the north coast of Northern Ireland, the welcomers of heretics who are happy to be “all in” with the Pope and Belfast’s Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, led by the man who preaches the gospel according to Lady Gaga, Rev Steve Stockman.

Papist Stations of the Cross promoters Redeemer Central, another Belfast gathering, are also involved, as are the Methodist Church’s East Belfast Mission, happy promoters of mean compromise with Rome.

Of course, a host of Romanist chapels, where blasphemies and lies are taught and practised every single day, are involved in this, including Clonard Monastery, a leading hub of Papist deceit in Ulster and other Romanist churches unambiguously devoted to deceit such as the Church of Mary in Saintfield in County Down or the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish of Carryduff and Drumbo, also in County Down.

You can see the full list, ordered alphabetically, by clicking on this link.

Dear reader, just because the cause appears to be a worthy one, it does not mean we are to compromise ourselves or “let things slide” just to be associated with something considered by the world to be praiseworthy.

We are to try the spirits and assess that which we are considering forging an alliance with before committing ourselves to something which would hinder our progress.

Look even at the children of Israel under Joshua’s guidance when approached by the Gibeonites, who were located close to where the Israelites had at this stage reached, but claimed to be from a faraway land.

Joshua 9:3-6, 8-13: “And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai, They did work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy. And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make ye a league with us. And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the Lord thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt, And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth. Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us. This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy: And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.”

The Gibeonites were very plausible, were they not? A lot of effort had gone into looking plausible, and would it not have been unreasonable for the children of Israel to send them packing?

Well, of course, we know the truth about the Gibeonites and we can very easily know the truth about the Church of Rome and about various religious initiatives if we but ask the Lord.

We can make sensible, practical enquiries about a church or initiative to see who is behind it or who has signed up to it. We can of course, indeed ought to pray to seek God’s will in a certain situation or matter. We can also consult His Word to put that which is before us in the light of Scripture.

We have no excuse not to do just that and likewise the children of Israel, Joshua and his elders.

Yet they were careless.

Joshua 9:14-15: “And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord. And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.”

We are told “they asked not counsel at the mouth of the Lord”.

Had counsel been genuinely sought at the mouth of the Lord and a proper answer waited for, then surely these churches would have baulked at chipping in with a scheme supported and organised by the blasphemous Church of Rome.

Reader, we need to carefully guard our separation and those whom we align ourselves with, especially when we claim to do it in the name of the Saviour.

Let us ever be vigilant and examine that which we are presented with, rather than swallow it without question or further enquiry.

Ignatius of Loyola fanboy Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson calls Jesuit priest a ‘wonderful man’

2 Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

If, for some reason, anybody needed further evidence that Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson, lead pastor of the Emmanuel Church in the Lurgan and Portadown areas of County Armagh, was a Romish compromiser, he has stepped up to the plate once again to show his God-defiance.

Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson has declared a notable Jesuit priest from Belfast to be a “wonderful man of peace”.

‘Father’ Martin Magill has studiously carved out a niche for himself as a bit of a celebrity priest in Northern Ireland and relished his moment in the limelight last year as he pontificated from the pulpit of St Anne’s Cathedral (still, ostensibly a Protestant church) at the funeral of the, until then, utterly unknown Belfast journalist Lyra McKee, who suddenly, we were told, was actually the best up and coming journalist known to man.

She had been struck by a bullet while reporting from the scene of Irish republican rioting in Londonderry, one of the Romanist thugs striking her with one of their shots, intended for police officers.

An open lesbian, she had sought to use the Bible to justify the sodomite movement and her funeral was a very peculiar affair, bizarrely bordering on the lines of a state occasion as ecumenists and LGBT activists sought to hijack the event to advance their own nefarious causes.

One would have thought she had been shot by that republican because she was a lesbian, given the coverage which followed, as her “girlfriend” and various groups and individuals called for sodomite marriage to be introduced in Northern Ireland (still illegal at that point) as a tribute to her as efforts were made to make her some sort of sodomite martyr.

‘Father’ Martin Magill, who runs the wretched quasi-religious, quasi-political Four Corners Festival each year in Belfast alongside Presbyterian minister Rev Steve Stockman (the man who preaches the gospel according to the utterly ungodly Lady Gaga but hates the preaching of the true gospel of Jesus Christ), spied his chance to get on his ecumenical soapbox and was the preacher at the funeral.

He delivered what was lauded by the ungodly world, and plenty of ungodly ‘preachers’ as a wonderful display of “speaking truth to power” and other such self-important claptrap.

The upshot of his self-indulgent rantings was that it was absolutely critical that the Northern Ireland Assembly, pulled down by the murderers and murderer supporters of Sinn Fein in a huff, get back up and running as part of the pathetic narrative that religious and political ecumenists peddle, which is that blood will flow on the streets unless the poor little republicans are given what they want.

‘Father’ Martin Magill successfully used the occasion to firmly establish himself as the leading ecumenical practitioner of Papal priestcraft in Ulster and will dine out off it for the rest of his days.

Many God-defying pastors were falling over themselves to fawn over ‘Father’ Martin Magill, who is a Jesuit priest, that evil order set up specifically by Rome to counteract the glorious Protestant Reformation.

One such character, unsurprisingly, was Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson, and he was at it again at the start of last week to eulogise a man who has dedicated his life to propagating a false gospel of salvation by sacramental merit.

‘Father’ Martin Magill had originally posted a tweet in which he was promoting what has been called ‘The Irish Blessing’, an ecumenical recording of the hymn ‘Be Thou My Vision’ to apparently show support for healthcare workers during this Covid-19 pandemic, which was jointly organised by ‘Father’ Martin Magill and a Church of Ireland trainee minister called Philip McKinley. This is something we plan to look at in greater depth in a future post, God willing.

Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson then responded by saying: “Well done Fr Martin – what a wonderful man of peace in this land you are. Thank you!”

So there you have it – a Jesuit priest, a man who blasphemes Christ every day, is a “wonderful man” according to Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson.

This “wonderful man” claims to offer Christ up as a sacrifice day after day, this “wonderful man” promotes Mary worship, this “wonderful man” proclaims the lie of purgatory and this “wonderful man” exalts the Pope, who blasphemes God through the various titles he takes upon himself.

Not so wonderful really, when put in the light of Scripture.

We are told the sacrifice of Christ was once for all.

Hebrews 9:24-26 states this clearly. It says: “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

We are told Mary is a sinner, albeit a saved sinner, not some semi deity. In fact Mary says it of herself that she was in need of a Saviour.

Luke 1:46-47 says: “And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”

Yet ‘Father’ Martin Magill and his church teaches to this day the lies of the mass and of worshipping Mary.

Of course, it should be little surprise to anyone that Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson would take such a stance.

He is, after all, the great Jesuit glorifier and fanboy of that most evil man, Ignatius of Loyola.

Lest anyone should forget, Ignatius of Loyola was the founder of the Jesuits, which led the charge against the Reformation and which led the centuries long murderous, barbarous Inquisition, with the backing of the Papacy.

God’s Word tells us that to hate evil is a sign of being His child, and there can be few more evil men guilty of more evil action than Ignatius of Loyola.

Psalm 97:10 says: “Ye that love the LORD, hate evil”.

And in October 2018, Alain Emerson proved he does not hate evil as he glorified that evil man, disgracefully promoting this devoted adherent to the lies of Rome to his congregation in the Emmanuel Church. Indeed, he taught those in attendance to follow the spiritual practices of that evil Mary worshipper.

You can read significant, disgraceful excerpts of his appalling deceit by reading the article we penned at the time, which you can access easily by clicking here.

Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson appears to be somewhat enamoured of the Romanist Jesuit order and has an affinity for sharing quotes from such on Twitter, such as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and, just last Friday, the Jesuit trained priest Henri Nouwen, a favourite of lots of ecumenical charismatics.

Alain ‘Ecumenical’ Emerson is held up as one of the leading lights in the modern charismatic church in Northern Ireland, he runs the 24-7 Prayer Ireland group, is invited to speak (at least in pre-lockdown times) at various other charismatic groups and has close links with ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas, a senior figure at Causeway Coast Vineyard, former leader of the Evangelical Alliance in Northern Ireland and now leader of the Evangelical Alliance in the UK as a whole.

He has a certain amount of influence and is, by his actions, normalising ecumenism in the eyes of those who attend his churches and emboldening others to do the same.

Let us take a stand against such mean compromise and continue to speak out and warn others of the treacherous deceit of the gospel being carried out by men who claim to be serving God.

Isaiah 29:13: “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men”.

Isaiah 58:1: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

Degrees from Rome, ashes from priests and Corrymeela’s sodomite celebration – yet more rebellion against God

Psalm 12:8: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.”

This post is a slightly unusual one as we intend to cover a few matters at once.

We have been struggling to find the time to keep the pieces coming regularly of late, though maybe the government ordered lockdown might help with that!

We plan to cover a little ground here with regards events or news items we maybe didn’t notice at the time or just didn’t get round to highlighting.

Corrymeela hosts conference for LGBT affirming faith groups and leaders

If anyone were in any doubt of the wretched nature of the God-defying Corrymeela Community, the title above would surely be enough to copper fasten such an impression.

Corrymeela has long been a hub of ecumenical deceit, but over the past decade or so it has very clearly added its endorsement of the God hating LGBT lobby to its inglorious CV.

That process would certainly have accelerated during the period when its leader, handsomely remunerated at £50,000, was open sodomite Padraig O’Tuama.

However, given this was the eighth annual holding of this event, the first one must have been held in 2013, a year before Padraig O’Tuama became leader.

The conference, held back in January is entitled ‘Blessed are the Brave’, although what is brave about open defiance of God is hard to fathom.

A description Corrymeela have made of their event in the form of a Q&A says this:

“‘LGBT affirming Faith leaders’ – what’s that?

“This retreat is for Christian faith leaders who believe that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people should rightly enjoy full membership and leadership in all aspects of society.

“We chose the term ‘faith leader’ because it is a broad term – you might lead a congregation, lead a small group, be involved as a chaplain, have faith responsibilities in your work, or be a part of a group of another group of faith-oriented people. Upon application we will ask you to outline your faith involvement.

“Is it a weekend to discuss if the bible affirms LGBT people?

“Blessed are the brave weekends are for people who read the bible in a way that affirms the lives, stories and gifts of LGBT people in faith and society.”

So there you have it, this is for people who choose to twist Scripture into something unrecognisable from reality to suit their ungodly beliefs.

It is also interesting that they choose to capitalise the words “lesbian”, “gay”, “bisexual” and “transgender” (you will notice that we most certainly haven’t) but deliberately, twice in the small excerpt we have quoted above, refused to use a capital ‘B’ for the Bible.

This shows what they think is more important, the God accursed sodomite movement.

Jude 1:7 reminds us of this when it says: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Eternal fire awaits those within the sodomite movement and Corrymeela seeks to put a religious gloss on this awful truth to pretend it is not the case.

Everyone who organised this conference is guilty of the blood of sodomites and their so-called “allies” and so are the self-proclaimed “faith leaders” who were in attendance.

The title “faith leader” would carry a strong suggestion they have some form of spiritual oversight of others, making them just as guilty as the wicked minds behind this conference.

The current leader of the Corrymeela Community is an ordained Presbyterian minister, Rev Alex Wimberly (pictured, top).

Has the Presbyterian Church moved to remove him as a minister, thus depriving him of his ‘Reverend’ title? What do you think?

The sorry stink arising from that apostate denomination grows ever stronger and more putrid.

Presbyterian ministers to get their degree from Rome

Speaking of the Presbyterian Church, it has decided the best way forward is to move from cuddling up to Rome to officially becoming its subservient little lap dog.

After its training ground for ministers, Union Theological College (UTC), fell foul of the thought police at Queen’s University because the church moved ever so tepidly against the sodomite movement and saw their undergraduate courses ditched by Queen’s, the Presbyterian Church has been scratching around to find an alternative.

And now it thinks it has its solution – a link up with probably the most famous Romanist university in the United Kingdom, St Mary’s in Twickenham in London.

Under the planned arrangement, St Mary’s University would “validate” undergraduate degrees offered by UTC.

So trainee ministers will not be able to attain their degree without getting the seal of approval from an educational establishment set up to promote Popery.

What a sorry indication of the state of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

For the sake of a letter or two after their ministers’ names, the largest allegedly Protestant church on this island will go cap in hand to Rome.

There will be no following of Ephesians 5:11 in this instance.

It says: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

It is certainly hard to imagine a Romanist university taking too kindly to a Presbyterian minister reproving the unfruitful works of darkness which make up Rome (though it is also hard to imagine any of them doing it too volubly) when they are tied to them for their qualification.

Yet more compromise is not the answer to the Presbyterian Church’s problems.

Presbyterian minister takes ashes from Papal priest at ecumenical Ash Wednesday service

Here we have yet more wretched compromise from the Presbyterian Church with Rome.

On Ash Wednesday, a day traditionally only celebrated by Papists to mark the first day of Lent, retired Presbyterian minister Rev Ken Newell (pictured, above) continued the pattern of a lifetime by ignoring the Bible and his Protestant heritage by cuddling up with Rome.

Rev Ken Newell, along with ‘Rev’ Elizabeth Hanna, a retired Church of Ireland ‘minister’ and Rev Robin Waugh, the Methodist minister at Sydenham in East Belfast, attended the service at St Mary’s Roman Catholic chapel in Belfast.

Indeed, Rev Ken Newell delivered the sermon at this service, led by Papist priest ‘Father’ Tim Bartlett, with leading ecumenical priest ‘Father’ Martin Magill applying the ashes to the three God-defying ‘Protestant’ ministers’ foreheads.

‘Rev’ Hanna said: “I thoroughly enjoyed being here, and history has been made. It was great being a part of it.”

Rev Ken Newell said: “This will be a symbolic service of healing and reconciliation, of togetherness and not of division. It is another opportunity for the churches to walk side by side, and to move on towards a better future for everyone.”

Rev Ken Newell is a very prominent part of the ecumenical movement, his Romish compromise over many years at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast now being carried on by Rev Steve Stockman, who runs the wretched Four Corners festival each year alongside the aforementioned ‘Father’ Martin Magill.

Rev Robin Waugh (pictured, below) seems to make a habit of ecumenical actions, blasphemously being the speaker at a novena mass at Clonard Monastery in west Belfast as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity back in January 2018.

And ‘Rev’ Elizabeth Hanna is on record as being highly critical of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland distancing itself from the Church of Scotland over the latter’s support for sodomite marriage.

So there is a clear pattern of abandonment of the Word of God here with all three.

Jude v 3 reminds us that “ye should earnestly contend for the faith”.

Such a notion is these days, in many quarters, considered to be evidence of an absence of Christianity when it is the very opposite.

Let us not be fooled by these “certain men (and some women) crept in unawares” who serve to deny the “only Lord God” with their actions.

Rather, let us test the spirits, use spiritual discernment and shun those who serve to dishonor the cause of Christ, be it by endorsement of the sodomite movement, compromise with Rome or any other way.

2 Corinthians 6:17-18: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Presbyterian church promotes ‘the gospel according to Lady Gaga’

Psalm 12:8: “The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.”

There have been a few occasions when writing articles for ‘Protestant Revival’ that we have been scarcely able to believe the headline going above it, such has been the mindboggling nature of what is being carried out in God’s name.

This is one such occasion.

Fitzroy Presbyterian Church, on Sunday night past, held their evening service on the subject, ‘The gospel according to female pop stars’.

Among the singers whose ungodly musical compositions were being performed was Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Jessie J.

Rev Steve Stockman (pictured, top) is the minister of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast and he is a noted ecumenist.

He runs the ungodly Four Corners Festival each year in Belfast alongside a Jesuit priest, ‘Father’ Martin Magill, and is a proud Romish compromiser, having taken over that mantle occupied by the previous minister there, the Rome-loving Ken Newell, whose God-defiance you can get a flavour of by clicking here.

Writing on his blog about this service, Rev Steve Stockman says: “Sunday night’s Gospel According To… in Fitzroy is a landmark edition!

“For ten years we have been doing U2 (a lot of U2), Springsteen, Dylan, Cohen, Morrison, Mitchell et al. Of course we have also done Les Miserables and The West End and a Family series that included Harry Potter, Narnia, Nemo and the Lion King.

“But… the music has not been too young! So, The Gospel According To… Female Pop Stars is brand new territory, hopefully bringing the average age of the attendance down! However, if you are an old fogey cynic this one might be more vital for you than any that we have done. Learn about the generation that took over from you a while back!

“Even more exciting is that this is a youth, more edgy edition, curated and performed by a younger edgier collaborative. Hear younger voices sing younger songs!

“Come on down. It’ll help you look at identity, the pressures of a youth culture and how God’s good grace speaks into the yearnings of a generation. Expect Gaga, Perry and Jesse J (sic) among other writers covered!”

So there you have it, Rev Steve Stockman rather succinctly rhymes off why his church should have been studiously avoided for the past 10 years and then demonstrates why, if anything, it is only getting worse.

The specific pop ‘stars’ he is referring to are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Jessie J, though Rev Steve Stockman spelled it incorrectly above.

It is a sign of a wicked age when evil people are lifted up as being noble and worthy of admiration and emulation.

That is the theme of the verse at the top of this article, though in this case we are speaking of women, rather than men.

Lady Gaga is a particularly repellent public figure and is known for her vocal and persistent support for the LGBT agenda.

Wikipedia says she is a bisexual and “actively supports LGBT rights worldwide” and has been named by ‘The Advocate’, a sodomite publication in the USA, as a “fierce advocate” for “gays and lesbians”.

One of her most famous songs, ‘Born This Way’, is considered an LGBT anthem and, upon reading the lyrics, it is easy to see why.

Here are some of the lines from the song:

“No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track baby
I was born to survive

I’m beautiful in my way
‘Cause God makes no mistakes
I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way”

Is this the sort of message or messenger you would want promoted in a church, or, indeed, anywhere?

The only line above with which you could agree is that “God makes no mistakes”, but Lady Gaga is using this as a way to endorse the lifestyle choices of homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender people and any other perversion of God’s will you could think of, by claiming God creates people to be like this.

What a foul blasphemy.

Another blasphemous reference in this song is when she sings “a different lover is not a sin, believe capital H-I-M”, a clear reference to God, claiming God has said it is the case that you can be the “lover” of whomever you choose.

She also repeats the line on several occasions, “don’t be a drag, just be a queen”, making reference to another sinful perversion being flaunted in our faces in this sinful day, that of drag queens (though the DUP’s Paula Bradley seems content with such filthiness).

Lest there remain any lingering doubt over the message or motivations behind this song, this is what Lady Gaga said herself about it in an interview quoted on her Wikipedia page.

“I want to write my this-is-who-the-f***-I-am anthem, but I don’t want it to be hidden in poetic wizardry and metaphors. I want it to be an attack, an assault on the issue because I think, especially in today’s music, everything gets kind of washy sometimes and the message gets hidden in the lyrical play.

“Hearkening back to the early ’90s, when Madonna, En Vogue, Whitney Houston and TLC were making very empowering music for women and the gay community and all kind of disenfranchised communities, the lyrics and the melodies were very poignant and very gospel and very spiritual and I said, ‘That’s the kind of record I need to make. That’s the record that’s going to shake up the industry’.”

Pretty unambiguous, isn’t it?

She said she didn’t want to “hide behind poetic wizardry and metaphors” but rather wanted to “attack” and “assault” and didn’t want her “message” to get “hidden in the lyrical play”.

So this is a naked, brazen attack on Christianity, the Bible, morality and decency.

Then, referring to music produced by other singers in the 1990s, she has the outright cheek to say pro-sodomy music was “very gospel and very spiritual”.

Make no mistake, this is a woman who is at the vanguard of the rage against God and she is influencing who knows how many millions to join her.

This is a woman doing the devil’s work very effectively, and on a large scale, yet Rev Steve Stockman of Fitzroy Presbyterian Church is parading her music at his Sunday evening service, a meeting which in many churches, including his denomination, historically has an especially strong focus on preaching the gospel of Jesus dying on the cross and shedding His blood that we might be saved if we place our faith and trust in Him and pray for forgiveness of sins.

To trade in such a service for one exalting one of the most famous LGBT campaigners in the world is especially repugnant.

As for the other two names mentioned, both Katy Perry and Jessie J are dreadfully inappropriate examples to encourage others to follow.

Again according to Wikipedia, Jessie J was a bisexual and told a radio show in 2011: “I’ve never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I’ve dated girls and I’ve dated boys – get over it.”

That is not the type of dismissive language she will use when she stands before God to account for her sins, if she fails to repent and come to Him for salvation.

Romans 14:11-12: “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Her Wikipedia page then states that “in April 2014, Jessie J renounced her bisexuality, stating, ‘For me, it was a phase. But I’m not saying bisexuality is a phase for everybody’.”

What it is in fact, is a perversion of God’s will for His creation, as Jesus Himself attested in Matthew 19:4-5 which says: “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

As for Katy Perry, she is another fierce advocate of so-called LGBT “rights”.

Once more from Wikipedia, we are told that “Perry has publicly advocated for LGBT rights”.

It also states that “in December 2012, Perry was awarded the Trevor Hero Award by The Trevor Project for her work and activism on behalf of LGBT youth. On March 18, 2017, she received a Nation Equality Award from Human Rights Campaign for ‘using her powerful voice and international platform to speak out for LGBTQ equality’.”

And so it continues on her page with more instances of her avowed support for that which God has called an “abomination” and “against nature”.

How can anyone recommend these individuals to their church’s followers and support the performing of their music in a church service?

The very thought would be laughable, were it not so serious.

This is but a foretaste of that which Paul speaks of in 2 Thessalonians 2 when he speaks of the end of this age.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12: “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

There is surely a strong delusion at large among so much of what professes to be of God, but it will be shown to nothing more than “deceivableness of unrighteousness”.

What a sad day it is in which we live where the musical compositions of those who have set themselves against God is held up as something to be admired in a service which is supposedly bringing glory to God’s name.

When we see such wickedness all around us, let us take comfort in Christ and pray to God that He might work in the hearts of those who are propagating such vileness and those who are taken in by it.

May we desire even to see the promise of God in the valley of the dry bones be replicated in the lives of those who are doing damage to the cause of Christ in our land.

Ezekiel 36:26-28: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

East Belfast Mission facilitates ecumenical festival headlined by Jesuit priest

2 John 1:9-11: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

The ungodly, ecumenical quasi political, quasi religious event that is the Four Corners Festival took place in the opening part of February, with lots of ever so worthy events taking place, organised by lots of ever so worthy people.

Chief among these events and people was the keynote visit of a Jesuit priest, called ‘Father’ Gregory Boyle, to speak at the Skainos Centre on the Newtownards Road in the overwhelmingly Protestant east Belfast area.

Indeed, that geographical area also gives its name to the organisation which owns the Skainos Centre – the East Belfast Mission (EBM).

Readers of ‘Protestant Revival’ may well be familiar with the East Belfast Mission as we highlighted this grouping, itself an offshoot of the Methodist Church, very recently.

One of its key figures is Rev Andrew Irvine, who outrageously addressed a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity service in a Romanist chapel in Lurgan, County Armagh back in January.

This is a quote from Skainos’ own website, which says: “Skainos gathers under one roof all aspects of the work undertaken by EBM including homelessness services, employability, social economy projects, youth work, family work, community development and peace building as well as a vibrant worshipping community.”

So we have confirmation that Skainos is an East Belfast Mission ran centre.

And this means that the Skainos Centre, and therefore the East Belfast Mission and Methodist Church, is complicit in not only hosting an ungodly ecumenical event, but one at which a Jesuit priest was the star attraction.

Let us not forget who the Jesuits are.

They are the Romanist order set up in response to the Protestant Reformation, with the sole purpose of reaffirming the supremacy of the Papacy in suppressing the rise of Protestantism, and that by any means necessary.

Untold millions of Christians, Muslims and Jews were killed throughout the centuries long Inquisition led by this Romanist order.

This is an organisation whose founding aim was the snuffing out of the gospel light so gloriously unveiled and spread abroad by God through the likes of Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Knox.

Yet here we have the East Belfast Mission facilitating a representative of this wretched order, officially called the ‘Society of Jesus’ (look out for the initials SJ after a priests’ name to indicate one), spreading his deceits. The current Pope, in fact, is a Jesuit.

What a wretched situation this is.

Sadly, this is far from the first instance of the promotion of Jesuits and Jesuitry we have highlighted on this page.

Last February, we featured a God-defying Lenten prayer service in St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast, always a hub of ecumenical folly, at which Jesuit priest ‘Father’ Tom Leyden was the speaker. The prayer service was held in the Ignatian tradition, referring to Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, which you can read about by clicking here.

And in November, we brought to light the absolutely disgraceful promotion and glorification of Ignatius of Loyola by Emmanuel Church leader Alain Emerson. You can read his truly heretical comments by clicking here.

Now here we have again more people who would claim to be servants of God allowing Jesuits into their premises to propagate their lies.

In addition to Rev Andrew Irvine, another prominent minister who is responsible for what goes on at Skainos is Rev Brian Anderson (pictured, top).

He is currently the President of the Irish Council of Churches, which gives you a clear indication of his ecumenical stance.

Both Rev Brian Anderson and Rev Andrew Irvine are culpable in allowing this proponent of Rome’s deceptions to take the stage in the building belonging to the East Belfast Mission.

Rev Brian Anderson is the Superintendent of the East Belfast Mission and Rev Andrew Irvine (pictured, below) is the Chief Executive.

Why do they allow a Jesuit priest to have a platform in their building?

Why do they allow such a God-dishonouring spectacle as the Four Corners Festival to be held in their building?

Do they believe the Roman Catholic Church leads people to salvation?

Do they believe there is merit in the Romanist teachings of prayer to Mary and long-dead so-called ‘Saints’? Or the fictitious venue of purgatory? Or the Mass? Or Rome’s outright denial of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone?

What do they actually believe?

To allow your premises to be used for the promotion of ecumenism and especially for a meeting pandering to a Jesuit, is a violation of God’s command to “be ye separate” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

And to reject God’s Word and disobey His commands is a foolish and dangerous thing.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 highlights this. It says: “Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

There can be no doubt this is a diminishing of God’s commandment which God in this passage advises them to follow, “that ye might live”.

Death follows the rejection of God’s commandments.

This is a battle we must all wage in our own lives, to remain in obedience to God.

Further down the same chapter in Deuteronomy 4:9 we are told: “Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons”.

Let us be determined not to throw off the commandments of God.

Sadly, this is what has happened in much of the professing church of Christ in the past century. Sons and sons’ sons have not been instructed as they ought to have been, making way for all manner of Christ rejection to be front and centre of so many churches.

And this attitude of disobedience has created the sorry state in religious affairs which allows the like of a Jesuit priest to be welcomed in with open arms by two of the most senior figures of the Methodist Church to an event organised by a Presbyterian minister.

We as true believers are partly responsible for allowing these who bring dishonour to the name of Christ to engage in their wicked acts.

Have we been active enough in our opposition to these individuals?

Have we just tutted about it privately to those we know are in agreement with us?

Have we just turned our heads the other way so as not to look upon what is being done by those children of disobedience?

As the people of God, we need to “earnestly contend for the faith” in any which way we can and send a message out loud and clear to the compromiser, ecumenist and apostate that we will not sit back and allow them to drag our land down with their rejection of the true gospel of Christ and drag poor, blinded sinners to hell by refusing to “declare all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).

Let us be bold like Elijah who, when faced by that old reprobate Ahab, who had the cheek to accuse God’s servant of being a troublemaker, straightly told Ahab the right way of things.

1 Kings 18:17-18: “And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.”

Elijah told Ahab that his rejection of God had brought the trouble upon Israel and it is Ulster’s deepening apostasy, led by the architects of ecumenical deceit in our land, which has brought such trouble to our doorstep.

We have had plenty of warnings, but still the people of God slumber in failing to speak against it as they should.

Isaiah 9:13-16: “For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the Lord of hosts. Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

We can bemoan sin but do nothing about it. This was the stance of Eli when confronted with the wickedness of his sons, Hophni and Phinehas.

1 Samuel 2:23-24: “And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the Lord’s people to transgress.”

That was as far as Eli went, he took no action against them and he was punished.

1 Samuel 2:29-30, 34-35 says: “Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.”

Let us not be afraid to take our stand in this day of apostasy, and let us openly challenge any who would seek to denigrate the cause of Christ, whether they come in grand clerical garb, carry the prefix ‘Rev’ to their name or claim to be acting for God when it is obvious they are doing no such thing.

Even as the words of verse 30 of 1 Samuel 2 tell us, “them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed”.
