Church of Ireland bishop is guest of honour at Mass celebrating priest who ‘failed to prevent clerical sex abuse’

The Church of Ireland Bishop of Clogher, the Right Eejit John McDowell, has attended the Romish blasphemy of the Mass being held to celebrate 60 years in the priesthood of a man who was found to have “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse”.

It’s perhaps profitable to pause a moment and take that in.

A senior supposedly Protestant clergyman not only attended the central blasphemous act of Roman Catholic worship, but he compounded that grave act of treachery by attending such a Mass as one that would honour Bishop Joseph Duffy, a man who “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse”.

The Mass was held on Sunday past in St Macartan’s Roman Catholic Cathedral in Monaghan town.

Is this the type of man who anyone should be celebrating, let alone a supposedly God fearing cleric?

It is also a brazen act of defiance by Rome and a slap in the face to any victims of abuse to honour such a character as this former Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher.

Right Eejit John McDowell is no stranger to consorting with Bishop Joseph Duffy, indeed we previously highlighted how the pair were joint guests of honour at a ‘community event’ in a Church of Ireland church in nearby Clones, County Monaghan.

At that time, we highlighted the highly critical report brought by the Irish National Board for Safeguarding Children.

We said at that time: “Bishop Joseph Duffy was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher until his retirement in 2010 and a damning report by the Irish National Board for Safeguarding Children later found that he “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse and did not remove suspected paedophile priests from the ministry”, a Belfast Telegraph report says.

“It also says there was “an unacceptable delay” in taking action against one priest, while it was also reported that Bishop Joseph Duffy’s delay came despite concerns being raised of a “credible allegation” in his Clogher diocese.”

It would not be unreasonable to think even an arch-ecumenist like Right Eejit John McDowell might consider it wise to take a step back from a scandal-hit Papist such as Bishop Joseph Duffy (pictured, above).

However, not a bit of it.

He has carried on regardless, determined to defy God and carry out his own religion, making his own false idols in his religion of ecumenism. He will please himself, as the idolaters of Israel in the days of Amos.

It says in Amos 4:4-5: “Come to Beth-el, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years: And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord God.”

It could be clearly said that “this liketh you”, O Bishop John McDowell.

He has continued to offer up his leavened sacrifices to God and it is a fearful thing to think that God would give him up to his apostasy, as he did with those idolaters and transgressors in the days of Amos.

Right Eejit John McDowell was certainly keeping company with idolaters and transgressors on Sunday, as, among a crowd of 500, the Catholic Diocese of Clogher website reports, there were 30 Romanist priests.

This included ‘Monsignor’ Joseph McGuinness, the Papal mouthpiece for the blocking of the erection of a memorial to 13 Protestants murdered by Roman Catholic terrorists in a bombing in Enniskillen. The bomb had been planted in Roman Catholic Church property.

As an aside, it is interesting to note the Church of Ireland Clogher Diocese website has a very clear and prominently placed link on its homepage directing you to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Clogher website. There is no such reciprocation on the Roman Catholic website. We believe that is very telling.

Back to Sunday’s service and no doubt Right Eejit John McDowell will have been delighted to be name-checked by not one, but two priests of the pagan corruption of Rome.

First to do so was the man giving the homily to Bishop Joseph Duffy, a ‘Father’ Paddy McGinn.

He said, referring to Bishop Joseph Duffy: “His work in the area of ecumenism has been outstanding and noteworthy and it is great for us to have Bishop John McDowell, Church of Ireland Bishop of Clogher, with us here today.”

Right Eejit John McDowell had his ego still further massaged when Bishop Joseph Duffy himself took the stage.

He said: “I especially welcome Bishop John McDowell of the Church of Ireland who is here present.”

So there you go – a special welcome from Rome to the so-called Protestant minister in attendance.

Were Right Eejit John McDowell truly preaching the gospel and earnestly contending for the faith, he wouldn’t be darkening the door of that chapel, and what’s more, the Roman Catholic Church wouldn’t let him near the place either.

The 39 Articles which are supposed to govern his church, the Church of Ireland, state that the Mass is a “blasphemous fable and dangerous deceit”.

Clearly, Right Eejit John McDowell does not believe that.

Such deceit on his behalf is strongly condemned by God. God speaks on numerous occasions of the bloodguiltiness of the preacher who neglects to shepherd the flock in the manner He has so ordained.

Such men speak only of peace, but their notion of peace is faulty for they make peace with sin, rather than imploring sinners to be at peace with God through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 59:3-4,8 says: “For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.”

This deception not only leads to the destruction of its propagator, but also of its followers.

We received correspondence some weeks back from a Church of Ireland minister who serves under Bishop John McDowell in the Diocese of Clogher.

This gentleman said, among other things, in one of the more polite messages we have received, the following: “I am not saying that I agree with everything that every clergy member in my church does but I do believe that God will be the judge if they have erred in any way and that they will have to give an account for their actions.”

He is, of course, absolutely right that God will judge and the likes of Bishop John McDowell will have to give an account for his actions.

However, Christians ought to challenge actions like these as they are such blatant departures from the Word of God. The damage is being done now, sinners are being told lies now and we must speak up now in God’s name to call out the actions of Right Eejit John McDowell for what they are – utter apostasy.

If you are involved with the Church of Ireland, we would implore you to break from clerical traitors such as Right Eejit John McDowell and separate yourself from them.

We would also encourage anyone who knows anyone in that Clogher Diocese area to share this article with them in the hope that they will “come out from among them” and instead fellowship with a Christ honouring church, not one for whom many of its leading figures glory in their links with the Romanist deceit.

Hebrews 13:13: “Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.”

Church of Ireland cleric Canon David Skuce cosies up with Rome and gets a promotion

Malachi 3:15: “And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered.”

It should come as no surprise in this wicked, fallen world that those who defy God are elevated to the highest positions in society, be it in political, social or ecclesiastical spheres.

And it should come as even less of a surprise that such elevation can be assumed by the beneficiaries to be an endorsement of their actions and by the uncritical onlookers to be a template to follow in order to obtain success (they “call the proud happy”).

Meanwhile, for the true child of God, sometimes it can be dispiriting to see those who set themselves at odds with God, as Asaph in Psalm 73, prosper.

Psalm 73:2-3 says: “But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.”

Of course, the happy outcome of that Psalm is Asaph’s realisation God is on the throne and rules over all, and their prosperity is but for a season.

Late last week the Church of Ireland Diocese of Clogher revealed it had promoted noted ecumenist Canon David Skuce (pictured, top), whom we have featured previously leading an ecumenical service from Boho Parish Church in West Fermanagh to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in that same village on Good Friday. We had also previously reported the fact that he was the guest speaker in an ecumenical service in the Church of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in the nearby village of Monea during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

And Canon David Skuce’s reward is that he is now a Chancellor (more like Chancer!).

He has been named as Chancellor of the Chapter of Clogher Cathedral and, while we are not overly familiar with the intricacies of the various ornate roles within Anglicanism, we understand this means he is the leading figure in the panel, or Chapter, of Clogher Cathedral, and is a leading adviser to the Bishop of Clogher, who granted him this promotion.

We will remind you at this juncture who the Bishop of Clogher is – the Right Eejit (though we believe he prefers Right Reverend) John McDowell, the man who described a Roman Catholic bishop as his “brother in Christ” and the man who just last Monday night was a joint guest of honour at a Church of Ireland service in County Monaghan with a Romanist bishop who was found to have “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse”.

Right Eejit John McDowell (pictured, above) has called it a “most senior appointment” so here we can see the setting up of “they that work wickedness”, which ecumenism undoubtedly is.

However, Chancer Canon David Skuce is not the only Rome loving apostate to be elevated this past week by Right Eejit John McDowell.

Canon Henry Blair (now there’s a surname which automatically prompts distrust!) is to take the role of Prebend of Kilskeery, on the Tyrone / Fermanagh border, a position now vacated by Chancer Canon David Skuce. A Prebend, we understand, is an honorary Canonical role, and sees him also help Right Eejit John McDowell oversee the Clogher Chapter.

His promotion is, according to Right Eejit John McDowell, “an important recognition of his contribution”.

We investigated Canon Henry Blair’s contribution and discovered he is another noted ecumenist who loves nothing more than cuddling up with the paganism of Rome.

In fact, on Easter Sunday this year, he, as rector of Magheraculmoney Parish Church (also seemingly known as Ardess Parish Church) in County Fermanagh, held an outdoor dawn service at which there was invited several other clergymen, including a Papist.

The ecumenical so-called Protestants who joined with Canon Henry Blair (pictured, above) were Rev Paul Thompson (rector, grouped parishes of Derryvullen North and Castle Archdale Church of Ireland), Rev Steven Foster (minister, Irvinestown Methodist Church and Church Hill Methodist Church, Derrygonnelly, County Fermanagh) and Rev Philip Bryson (curate, Magheraculmoney Parish Church).

Also among the company was ‘Father’ Frank McManus, parish priest at St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Ederney, which is near Magheraculmoney Parish Church.

These are the ecclesiastical figures enjoying advancement, they are being “set up”, but God has warned He will also tear them down.

We return to Malachi and to the first verse of chapter 4, which says: “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.”

What a fearful judgement awaits those who reject God and His Word, and the architects of this ecumenical movement must repent or face this judgement.

The previous time we wrote concerning Chancer Canon David Skuce, the post received a phenomenal level of interest and was read by many in the heart of that small Protestant community in West Fermanagh.

There were those who showed their support for the stance we took and we commend them wholeheartedly, particularly as they bore reproach from the committed ecumenists who attacked them and us at ‘Protestant Revival’.

This page is not an attack on ecumenism for the sake of it, it is not due to a dislike for Roman Catholics, as those who would deliberately misrepresent us would try to claim. This is an effort, under God, to reprove the works of darkness and set the path of salvation clearly before all who read this page.

We reject Romanism totally and utterly because of the blasphemous titles the Pope takes on himself, because of the idolatry of worshipping Mary and saints, the blasphemy of the Mass, the lie of purgatory and because Rome rejects the one true way to salvation, which is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

That pagan system, which is a descendant of Babylonianism, cannot be accepted by any true child of God and any so-called Protestant cleric who endorses Romanism is guilty of the most awful of sins – bloodguiltiness of lost sinners.

Ezekiel 33:8 says: “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”

Trying to find common ground is a futile exercise. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says: “what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

If ecumenists are happy to stand idly by and let their neighbours go to hell so as to avoid offending them on earth, that blood is on their hands but by the grace of God we cannot be silent.

Indeed, we would have to raise serious questions of these ecumenists as to whether they are truly saved themselves. The diet of ‘God is love’ ecumenism, neglecting the fact God is also a God of vengeance who “will not at all acquit the wicked”, fed them by their pastors and willingly and gleefully imbibed has left them drunken and senseless to the danger they are in.

They are like those referred to in Job 12:25, where it says: “They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.”

And what is their end? We are told this in Isaiah 9:16: “For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.”

The broad road of ecumenism, always widening to let more on, leads to destruction.

If you are a supporter of the ecumenical movement, please consider your latter end (Deuteronomy 32:29).

The path of ecumenism leads to hell, the path of Romanism leads to hell, it is only the path of faithfulness to God’s Word which will lead to salvation and as 1 John 1:9 says: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Church of Ireland in County Monaghan welcomes Romish priest who ‘failed to prevent clerical sex abuse’ into its midst

The Church of Ireland in the town of Clones last night held a ‘community event’ at which Bishop Joseph Duffy (pictured, top) was one of the invited guests.

Bishop Joseph Duffy was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher until his retirement in 2010 and a damning report by the Irish National Board for Safeguarding Children later found that he “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse and did not remove suspected paedophile priests from the ministry”, a Belfast Telegraph report says.

It also says there was “an unacceptable delay” in taking action against one priest, while it was also reported that Bishop Joseph Duffy’s delay came despite concerns being raised of a “credible allegation” in his Clogher diocese.

The event last night in St Tighernagh’s Parish Church was “to remember St Tighernagh, his ministry and his significance to the cross border parish and to the Diocese of Clogher and Clones”, according to the Diocese of Clogher’s website.

The notice further pointed out that in attendance would be “Bishop Joseph Duffy” and the “Bishop of Clogher, the Right Reverend (Right Eejit!) John McDowell”.

Right Eejit John McDowell (pictured, below) is a noted ecumenist and makes sure to be on close terms with the Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher, attending various events with him and each year producing a joint Christmas message.

Indeed, even though there was no Bishop of Clogher in place at Christmas past following the retirement of the previous incumbent, Right Eejit John McDowell felt the need to issue an ecumenical Christmas message of fluffy pseudo-Christianity with some emissary of Romanist deceit.

His Papal pal last Christmas was ‘Monsignor’ Joseph McGuinness, Diocesan Administrator of Clogher.

And when the previous Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher, Liam MacDaid retired, Right Eejit John McDowell issued a valedictory statement describing the Romanist priest as his “brother in Christ” and it had been “the greatest privilege to have served our Lord Jesus Christ together”.

They may well have served the same god together, but it most certainly was not the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent God of heaven.

It was certainly not the risen Christ, who shed His blood at Calvary so that we might come to Him for forgiveness of our sins and be saved from a lost eternity.

And if Right Eejit John McDowell considers Romanists, presumably including this Bishop Joseph Duffy, to be his “brothers in Christ” then we are led to the conclusion that he must believe and be teaching and preaching “another gospel”.

We should not be surprised that ministers are departing from the gospel, as we are warned of it in God’s Word.

2 Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

2 Peter 2:1-2: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

Is not the way of truth being spoken of in an evil manner these days? Is not bitter being put for sweet, and sweet for bitter?

Are we not told that homosexuality is now acceptable, nay, commendable? The Bible has a different view (Romans 1:21-27; Leviticus 18:22).

Are we not told that the murder of unborn children is an acceptable ‘lifestyle choice’? The Bible has a different view (Psalm 139:13-16).

Are we not told how vital it is that Ulster must be jointly governed by murderers and their apologists? The Bible has a different view (Exodus 20:13).

Are we not told that we must join with other churches, regardless of traditional fundamental theological differences, in the name of unity? The Bible has a different view (Ephesians 5:11).

Just because we should not be surprised, it does not mean that we should be silent.

Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, exhorted Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2 to “be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine”.

He didn’t tell Timothy to be faithful when the going is good and the people are receptive to the message, he was to preach the gospel “out of season”, whenever he was not to receive such a friendly response.

That is certainly the age in which we are living today.

Jude v 3 says that “ye should earnestly contend for the faith”.

There was absolutely no earnest contention for the faith in that church in Clones in County Monaghan last night.

Were there any, they would not have invited along a Papal bishop found to have “failed to prevent clerical sex abuse” and an Anglican bishop who denies the gospel of Christ by calling himself a spiritual brother of a man who has devoted his life to propagating the lies and deceits of the Roman Catholic system, a system which leads lost souls to just one place – hell.

If you are involved with or have loved ones involved with the apostate churches, please follow Christ’s call to “come out from among them, and be ye separate”.

And if you aren’t saved, then call on the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness “and thou shalt be saved”.
