Ephesians 5:11: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
The great ecumenical lie and deceit continues to be a blight on the religious landscape of Ulster as so many church leaders refuse to be separated from falsehood.
Indeed, more than refusing to be separated from falsehood, they enthusiastically support associating with it and encourage others to do so too.
And that is exactly what is happening at the allegedly evangelical Crown Jesus Ministries in Belfast.
Led by the self-proclaimed evangelist, known only by the matey moniker of Mitch, Crown Jesus Ministries is very much an example of a common or garden variety shallow charismatic fellowship, where posting inspirational quotes online and raising your hands in the air to a ‘Christian’ rock track are the acid tests of godliness.
Don’t worry about whether your practices tally up with Scripture, that is dreadfully old-fashioned and, gasp, judgmental.
Concerns over following the Bible safely discarded (for now, Ecclesiastes 8:11-13), Mitch of Crown Jesus Ministries is proudly trumpeting an event his church will be hosting this Monday afternoon, from 2-4pm.
He will be bringing in to his church, and recommending him as someone admirable and worthy of emulation, a man called Ron Huntley (pictured, below) of Divine Renovation Ministry.
Probably one of your first questions when you hear these names is, what is Divine Renovation Ministry?
Well, this is how they describe themselves on their own website.
They say: “Divine Renovation was birthed out of a real experience of renewal. Fr. James Mallon along with the team at Saint Benedict Parish in Halifax, Canada transformed their parish into a vibrant community of missionary disciples.”
And how do they do this?
“We believe that there are three keys to parish renewal: the primacy of evangelization, the best of leadership principles, and the power of the Holy Spirit held together by the celebration of the Eucharist.”
So it is a Romanist movement aimed at freshening up the age profile of the Roman Catholic Church.
And one of the keys, as they see it, is to see the “power of the Holy Spirit held together by the celebration of the Eucharist”.
The Roman Catholic Eucharist, or the Mass, is a blasphemy.
Rome claims, each time they hold the Mass, they are sacrificing Christ again and again and again and that the bread and wine literally becomes the body and blood of Christ.
Leaving aside what it makes us if we eat the body and blood of another, this is simply a perversion of what the Scripture teaches.
We are told in no uncertain terms that Christ’s sacrifice was once for sin for ever. There is no repeat, no continuation, it has been done.
Hebrews 10:10-14: “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
There you go – we are “sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”, Christ “offered one sacrifice for sins for ever” and “by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified”.
This is crystal clear stuff.
Where is Christ now? He is “sat down on the right hand of God”.
He is not being repeatedly or continuously offered as a sacrifice for sin by some Romish priest.
That priesthood was abolished, even as the text above states when it says “every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins”.
What a glorious passage this is and what a comprehensive debunking of the lies and deceits of Rome surrounding their perverted Eucharist.
Paul, as the author of Hebrews, was crystal clear on this.
So, too, most inconveniently for the Romanists, was Peter, who they falsely claim was their first Pope, a blasphemous position that Peter would have despised and which any true believer ought to hate as well.
1 Peter 3:18 says: “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit”.
Yet this blasphemy is a central tenet of the work being carried out by Divine Renovation Ministry, who supposed evangelical Mitch of Crown Jesus Ministries is trumpeting as a great and encouraging example to follow.
He ought to be ashamed of himself.
Ron Huntley is one of the leading figures in this Romanist deceit, and he is also a leading proponent of the leaven-filled Alpha Course. The very fact Rome embraces the Alpha Course really tells you all you need to know about it.
In promoting the appearance of Ron Huntley at Crown Jesus Ministries, Mitch said this on his Twitter page (also pictured, below): “We are thrilled to have Ron Huntley from Divine Renovation Ministry with us on Monday, 21st October at Crown Jesus. Ron will be with us all the way from Canada to share his experience of a Catholic Ministry with a heart for developing missional parishes.”
Of course, “Catholic” may give some people a warning but it could equally be used in the actual meaning of the word, which means “all-embracing”, and may be used, grammatically correctly, by any church really.
That is why the term Roman Catholic is useful to help make it clear what we are talking about when we discuss what is generally known as Catholicism.
Regardless of whether Mitch is trying to obscure the “Catholic” aspect or not, he is quite simply promoting a man and organisation who are in open rebellion against God.
Sadly, this is not the first time that Mitch has chosen Romish compromise over faithfulness to God’s Word.
Indeed, when Methodist minister Rev John Alderdice (pictured, above) engaged in his truly despicable ecumenical betrayal of the gospel by preaching at the Clonard Monastery Novena in June (which you can read about by clicking here) and bringing attention to it on his Twitter page, who was quick to comment and cheer him on?
Crown Jesus Ministries’ Mitch, of course.
After asking Rev John Alderdice (pictured, below as the blasphemous Mass is offered) how he got on, with a praying emoji beside his comment, the Methodist compromiser said it was “incredible”.
The response from Mitch? He said he was “cheering you on bro” before quoting “that Antichrist”, the Pope.
The quote was: “Diversity is not a threat to church unity. The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father and the Son, transforms our hearts and enables us to enter into the perfect communion of the blessed Trinity, where all things find their unity.”
Mitch ended his comment with #PopeFrancis. You can see it, pictured below.
So there you go – Mitch is promoting the Pope’s sinful utterances and supporting ecumenical fellowship with those who are espousing hellish doctrines.
Those hellish doctrines, of course, include the blasphemous Mass we have already referenced above, the lie of purgatory, the sinful titles taken upon himself by the Pope, the worship of Mary and prayers to saints and for the dead, as well as, worst of all, its absolute and total denial of the precious doctrine of salvation by faith alone in Christ alone.
Crown Jesus Ministries, just yesterday (Friday), hosted an event entitled ‘Evangelists Gathering 2019’, with two guest speakers.
The first was David Legge, a formerly traditional preacher who has, for whatever sad reason, descended into the charismatic, easy-believist deceit movement in Ulster, whose antics you can read about by clicking here.
The second was Pastor Tim Robinson (pictured, above) of a church which seems to keep popping up in God-dishonouring events and alongside God-dishonouring characters.
That church is Newtownbreda Baptist Church, based in east Belfast.
Its lead minister is Pastor Trevor Ramsey, a big pal of ‘Papist’ Peter Lynas and enthusiastic member of the Evangelical Alliance.
Pastor Trevor Ramsey (pictured, below) has also invited in a comedian to Newtownbreda Baptist Church in an attempt to laugh people into heaven and promoted a venture called ‘Just One’, headlined by ‘intoxicated’ evangelist Canon J John.
A host of churches took part in that venture, including ‘prophetic art’ promoting CFC Belfast and, of course Mitch’s Crown Jesus Ministries.
We are forced to ask the question yet again of Pastor Trevor Ramsey and Newtownbreda Baptist Church – are they supporters of ecumenical compromise with Rome?
Previously Pastor Trevor Ramsey has claimed he isn’t, but actions speak louder than words and his church is repeatedly linking up with Crown Jesus Ministries and Mitch, a man who is continually promoting and supporting ecumenical fellowship with Rome.
It would certainly appear to be a situation of trying to have his cake and eat it.
Matthew 6:24 warns: “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
Which is it for Newtownbreda Baptist Church and Pastor Trevor Ramsey?
Is prioritising faithfulness to God’s Word his priority, or is fellowshipping with churches bringing shame to the church of Christ his main objective?
It cannot be both.
We would encourage anyone reading this to share this article widely to ensure these characters are challenged and questioned for their continually damaging the cause of Christ in this land.
And we would urge separation from Crown Jesus Ministries, Newtownbreda Baptist Church and the Evangelical Alliance, as well as any meeting led by David Legge.
In this increasingly sinful age, where a lax attitude has swept through so much of the professing church, we need to be ever-vigilant and ever-ready to speak out against falsehood and error.
1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”.
Isaiah 58:1: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”
